  1. I'm not quite sure why a flagship state school like Colorado with more money than us, better conference, their own stadium, and presumably better facilities would get screwed, and not the other way around. Money talks. Unless we matched what CU offered, we're most likely not getting Primetime as HC. He already did his charity case with JSU, he's earned the right to a fat paycheck. He would excel at USF, but he would be foolish to take less money to go to a lesser program. Hope I'm wrong and he sees the upside of USF.
  2. I'd want to transfer too if my snapper performed like he did at the swamp.
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 53/100 My Time 142 seconds
  4. I'm not sure what @puc86 territory is, but ok. I agree that we **** the bed and are finally trying to clean it up. USF has had a great team for a long time (except last few years) but we've always seemed to have a schedule that is one notch harder than we can handle. Over the last 20 years, we've played almost twice as many ranked teams as UCF in the regular season. We have more than twice as many regular season wins against ranked teams than them. They had an easier schedule, but it also translated to conference championships and big bowl game wins. My point is that if USF can just dominate the new AAC and win some m'fin championships, then we have nothing to worry about when it comes to the next phase of conference realignment. Let's enjoy the competition we're given and just win.
  5. Yeah, I went to school at USF from 2005-2009 and I never understood this delusion that a 7 year old USF program was in fact leaps and bounds ahead of UCF. It was pretty fantastic that we won the first 4 meetings, but I was on the side of the discussion back then that we needed an on-campus stadium in order to compete in college football long term. It was clear even back in 2007 that UCF's investment into their Athletics was going to ultimately have them surpass USF, if USF didn't keep up. Which they did not. Of course "leaving them behind" was the only way we could move on to bigger and better rivals, without having to actually match UCF's investment into their program. I blame Genshaft for a lot of things, but I also blame the delusional entitlement that some of our "old school" fans seem to have, that circumvented popular opinion and general wisdom on what it takes to have a successful college football brand. No offense to you Brad, or anyone else specifically. There is almost a poetry to the karmatic occurence that is UCF leaving us behind.
  6. Sure, it was supposed to be. That all went out the window when Jim got a little slappy at halftime. Meanwhile, UCF built a stadium, won their conference several times, and now got an invite to a better conference, and recruits better than we do. I could see USF in the same conference as Miami someday, but we've played them 6 times already and only won once. The more obvious rivalry is definitely UCF, and even they are making a case for being far ahead of USF. Our best hope now is to not lose ground to FAU, since they will now play at our level. Build the stadium, and win some freakin' games. That way, when the ACC GoR dissolves and they need a new Florida team to fill the FSU void, USF gets the call up. If Miami left the ACC too, then nothing would make me happier than to see both USF and our old rivals UCF playing each other again in the same conference. I do think they belong in the same conference. FSU would be a great fit in the SEC.
  7. As much as both sides hate each other, USF and UCF have always belonged in the same conference.
  8. i'd be happy with a small version of this, if it were on campus. paint the seats green and do gold turf.
  9. 1) South Florida 2) 38-27 3) Gerry Bohanon 4) Ajou Ajou 5) 335 (one less than bullfan04) Super premature prediction: After getting the nod for starting QB, Gerry Bohanon leads the Bulls to an upset over a ranked BYU team at home, cruising into Week 2 against ... *checks notes* ... Howard. I expect at least one trick play with both Bo-canon and T-Mac in on the play. I will be upset if they don't at least try something creative to get a big play and momentum going. Reasoning for the USF win is that Gerry beat BYU last year 38-24. The score will be very similar in Week 1. Gerry is going to connect with the tall receiver Ajou Ajou. Weaver will catch a lot of passes too. *this could change as gameday approaches.
  10. Friendly reminder that UCF only has 6 wins against 24 ranked opponents in the last 20 years. That's including their bowl games wins against morally defeated teams (Auburn coming off a loss to Georgia after already beating them earlier in the season, derailing their actual National Title hopes, and now a 6-6 Florida team whose coach just got fired right before the game for sucking). So, they have 3 ranked regular season wins in 20 years. Talk about a powderpuff schedule. No wonder they've had a handful of winning seasons. USF has played 44 ranked opponents in that same time frame and won 10 (practically the same win %, but much tougher schedule). We also came extremely close to beating them during their NaTiOnAl TiTlE SeAsOn. That said, they are now acting a lot like we were when we tried to "leave them behind" in 2009.
  11. Well, MIT says there will be complete societal collapse by 2040, so I think this is the most accurate thing said in this thread. I just want to see USF win some games until then.
  12. Makes sense now why Gerry chose USF. Whenever our team is winning, the Bay Area pays attention and there is a ton of money here.
  13. I don't see how there will be a P3. With Texas and Oklahoma bound for the SEC, the Big 12 is a LOT weaker than they portray themselves. Yes, they added the 3 (currently) best teams from the AAC, but that's not even close to keeping the Big 12 on par with the SEC/B1G to be considered a part of a P3. Oklahoma State got done dirty by Oklahoma. If there's one more team from the Big 12 that I could see jettisoning to the SEC: it's them. I think there are some teams in the ACC that fit in the SEC (FSU, Miami, and Clemson) and some that fit in really well to the B1G (UNC and Duke). I understand ACC has the GoR thing until 2036, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to hold up realignment when it comes crashing like an avalanche, i.e. 5 teams agreeing to leave. It's a matter of time and we might not even have to wait 14 months, let alone 14 years. Adding those 4 teams puts the SEC at 20-team super conference status with pretty much every flagship program in the south from Texas to the Atlantic Ocean. The B1G has already added UCLA and USC from the PAC, and the Big 12 is desperately trying to poach the rest of the PAC's good teams. The problem for the Big 12 is that they aren't a regional or cultural fit for those west coast teams and on top of that they kinda suck too right now with Baylor being their best team. Oregon wants into the B1G and I've heard Washington thrown around in some rumors. I personally think that Oregon and Stanford would be a great fit for the B1G. If the B1G added those 4 more teams, they'd have a coast-to-coast 20 team super conference dominating Football and Basketball. So, where does that leave the depleted Big 12 and PAC? What about the teams in the American that "got left behind" (as if they're the only conference getting the shaft in this mess)? I think the best case scenario for all of the conferences — and that's why it probably would never happen — is to merge the Big 12 and AAC into a 20-team conference and merge ACC and PAC into a 20-team conference. The main curveballs are putting WVU back where they belong and the new "Pacacc" should call up SDSU and maybe Boise State or someone equivalent. The Utes fit in better in the Old West division of the new Big American. Notre Dame stays independent, because they can. ****, I stop watching football for 5 years and it all goes to hell. I would watch the **** out of these conferences though.
  14. Ideal realignment would be FSU and Clemson to the SEC and WVU and USF taking their spot in the ACC (see below). Would be nice to play Louisville, WVU, Syracuse, and Pitt again like the old days. Idk, to me is seems like USF would fit in best there. Certainly would be better than the AAC or even the Big 12.
  15. I used to think that The Claw had plenty of space for an OCS. The golfers on here didn't take kindly to that. Wouldn't it make more sense for the golf team to have to travel off campus? I also think someone said something about not being able to get proper building permits that close to the protected land. Idk.
  16. One of these is not like the other. Same city though, my bad.
  17. Nope, I was wrong. I sit corrected and no longer support an OCS because of it. Long live the sea of red!
  18. Well, I know for a fact that USF is in Temple Terrace. I guess people from Coral Gables tell people they're from Miami too, so I see your confusion. My point is that the nearest USF dorm room is 30 minutes away from Ray Jay. You're very welcome Bull Daly! I didn't realize some people were so anti-OCS though. That's kinda odd.. you don't see that mentality in any other University's fan base AFAIK.
  19. Here you go. Both taken from 10,000ft. Also, here is a view from 63,000ft showing how stupid it is to play your home games in a different city. Enjoy
  20. He has what you call a "punchable face". Plus he derailed USF's '07 season, did his best to destroy the Bucs from within, and helped cover up Sandusky's crimes against children.
  21. If you build it they will come. Ray Jay is nice, but i'm not sure how you can expect to have a college atmosphere a half an hour away from the campus... OCS is a huge factor in what separates commuter schools from true college campuses.
  22. We need an OCS. It will get alum back on campus and start real tradition, as opposed to the sea of red at Ray Jay. I live on the other side of FL, if I decide to go to a USF game, I don't even catch a whiff of the campus. I know i'd go to more games if it were on campus.
  23. 2-loss SEC would get in CFP before undefeated USF, unfortunately. 5 years ago, never thought i'd miss the Big East.
