  1. This will be an interesting process because of the number of seats that people are able to reserve based on donor level. I am on June 13th, which should be pretty good, depending on how many tickets each selector goes for. I ask people to report positioning as they go.
  2. I wouldn't worry about it. When I went to the Green Jacket level I didn't get the symbolic jacket either (which were a hideous shade of green back in the day) and when I went to the Iron Bull level I didn't get a suit of iron, either. I did, however, get a shot at better seats.
  3. Been great on facilities but, until the conference dust settles enough for us to see the future landscape of the college sports business model who can say? The real big boys of college football are not satisfied to get the lion's share. Afraid of even the slightest possibility of growing parity arising out of the limitation on scholarships and expansion of college cable broadcasting, the BCS bullies, with the help from their co-conspirators at ESPN, want to obliterate competition from any up and comers by making it too expensive to operate in light of the possible return in television revenue. I expect the athlete stipend to be the last nail in this coffin for many schools. Hopefully, when all is said and done, we are not on the outside looking in. If Doug can avoid that, then I'll give him high marks. Until then, school is still in session.
  4. I really have never understood why he routinely predicts major success for us each year (once he said we were the "dark horse" for the national championship) when we never provide the proof. I guess he is working on the broken clock theory. I'd love it if we proved him right, finally.
  5. Notre Dame has has continued to wield considerable influence in college football and, up until now, Notre Dame has helped Big East preserve BCS AQ status with the quid pro quo being that its other sports remained in Big East. With that going away, they will likely be presented with a deal they can't refuse from one of the major conferences, i.e., join all in or be locked out of any chance to play for the big one.
  6. Opening opponent not finalize but a good one, per Stan.
  7. Yeah, Bulls baseball in a gorgeous facility and Frenchy's Tiki Bar Happy Hour (the ladies drink free 5:30 - 7 pm per promotional ad). Sounds a bit like heaven.
  8. Let me add to it for you... JD and the UF President are tight so UF will be offering Poly accreditation till Poly can secure it's own.... Out of the goodness of their heart. With apologies up front to our Polk County Bulls, that county is better suited for UF than it is for USF ... agreed. moved out, and eventually will find a job not in that county. will only go back to visit parents. i came from okeechobee county, which is redneck BFE good ole boy area, but polk county trumps it by far. it's disgustingly out in the open too, i guess residents there don't give a hoot and are okay with it. keep voting gop new graduates should move out of florida fast or try to join the machine the runs the county or state and get yours Kinfolk said "Jeb, move away from there." Said "Californy is the place you ought to be, so they Bushes and moved to Beverly"
  9. Maybe JD Alexander will help us tear it down and start all over again.
  10. A recent tour of the facility showed it is coming along nicely. Should be a big step forward, not only for basketball and athletics, but the university and the community as a whole. The reborn dome should provide a good mid-size events arena alternative.
  11. I remember back eons ago when we were starting up playing against UCF in football and folks on the debating boards were arguing UCF was way ahead of us in football and we were way ahead of them in basketball. Neither was or is true. Our relative strengths on both fronts will ebb and flow over time but, for now, we are both relatively insignificant blips on the college sports radar struggling to stay (or perhaps become) relevant. That said, in a snapshot, the picture of USF basketball is UGLY.
  12. USF vs. UCF equals USC vs. UCLA? Really? I'm sure that 80-year-old crosstown in-conference rivalry would pale in comparison to the intensity of the Snore on I-4. If they get in the Big East, then we'll talk.
  13. I am for UCF in Big East in any event. I think it makes sense and may be an eventuality. I just don't know who will stay and who will go.
