  1. I have accomplished absolutely nothing this morning. Need more posts on TBP or I am actually going to have to occupy my mind with work... P.S. I hate Rutgers.
  2. Not necessarily. You drop back in 1.5 seconds, these guys can supposedly run 40 yards in 4.5 seconds. So you just need to put some air under it for 3 seconds and let them go get it. A little more hang time and they can get down the field farther. That's all well and good, but the WR doesn't usually have any separation in 1.5 seconds, and they usually have to make some sort of move to get separation. Its not straight line speed here. Additionally, God-willing... BJ has to check on the safety and make sure he's not throwing into double coverage. If the deep ball was as easy as a speed advantage, every WR would just be a converted track star.
  3. Can they make them Green? Never mind... if this thing takes hold, I'll start making green ones and make a fortune.
  4. How do you propose that we break the curse? Time for BJ to take one for the team. As it's been documented, he has had the largest (pun) struggles against RU...
  5. I don't think Murray has an 'x-factor' for the NFL... he's not super fast, not big enough to run people over, doesn't have incredible hands out of the backfield... He's good and may get a FA look, but, probably not draft-able. Lamar could get some looks as a returner/ McCluster type hybrid guy. There are not a whole lot of offenses that can effectively utilize him in that capacity, but, if he proves that he is a very capable RB for the rest of the year, he does have 'x-factor' type speed, some receiving skills, and great vision... there certainly are a lot of 2-back systems in the NFL where he could be the change-of-pace guy. I think he will have to keep looking very sharp for the rest of the season, and Skip has to give him enough carries to show some durability as well. Wasn't the rumor that he is up to almost 190 now? That's not a bad number.
  6. Who cares. (sorry Bulliever... not directed at you, just hate RU)
  7. You mean Man-ielle? You guys sure that's not Steven Tyler?
  8. I'm not saying that looking forward I fully expect to go undefeated, I already said that anything can happen on any given week... but... if we win this week... I expect to win next week... if we win next week, I'll go into FSU expecting to win, if we win that one... well... you get it... Until there is a tic mark in the loss column...and even after we have one or two or 7 losses... on a week by week basis, I am going to wake up on game day fully expecting to see the best product we can put on the field. I've been disappointed before and I'll be disappointed again... God I hope our coaches and players expect to win every time we step on the field. Expecting to lose is a sure fire way to succeed.
  9. If you really expect us to lose as a general rule... how do you keep yourself excited about USF football? We went to Auburn and beat them like a drum (we completely outplayed them and if we could make a FG, the score would not have been close). We smacked FSU in the mouth and the kid that Lejiste introduced to football has not quite remembered how to spell his name yet. MY USF FOOTBULLS can win any game, any time... sure, we have the ability to implode and look like hot garbage, but, this team has done enough to prove to me that we CAN win any game, so, I go into each game expecting to see the best of my Bulls, if I get the worst, so be it. I get pissed when that happens, but, keep coming back expecting the best. We will win this game. I saw something on Saturday that I did not think BJ Daniels was capable of. No panic, just pure determination and will to win. We got this.
  10. I almost forgot... This is where it began for me.
  11. Until we actually lose a game, I have no reason to expect that we won't finish 13-0. We have the talent to hang with anyone on the schedule. Having said that, every game makes me nervous. We are all way too obsessed with this stuff. I have no shame, but, I went to college, I never had 2 Saturdays that I felt the same...Thursday... ha. At the end of the day, we're pulling for a bunch of kids out there and anything can happen. That's why college football is addicting.
  12. I'm still hoping that he talks someone into bringing Carlton Mitchell in for a look.
  13. Guys... BJ Daniels had 227 yards passing in his last quarter of play... if you project that out, he's very likely to hit nearly 900 yards on Thursday. We're going to be unstoppable. They dont rank this stat, but I bet we're a top-10 4th quarter offense too. I'm stoked, I was going to worry about this one until I came across these very relevant statistics.
  14. Hot receiver bring Andre Davis right? He's a guy you can just throw it up to and let home make a play. That's different than we have had in the past really. Sterling is good, but, Davis has a bigger body and can make things happen.
  15. Is this guy really quoting stats against Tulane and Howard? I'm not saying your D isn't stout, but its safe to say that you guys haven't been tested (like many of the ladies in the "girls of..." thread).
  16. Ugh. Bad news for Sterling. This kid can't catch a break with these freak injuries. Hope he recovers quickly and is able to come back from this one. Does this mean that Gonzales may be back in the mix? Or, do we start using the TEs just a little bit?
  17. It should be automatic, if Davis gets man coverage, he runs the go route and BJ fires it up to give him a chance. That should be a no brainer.
  18. Murray has a nose for the end zone. When we're in scoring range, he seems to break more tackles and find an extra gear. I noticed this about him last year. He'll go 2 ypc all the way down the field, then, you get to the 10, and he drags people into the end zone. Good to have a clutch guy like that.
  19. I think Shaw has a ton of potential, but, LL at this point has better vision. You could see it on kick off returns, he has great anticipation and understanding of where his blocks are. He is a running back, not a WR. I understand that they wanted to get him on the field... but... we have an issue with some of the routes that he can be most dangerous on as a WR. In hind sight, he probably should have taken a RS his freshman year and had an extra year to bulk up, but, this kid is a huge asset on this team this year. Sucks that Shaw got hurt, but, it was a BAD idea to RS LL this year.
  20. smazza needs to get to more games, I am agreeing with him a lot all of the sudden today. I wasn't with USF fans at Auburn, the area I was in went dead silent when Hester crossed the goal line.
