    I still think a winning program is most important than almost anything else. Once the playoffs are expanded to 12 (and then 16) the name of the game is for each conference to get as many teams in as possible as that is incredibly significant money.

    Yeah I going to post my score tomorrow. But I am going 34 to 20 BYU. The score may not be as close as the game really is. I just think there are too many new moving parts for USF to take down a ranked team. Bulls will get better as the season progresses but it will be a 1-3 start.

    Yeah that podcast is challenging to listen to at times. I think they try to be like Barstool’s show which I completely despise…sounds like frat boys talking about everything but sports.

    That’s a fair question. I am not too concerned with the time as with the actual action. I suppose they could get them in three years but not have them join until the contract runs out in B10. I suspect the PAC will not be getting a longer contract than the B10 has just signed. Of course another option is if Wash and Oregon sign with the B10 but don’t take a full cut (like Rutgers). It is still more than they would get with the PAC and would give them stability and piece of mind they have seat at the table.

    Ok that makes sense. From what I have heard, Oregon does not get many eyeballs watching them so their attractiveness is a bit questionable. I would like to see the tv numbers of Oregon vs. Oaky State. Same with Wash vs Baylor. Regardless, I still disagree with your first point, I think the two PAC schools get plucked regardless of ND. Yes, value my be lost but a case can be made that it’s only temporary until a new deal is signed in seven years.

    This was really hard to follow. In your hypothetical you were talking about the Big Ten taking some G5 schools? I do agree that the big 12 does not have a notable institution relative to football. However, Oklahoma State was one win away from the playoffs last year.Further Baylor is very good. I think both of those teams could beat Oregon and Washington on any year. I certainly see your Notre Dame point however I do think the Big Ten is still not going to wait on Notre Dame and hope they can get them later. The Big Ten very unlikely allow 2 schools on an island when this is a national conference now.

    That is some great fiction you have going. You are making wishes in the hopes that it impacts USF and are not looking at this logically. The PAC will be sawdust in 3 years. KU will not touch a conference that has teams wanting to leave and a commissioner who is weak and ineffective.

    The one element of power the B12 has is stability. None are going to go to the B10 unless they want to go to 20 teams. For sure Stanford, Wash, and Oregon are gone…regardless of ND (who will stay Indy and take more $ from NBC for 7 years).

    But again they are not going to have a choice pretty soon. The PAC is a time bomb of instability. Bull Daley is crazy if he thinks the B12 is going to get poached. You watch, FOUR schools from the PAC will be gone. It’s just a matter of time.

    Yeah, they are looking to turn down $65 mil a year so they can get an extra $5 mil from the PAC. .
