  1. Zero. No world where xCJL comes back home as a DC. But, I'd be happy to take your money, too. I'll give you the same 1000:1.
  2. I'll give you 1000:1 odds xCJL isn't the next head coach. How much are you putting up against me?
  3. FFS... why do you people do this? I will put up any amount of money anyone wants to wager. Here are the odds. It doesn't ******* matter! Whatever you put up against me, I'm taking. So, set your own odds. xCJL v. any human being on the planet and you can just send me the check, Venmo, whatever. I'm good. Just pick a number you're wagering and then send that amount to me.
  4. My argument for culture and Maddon is where he's at right now. Players > Culture Rays had winning players to go with winning "culture." Cubs had winning players to go with winning "culture." Angels... winning "culture" and he's fired. What's the missing link?
  5. I'm in the camp of culture is kind of ********. Take Joe Maddon and the Rays as an example. Bringing zoo animals into the locker room is only cute and part of culture when you're winning. You can do anything and call it culture when you're winning. I believe the best way to create a winning culture is by winning. The culture comes AFTER the wins. Derek Jeter isn't a "winner" because he's Derek Jeter. Jeter is a "winner" because he was on the Yankees. Put him on the Reds and no one talks about his clubhouse culture. Players win games. You have better players, you win more games. X's and O's help win when you've got lesser players. If your players are just flat out better, that makes up for a lot of everything else. I'll take better players over better schemes all day long. I'm still sticking with 1) recruit 2) X's and O's 3) sell the program. 1 covers up for 2. 2 doesn't cover up for 1 all that often. Get 1 and 2 down, you win games. 3 takes care of itself when 1 and 2 are going well and helps the overall program.
  6. For a college coach: 1) recruit 2) X's and O's (or knowing what you don't know and hiring the right assistants, nothing wrong with being the CEO) 3) sell the program, fundraising
  7. I thought he was complimenting us by saying we were at the level of his Louisiana teams the past 4 years.
  8. If you're looking to blow **** up tonight/tomorrow... tonight is 100% a player problem v. a coaching problem.
  9. Hahahahah... our WRs are ******* WRs. You'd think they'd be able to catch a ball.
  10. The players seem to be the problem tonight. But, CJS is going to take the heat for our eventual ass whipping.
  11. I'll keep the faith in my scrap book right next to our conference championships, xCSH timeouts, xCWT wins against good teams, xCCS smiles, and xCJS wins agaInst anyone...
  12. Can we start a new thread where we complain that Urban Meyer isn't our HC for 2023? I just want to make sure all of our whining and ******** gets its fair share of attention and doesn't get lost within other threads. We can get a lot of useful posts out of being mad that we didn't land him for a job that isn't even open and one he'd never take.
  13. Culture change doesn't happen overnight. And 2020 was a Covid season.
  14. If it was Timmy's playbook, you can take 2/3 of the arrows off.
  15. So he's a guy who got recruited under the previous regime and then never cracked the starting lineup with CJS as an upperclassman despite our defense being... awful, at best? And he's on Twitter saying the coaching is bad and we're putting stock in it?
  16. Its not a bad thing when a kid who was a walk-on decides he'd rather go somewhere else and get school paid for. I hope he goes D2 and has a full ride. I always shake my head when I see a PWO. If you're good enough to walk on at USF, you're good enough to get a scholarship at a smaller school. Check your ego and give your parents' wallet a break. There's nothing wrong with playing 4 more years of football and getting school paid for. Or, in this case, go have fun and not take out a loan. Kudos.
  17. I love taking shots at the coaching staff as much as the next guy, but telling me a no star recruit who couldn't sniff the field on a terrible team is transferring doesn't move the needle one way or the other. Helms leaving says more about his football ability than our coaching staff.
  18. Is this guy even on our team? Serious question. Is he 24 and can't crack a starting lineup or is he sitting on his couch making comments?
  19. I hate the internet. He said nothing. You went negative. I actually though it might be positive.
  20. We've got a long way to go before how we stack up against the Gators is my worry.
  21. Public Service Announcement: If USF had asked me to be our head coach 3 years ago and I said yes, we'd have 1 less win over FBS opponents. Also, we'd have the same amount of people who turned off the TV before halftime. We'd also have literally millions of dollars more in the budget.
  22. That's the insane part. No one could disagree with this.
  23. This is how bad USF football is right now. If we're playing the "can't do worse" or "nothing to lose" card... If we had hired Carrot Top instead of CJS when we had the chance, we'd have 1 less FBS win than we do right now AND the same number of embarrassing moments on national TV.
  24. I've also said we need more players that are better than the ones we have. I've been downright adamant about it.
