So this might be something to keep an eye on. Goach will be on the field coaching instead of the box for the first time since 2019.
Joel Gordon coached his entire career from the box until the midpoint of last season.

AAC no longer looking west for schools. Shocker...
Must mean MWC picking up leftovers.
For the love of god where is the "MWC is looking at eastward expansion in addition to picking up WSU and OSU"

It can really paint a negative picture for the ACC. That they are adding a team not based on their merit but on their willingness to pay to join. I'm surprised that that is known publicly.
I think the surprising thing is that it hasn't happened sooner. I have to imagine this how some of the schools get into the P2.

I understand what he was trying to do. What I'm saying is that it was a bad idea. He could have added UNT, FAU, and Charlotte later.
Sadly, CFB is all about branding. You either brand up, or you brand down. We chose to brand down under the mistaken impression that we needed to. Those three schools would have joined in the future if SMU, USF, or ECU left. For example, we now know that SMU is leaving. We could have waited and invited UNT tomorrow. They still would have been available and accepted the invite.
Yep and I don't disagree with any of that. The best thing for this conference would be a merger of sorts.
When the top ACC teams leave this conference is likely DOA.

I don't see a P2 rebuild happening. The best we can aim for at this point is a reverse merger that later adds 3-5 top MWC teams next year. But is Aresco up to the task? His (poor) decisions to add UNT, FAU, and Charlotte loom large. Not sure he knows what he's doing. And apparently on Wednesday he made some comments suggesting he's lukewarm about adding OSU and Wazzou.
What he is doing is making sure he has at least two teams in Texas and FL in case one of them leaves.

Starting to think Aresco was not what he was cracked up to be.

Getting beat down in the ACC and that travel will wear thin quickly.

Like the Stanford Cardinal.
Real missed opportunity to call themselves the Tulsa Typhoon.

I think the guy that's tweeting is just speculating, but Tulsa over Boise State is just foolishness. Boise State would be a must add and would probably be the best football school in the league. In fact if I had to choose between having Stanford or Boise state in the league I would probably go with Boise State.
New Mexico being on the list is crazy as well

Longer it takes the better for USF I have to imagine.

3/10
Really can't be too hyped with how the defense has played. If they can show they are average or below average on defense and not a complete dumpster fire then I will be around 6-7.

It wouldn't bother me to see the multiple QBs in the OOC games. I think you have to play GB against Bama and 100% have made a decision for conference games.

What the P2 hopefuls are not explaining is that it will eventually lose tons of interest and with that the money dries up.
depends if pain hits the markets and economy. would be pretty easy for the tech companies to pick up the slack if the traditional networks can't keep up the arms race.

Some ACC schools.
exactly, if you're not a top 40ish school then you will eventually be relegated.

My model says that this model is 100% broken.

Oh come on. This guy never fails to churn out elitist bullcrap. They can save themselves if they would just work at it.
love seeing these people freaking out. i expect to start seeing this a lot when more schools who don't contribute get left out.
choo choo here comes the G5 train.

[Yahoo] Former FOX President Bob Thompson on the value of Oregon St. and Wazzu "22-28 a year of they were still in the Pac, but half your value is who you play. Alabama wouldn't be worth what they are if they played in Conference USA. Value compounds based on scheduling."
I don't understand who WSU and OSU think they are. Yes, most of the value came from who they played not them. They are both completely irrelevant on the national scale much like USF.
WSU has won two conference championships in 100 years and OSU has won one in in 60 years. They are both just sub par regional teams which is why they got left around to become another G5.

someone bring a goose to throw on the field after we
winerr cover. -
Can't trust this school as far as you could throw it to make the right decision regarding football.
They need to make at least two great hires in a row in order for USF to float to the top of G5 schools. That is basically a decade of good football....think about them actually accomplishing that.

At this point the USF admin needs to pull a Constanza and do the opposite of what they would normally do.
I think they used the Constanza rule when they decided to invest in the IPF and stadium.

Louisville and Cincinnati had been around awhile and had played a lot of the bigger eastern teams over the years. Not to mention, they have name brands in basketball which people recognize. I never thought USF would move up before them.
Yeah that and Louisville had Papa John bankrolling them.

The way I see it is they never would have got the ACC money, so throw out whatever the ACC pays to full members. They are losing the $63 million($7 mil x 9 yrs) from the AAC tv contract plus the $17 mil in exit fees, so $80 million for a guaranteed spot in the current ACC then whatever it looks like after team leave. Also, who knows what the AAC will look like in 9 years...
As you mentioned, seems well worth that considering the boosts they will potentially get.
