  1. if he is the future he needs to play now so he is ready next year we cant win with bj as qb move bj to rb or receiver as i said in an earlier thread bj experiment is over Problem with trying to move him now is that he's a senior and they've gone through camp. No way he picks up a new position at this stage of his career. u mean like expecting him to pick up the concept of pocket passing? lol. trying to make BJ a pocket passer is as alien to him as making him a WR or RB.
  2. in all fairness, Joe Smith won the Naismith and AP POY in 1995 and was the #1 overall pick in the NBA draft that year. he had high expectations, but like our coach turned out to be pretty mediocre.
  3. someone tell Skip Holtz we're not Oregon or Oklahoma State. BJ is not going to win many games throwing long every other play.
  4. i said the same thing all last night. their OLinemen are massive and their QB had time to pass on us all night. so is their DLine. our run game got SMASHED by their big front four, who looked as big as some OL... their LBs looked like DEs. we didnt have a gameplan that played to our strengths OR their weaknesses. our pass game was all vertical and our run game was up the gut. we got lucky on a few bomb passes but we couldn't sustain a drive for ****. there didn't seem to be many screens, tosses or anything to get our faster athletes into open space. we just ran into their arms, and passed over their head with a bunch of 50/50 balls and overthrows.
  5. can't coach scared. if he is a natural born runner then you need to run him without fear of injury. good point. cant argue that.
  6. Stay classy, my friend. Stay classy, my friend. ** c'mon son. the post was made out of frustration. even classy people get frustrated and vent. i'd rather he type a few *** **** *****'s on an internet message board than strangle a puppy or beat up a hooker over the game. this post is perfectly reasonable after the effort we saw last night.
  7. lol @ the experiment is over. no ****. this is his senior year, it's over either way. he may graduate as the BE all time leader in total offense, but he just doesn't have the drive. he is a far superior athlete than Grothe, bigger arm, faster legs, but Grothe had so much heart and grit and WILLED us to many comeback wins. that said, our receivers were dropping balls all over the place last night. that's not entirely on BJ. clearly he could be gaining big yards running the ball 20 times a game, but who is his backup if he gets hurt?
  8. I like all the bleeps except for the actual curseword that was my favorite part.
  9. before i clicked on the post i was going to rip the OP for actually thinking anyone cares whether or not he drove from gainesville, but once i opened the thread and saw all the ******* i knew exactly how he felt, cuz that's how i felt and pretty much exactly what i yelled at my dashboard during the entire half hour speed-drive back to Bradenton. i feel u gvillebull. they tried giving this game away in the first half and we couldn't get it done. a weak effort.
  10. true story. sports fan boards in general would be an interesting study in psychology/sociology. every boards has its unique quirks and trolls, but this forum definitely has a unique pathology. lol.
  11. i agree with u. i also agree with u about the whiny fans that only show up to complain. BUT... kinda hard not to get that sinking feeling when we take a dump in Big East play every year and have started off this year no different than the last 7. virtually everyone here wants a Big East championship more than anything else. we have more "signature wins" than we can count. we don't need them anymore. we need a BCS bowl berth while the opportunity is there, and reality is the margin for error is tighter than a new inmate's ass his first time in the showers now that FBS is moving towards a playoff system with 5 "more special than u" conferences that DON'T include the Big East. playoff format begins in 2014... that gives us THIS year and next to take that next step for this program, and last night only makes the margin for error slimmer. and next year we will have a much younger team with either a true Fr starting at QB (if the football gods truly bless us with Asiantii) or Matt Floyd, who has seen no gametime. ever.
  12. we don't win on Thursdays and we don't win against Rutgers. why is anyone surprised by this loss? BJ is by no means a star QB but his receivers were dropping gimmes ALL NIGHT, including one on the goal line which resulted in a pick.
  13. the only thing more predictable than a meltdown after every loss is a thread commenting on the meltdowns after every loss.
  14. those Rutgers uniforms look like some **** from the MAC.
  15. clearly defeating Chattanooga and Nevada is the 5th most impressive resume in the country.
  16. if a stranger pukes on me he's getting punched in the trachea, no questions assed.
  17. Greg - How do you defend her prior post? It wasn't even on topic and was clearly a dig at USF, which was clearly not called for. clearly.
  18. not very hot. the ashes will have cooled down by the time the new coach is hired in January.
  19. being a fan might be a choice for you. I expected a different coaching staff. one that has a team well prepared and firing on all cylinders. one that goes for the throat and wants to put a team away. I didn't get that. I got more of the same. Going for th throat got the last guy fired. *rimshot*
  20. i thought this thread might be about me, but i left in the 3rd quarter and know how to hold my alcohol.
  21. they used to give **** like this away for free before games.
  22. i called the ticket office thursday last week and they didn't even know.
  23. feel free to move the post to the proper forum. i'll find it. thanks!
