The positive is that nobody except the diehards really cares about usf athletics anymore so it's not really embarrassing to get kicked around by schools nobody has heard of.
I really thought we were destined to be a TCU type school, but it is becoming more clear we are gonna be Fresno State.

Interested in what people think about the top 5 hardest games. I think we can all agree on #1 but mine in order would be...
1. Bama
2. UTSA
3. WKU
4. Memphis
5. FAU
GO BULLS!
Injury free game against Bama is a win.

Clicked the thread looking for FAMU analysis.....got fire MK bickering.
Anyone watch the game?

Byrum Brown had 326 total yards and 3 tds. The offensive line gave him no time to throw.
I agree. We have 4 QBs because we are goning to need them this season.
Not that BB had a great game throwing just saying OL had a worse one.

OL could not pass block unless WKU rushed 3. If you take out the 80 yard TD, Brown had 14 completions for 80 yards. BB saved the offense with his legs.
DL got almost no pressure on passes. WKU had a ton of false start penalties and drops that killed momentum.
On a positive note, Matt Hill was relegated to special teams duty. He did his best to get a targeting penalty that wasn't called.

It's a national thing. The lack of clock stoppage after 1st down is creating a weird scenario where there is an unusual number of um minor injuries popping up, if you catch my drift.
I've seen a fair number of legit ones, but yeah maybe that is it.

Is it me or have there been a bunch more guys going down in the games today?

Def the lines. They need to really be improved which would go a long way to fix a bunch of issues.
Also, I like how chippy they got. They need to be playing angry with what has happened the last few years.

Sorta Player pressers.....they look a lot like Goach. I think they thought it was gonna be a win and everyone feels dejected.

540 yards ... 375 on the ground
Come on man .... the 3 turnovers by the qb were the key offensive mistakes mixed in with too many penalties, poor o-line play at times, and a few too many defensive breakdowns
Really as I think through this I believe it is just a young QB and bad lines. Need to see some real improvement on both sides of the line and it will make everyone better.

The problem is hiring coordinators that were coordinators in name only and no real play calling responsibility. Both of the last two hires were coordinators with no real play calling experience.......learning how to coach on the job just isn't gonna cut it...........
So, I guess him calling plays for Tenn last year doesn't count? He is miles from Jeff Scott.

I am with you but something has to change from the university and USF athletics. His ACC connections are worthless and losing at a catastrophic rate under his leadership is not moving USf Football forward .
At this point a new AD isn't going to change anything until the new coaches get a few years. So, I don't know what a new AD would add.

If Golesh wins less then 4 games this year at best he is one that needs time and comes with training wheels. If that's the case Kelly hired the wrong person and needs to go. We can't be on a 3 year rebuilding plan with all the realignment that's going on.
I can see a path where Golesh gets three years, while Kelly is booted out for his performance over the last 5 years. And he wouldn't just be fired for football, but a lack of success in basketball, the basketball hiring mess earlier in the year, and signing of on adding North Texas, Rice, and Charlotte to the AAC. Is there an AD who has had less success over the last 5 years then Kelly?
Golesh makes sense on paper and it will take some time for the offense to get clicking. If he can run this offense against SEC competition I think it is just a matter of time in this conference. The defense is the real problem and we weren't able to process as many guys out of the program as needed in order to fix it. If we don't get a bunch of dudes in recruiting and transfers to fix the defense then I don't think he will be able to turn things around with him.

If the team can't win five games with this weak schedule then AD MK should be fired immediately and a new AD that prioritizes winning should take over. Give Golesh one more year with someone that turns on the pressure on him.
I was gonna edit my comment, but since you responded...
Problem is, we have the same incompetent leadership hiring these people, so I doubt they can find the right person.

We re evaluate whether Kelly should still be AD. Need to see at least 4 wins. An Ad cannot win 4,1,2,1, less then 4, in 5 seasons and still keep his job
But yea Golesh, even if he performs poor, will be with us for at least 2 and half years.
As much as I would like an upgrade at AD.....I think you have to see how Goach turns out. If he isn't rolling in year three they are both gone. I don't really care about bball bc that isnt going to get us in a new conference no matter how good they can get.

One game does not a coaching tenure make. Let’s not jump the shark. We can reevaluate after the season
He is gonna be here for like 3 years.
What are we going to reevaluate? Firing assistants is about the only thing that will happen.

I'm trying to think if the defense was that much better or if I'm just wanting it to be.
They were down their 2 top WRs for stretches of the game, had multiple drops and Reed over threw a few passes and didn't seem quite in sync. We had "some" pressure, but the it didnt feel like we were harassing Reed. Felt good being somewhat in the game in the 4th quarter.
