  1. At least we'll get good field position in most cases, we have solid returners.
  2. Because Skip wants to switch him back to wr next year... he has no clue how to use Lamar, so he has played musical chairs with him for the last 3 years. One more will be fun right?
  3. They have survived on speed alone. We have far better athletes and missing tackles like we are is inexcusable.
  4. Wow, again... we are the superior team, what a joke to try a reverse.
  5. So... as long as we are way faster than everyone we play, we might be OK... Did we seriously just fake the extra point? Skip is an idiot...your supposed to act like you should be killing this team coach, not being cute just because. That has all of the potential to pi$$ someone off and lead to one of your guys getting hurt.
  6. Thinking optimistically this is only the first game of the year. Mistakes will be made, better against an FCS team that a BE team. Yes, but an FCS team shouldn't be dominating our o line and picking off our 5th year senior QB. We'll see, I'm trying to stay positive.
  7. Still trying to blow people up instead of actually tackling. Afraid we're looking at another long agonizing year.
  8. I generally do not care what the team wears, but, this is by far the most "traditional" combo that I think of.
  9. But ESPN has more games to show... if we have 14 teams (15 with ND), there is a maximum of 15 games/weekend. With 3 time slots (noon, 3:30, 7/8), you can get at least 6 games on. Between the ESPN networks, I highly doubt that there are 6 games on any given weekend. I think you would still see some non-conference games on ESPN as well... it just may depend on who the opponent is. NBC could also set up USA with a game or 2 per weekend. Possibly the prime-time slot on Saturday's would go to USA... If NBC is serious though, they have to broadcast online as well to compete with ESPN3.
  10. Needing to win it... to complete the perfect season...
  11. Plus, one other: IF Monica Santos (Tampa, FL) Bulls Sign Santos to Round Out Recruiting Class http://www.gousfbull...TCLID=205331217 This kid has been a huge USF fan since she was probably 8 years old (maybe younger). I remember her at games when my sister was playing. This is what we need in all sports. I guarantee you that playing for USF is a dream come true for Santos. And, to their credit, there were several players on the team back then that really took an interest in their little fan and probably gave her a ton of motivation to get there.
  12. How would he say that? I think USF has one player on that team, OU has more, no connection to Ken... he can't promise things like that because he'd never be able to deliver. Gotta get some hitters. It will take time, right now, Ken is playing the speed game because he hasn't been able to lure the big hitters. The game has a lot to do with timing as well. For what ever reason, this is probably one of our worst hitting teams, but great pitching... if we could get both in line at the same time, we'd have something.
  13. You have to hand it to OU, the pitches they hit hard were good pitches. Way down in the zone, but, that one girl is a very very good hitter. That game could have done much worse. It shows that Nevins and Richardson are legit, they can keep us in any game, but, we have to find some run support. Hopefully the exposure and new facilities will help to get us some more hitters on the recruiting trail. Proud of our team. Would love to win 2 on Saturday and make it to Sunday, I don't know that we can do that, but, it would be huge.
  14. Good story by Johnston... Ken is a great coach. I am certain that he is going to stay at USF for as long as he wants to coach at the college level. Partly because he loves USF, and partly because his wife loves Tampa. She has a good enough job where money isn't the issue in Ken's decision to stay or go. What better job is there though than coaching at your alma mater and leading them to new heights? Is it 1:00 yet?
  15. I think everyone has a different definition of success. I feel like we should win a BE football title... we should not win a BE basketball title (men or women). But, the men made a great showing in the NCAAs this year... very successfuly season. I'd take a trip to the WCWS over a BE softball title any day of the week. But, by the "conference championship" logic, not a success for Woolard. The facilities may have been done with or without Woolard, but, would they be what they are? I think the baseball and softball deal is top-notch... would another AD have simply renovated the existing facilities? I have to give the guy an B+/A-. I don't think he has any control in the conference alignment stuff. We simply don't have that much power and are just along for the ride right now. The programs have been pretty successful, facilities upgrades, etc. To me though, football is king. The whole department is judged on the success of the football program. Skip needs to get it done this year, or, Woolard may have to make some changes (not necessarily Skip, but certainly staff), that will be a defining moment if it happens.
  16. What the deuce... I haven't been posting much, but still... I let it get at least 5 posts deep. Someone HAD to say it. If not you, it had to be me. Don't get jealous. You're right, I was slacking. Been caught up in the softball buzz and saw an AC post, popped in to express the crush and saw that you beat me to it.
