If Smazza can be USF AD, then he can be an awesome recruiter for USF-after all, being AD would mean he has to sell the school to people.

I like Chun and Phillips's background. They would be quality hires. Phillips especially-he knows the athletic landscape here in Florida since he spent 19 years at FSU (until 2006). I know we said Higgins is a home run, but Phillips might just be a grand slam.

I think we need to make a goal of having a consistent top 25 program. Do that and the rest will come. We are in a fertile place for football. Tampa will come if we have a winner. They came in 2006-10 didn't they? We have favorable out of conference schedules to make it happen. We just need to win.

Another point-how would USF athletics know ANYTHING going on inside the building at UCF? Unless John Hitt called Dr. Genshaft to mock her sometime in the past few days about them getting an invite to the Big 12 without USF, how exactly would they know?

I think I can handle anything but this. UCF getting into a P5 sounds very very premature, especially considering their other sports aren't great and any real person can see their football team is okay with an inflated lucky season...But they have a good market. Football is 90 percent of the pie dude and UCF has had 3 ten win seasons in the past four years, and they just won a BCS bowl. All the teams we had in the old BE/AAC conference who won BCS games are gone now. I don't like being negative but they're as good a candidate as any especially since the B12 didn't grab FSU or Miami.
