    How do we explain UNT being ahead of us? What about teams like "St. Bonaventure"? Bradley? Drake? Those last two haven't even played any top 25 teams..

    Idk, we beat UNI head to head and have a better record. They're still ahead. I still don't know what school that is.

    Sure, it's arguable. Though, imagine if soccer did not have the relegation model. I'm sure fans of the smaller teams wouldn't care nearly as much if they had 0% chance of ever competing for it all (even if their chance is still effectively 0%). Fan bases really just want the opportunity.

    There should be a premier league of the top 40. 4 divisions of 10 teams each. Last place team team from each division gets relegated. The lower league could have 4 corresponding divisions with 18 teams each, where every year the winner of each lower division gets promoted to replace the worst team in each division of the premier league. This would save college football. It made soccer the most popular sport in the world.

    FAU does at least have a few quality wins. Can't say the same for many other teams ahead of us in the NET rankings.

    Ok, now will we be ranked? how many teams that are favored to win do we have to beat? I feel like even if we beat FAU, it will just drop them out of the rankings.

    IMO the whole CF landscape should be burned to the ground and reformed with 4 main regional conferences and a relegation/promotion model to and from a lesser league a la soccer. I think that would make everyone happy, except for maybe teams like FSU that periodically have some really bad down years.

    Number of students and alumni = potential TV watchers when the team is winning. Most college football teams have fair weather fans. There's like 20 universities that could say otherwise.

    I guess i just didn't realize how important pre-season rankings are. 11-9 UNI from MVC? I don't even know WTF they are.

    I hear ya. I guess my question is becoming "Why do they only rank the top 25 in MBB, if the NCAA tournament has 64 teams?" If the answer is because the rankings don't matter, then why do them at all? Honestly asking, i've never followed college hoops.

    It is not significantly different. I'd say OK St. is on par with a team like Virginia Tech (maybe with a more rabid/delusional fanbase) and WVU is on par with Pitt. WVU wishes it was in the ACC, but at the time they were happy to escape the imploding Big East Fb.

    Just took a look at the basketball rankings and USF isn't even getting votes? I know there's too many teams, but what a crock. Creighton is ranked #17 and has a worse record than us. They also lost two out of their 3 games against ranked opponents. Also, a 69-48 loss to an unranked Colo. St... What's up with that? I'm gonna have a hard time following college basketball if this is how it works. Seems way worse than the old CFB ranking system. Please discuss.

    Not sure why you are comparing USF and FSU's academic standards. I simply said FSU's aren't good enough for the B1G. USF's probably aren't either, but as you pointed out we do at least have AAU status. Miami is more B1G material than FSU. I could see FSU in the SEC, if Florida weren't so scared of them.

    The other option is that FSU stays in the ACC and stops whining because next year 12 teams get in to the playoffs. All they've really done in the last couple months is create a lot of enemies with their conference mates lol. Florida doesn't want them in the SEC, because of recruiting. B1G doesn't want them because of their low academic standards. Funny stuff.

    Why are people always posting Big 12 shills here? They are trying to manifest the reality that they are not the weaker conference. Hey guys, you lost OU and TX, remember? The ACC probably doesn't even want, nor need FSU at this point.

    There is no P2. It's all made up. Stop perpetuating the falsehood. Yes, two of the conferences make more money via TV. No, that doesn't make them special.
