I think everyone has a different definition of success. I feel like we should win a BE football title... we should not win a BE basketball title (men or women). But, the men made a great showing in the NCAAs this year... very successfuly season.
I'd take a trip to the WCWS over a BE softball title any day of the week. But, by the "conference championship" logic, not a success for Woolard.
The facilities may have been done with or without Woolard, but, would they be what they are? I think the baseball and softball deal is top-notch... would another AD have simply renovated the existing facilities?
I have to give the guy an B+/A-. I don't think he has any control in the conference alignment stuff. We simply don't have that much power and are just along for the ride right now. The programs have been pretty successful, facilities upgrades, etc. To me though, football is king. The whole department is judged on the success of the football program. Skip needs to get it done this year, or, Woolard may have to make some changes (not necessarily Skip, but certainly staff), that will be a defining moment if it happens.
