  1. Maybe if it gets bid up to $2 million we can get a good coach. Didn't someone say he was on a flight back to Las Vegas? Why would USF be upping the ante when he is probably off the grid? Who is this guy anyway? Thx jonpfl
  2. Only one stat matters in basketball and he has 70 of those in 3 years! Thx jonpfl
  3. The dude got 70 wins in 3 seasons, sounds like an upgrade to me! I know unlv has a top 50 espn recruit (sg) who committed but didn't sign yet, wonder if he follows his coach! Thx jonpfl
  4. It would suck to win 70 games in 3 years at USF huh? Thx, jonpfl
  5. So, if he did graduate, would it be possible he could still coach USF? Thx jonpfl
  6. I know he was born in Dunedin but does anyone know how long he lived there? Thx jonpfl
  7. Do we know how much it is? Really enjoyed watching that team play last night. I've said it before, but I'd much rather lose a fast paced, higher scoring game than watch we've been seeing with Heath. Same goes for football. Would rather lose 42 - 35 that 10 - 6. Winning is always preferable, but at least seeing some offense from a USF team would be, ummmm, different. Baseball managed about 16 hits in the last 4 games. A far cry from what we saw earlier in the year. Sorry, not trying to hijack. Just rambling thoughts. Back to White. I'll take him if it can be done. Here you go "White signed a contract extension on April 1, 2013 that runs five years. If White leaves Louisiana Tech for another coaching job, he would have to fork over serious cash to Louisiana Tech in the form of a buyout: $500,000 before April 1, 2014; $400,000 before April 1, 2015; $300,000 before April 1, 2016; $200,000 before April 1, 2017 and $100,000 before April 1, 2018." Thx jonpfl
  8. Didn't Archie just sign an extension? Is it easy to get guys out of their contracts? I assume USF can upgrade the pay over Dayton, right? Thx jonpfl It's not always about the money. 7 years ago USF almost doubled the pay over Winthrop but couldn't pry Gregg Marshall out of there ... But wasn't that because our facilities were horrible? Thx jonpfl
  9. All, Found this : "White signed a contract extension on April 1, 2013 that runs five years. 11. Great post!! I am sure USF could hire Billy Donovan and some portion of the people on here would moan about something! Thx jonpfl
  12. I don't think AC can transfer to a Div 1 school and play right away. Anyone else know? Thx jonpfl
  13. I am SO glad I renewed my tickets. I was talking to my girlfriend (who loves bball) and she said she wanted to renew. Thx jonpfl
  14. Who is this guy being reported on Tampabay.com? #USF-bound Juwan Brown looks a little overwhelmed pic.twitter.com/7v0GVNALNH
  15. Wasn't Holston at the game last night? What are the odds he still comes to USF after watching that debacle? He already signed a LOI. Very good odds! Thx jonpfl
  16. I have two in sect 235, row J/K (club access) Let me know. Thx jonpfl
  17. My girlfriend and I will be going but I worried it is not going to be very crowded.
  18. Well, considering Willie T coached at Stanford and they have what seems to be a clean program, I would want to USF to be like Stanford. When was the last time you heard anything bad/dirty coming out of Stanford? Thx jonpfl
  19. I think I saw Omo at the University Collection shopping center last week, and if it was him, he appeared to have lost a decent amount of weight. How can you "think" you saw Omo somewhere? 7'3 and 330 lbs should stand out! Thx jonpfl
  20. Or maybe he just figured Texas is one of the best programs in college football, has almost unmatched exposure, world class facilities, and is one of the best universities in the country. Compared to Stanford? Come on. If I was a kid coming out of college and had a chance to go to Stanford, it would be a no brainer (great football school and world class education). Stanford is a one of the best universities in the world, not country. Thx jonpfl It would be a no brainer for you. Everybody has their own criteria for choosing a school ..... and of the worldwide universities rankings, Texas is in the top 10 of the "BCS" programs, top 30 overall ... I think his education will be just fine. http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings/2011-12/world-ranking True, everyone has their own criteria. I just know that an education from Stanford carries a ton more weight. A quick glance at wikipedia shows Stanford is ranked across the board in everything. I am sure if someone is hiring and they see a Harvard/Yale/Stanford/etc degree, they move to the front of the line. I visited Stanford last summer and it is a gorgeous campus, I would never leave if I went there!! "The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) ranked Stanford 2nd in the world in 2011.[118] ARWU ranked Stanford 6th in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, 2nd in Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences, 6th in Life and Agriculture Sciences, 13th in Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy, and 6th in Social Sciences worldwide. In its subject rankings, ARWU placed Stanford 4th in mathematics, 6th in physics, 3rd in chemistry, 1st in computer science, and 6th in economics and business. The U.S. News and World Report (USNWR) ranks it fifth among large universities for its undergraduate program in 2012.[119] In the 2012 U.S. News graduate school rankings, Stanford also placed in the top 5 for every discipline in which it was ranked, except industrial engineering, where it placed 6th, and fine arts, where it placed 36th. Specifically, Stanford was ranked 1st in Business, 4th in Education, 2nd in Engineering, 4th in Medicine, 2nd in Law, 1st in Biological Sciences, 4th in Chemistry, 1st in Computer Science, 4th in Earth Sciences, 2nd in Mathematics, 1st in Physics, 1st in Statistics, 5th in Economics, 2nd in English, 1st in History, 1st in Political Science, 1st in Psychology, 5th in Sociology. Within engineering, Stanford placed 1st in aerospace, computer, electrical, environmental, and mechanical engineering; 3rd in civil engineering; and 5th in chemical, material, and bioengineering.[120] The 2011 QS World University Rankings placed Stanford 7th in arts & humanities, 2nd in engineering & technology, 3rd in social sciences, 6th in natural sciences, 4th in life sciences, and 11th overall.[121] In specific disciplines, Stanford was ranked 8th in English (5th in the United States), 11th in modern languages (7), 10th in history (8), 8th in philosophy (4), 7th in geography & area studies (4), 5th in linguistics (3), 2nd in computer science (2), 2nd in civil & structural engineering (2), 5th in chemical engineering (3), 2nd in electrical engineering (2), 4th in mechanical, aeronautical, & manufacturing engineering, 5th in medicine (3), 5th in biological sciences (3), 5th in chemistry (4), 6th in physics and astronomy (4), 5th in metallurgy (4), 4th in mathematics (3), 6th in environmental sciences (4), 8th in earth and marine sciences (6), 3rd in psychology (2), 6th in sociology (4), 1st in statistics, 7th in politics and international studies (4), 5th in law (3), 3rd in economics (3), and 5th in account and finance.[122]"
