  1. I don't know why they factor ND into the BigEast bowl package anyway. All ND has to do is win 9 games with that weak schedule and they are in the BCS. I don't see them ever taking another BigEast bowl.
  2. Speaking of All-Sports Rankings, SI just put theres out yesterday and it shakes out thusly... BigEast has 5 of the top25. (Notre Dame-9, Rutgers-18, Louisville-19, UCONN-22, WVU-25) Pac10 has 5. ACC has 5. Big10 has 4. Big12 has 3. SEC has 3. hmmmmmmm... Link **NOTE: There is a typo that has ND at both 7, and 9. They are really 9th, and Cal is 7th.
  3. Me too, Joe. Call me paranoid, but I don't like putting every tidbit of personal information about myself in one easily indexed place. I'll probably bite the bullet one day, though. I really need to let the world know how cool I really am.
  4. Bulls fans should root for WVU and UCONN. If they both win, there would be a three-way tie for the BigEast championship, giving the auto BCS birth to the highest-ranked team. Which would be WVU. Then the Bulls could say they beat a BCS bowl team. :-/
  5. Awesome post, Bobcat99. Well done. Going back to the original topic, I just think it's funny that the SEC is now going to lead the charge into some sort of playoff when it was the SEC who created both the league championship game, and the BCS itself. Their self-serving greed knows no rules or boundries. The rich tradition of SEC cheating is forever a testament to that.
  6. ...Petrino... Mission9, I remember way back in Ought' 4, the pirates thought they would send us out of CUSA by stomping (and spitting) on the bird. The result...59-7. I have yet to see a worse team talk so much trash. Louisville's 1-10 team that played in a triple A baseball county stadium blocked our way into CUSA the year after we finished in the top 25. I felt the same way! It cycles bud. When was the cycle where ECU was ranked in the top6 three years in a row?

  8. ;D LOL My girl is from Greenville, and we go there for Christmas every year. She badmouths that town like a motherf#@!er!
  9. 9 team conferences allow for that, not 10 unless you wan't 9 conference games and an unbalanced schedule. I'd love to see eight 9 team BCS conferences or six 12 team conferences with championship games and a 12 team playoff with the top 4 seeds having byes. That's a fantastic idea. It's human nature to either change or get left behind. Darwin said, "It's not the strongest of the species that survives, it's the one most responsive to change." The reason college football is spinning its wheels in the face of massive popularity is its refusal to change. Something like you mentioned, Apis, would be perfect for taking the game into the next century, but instead, the old men are going to let "tradition" destroy the game. There's only so many times a team's fans are going to feel screwed and helpless before they swear off college football.
  10. Hey RockyTop, did LSU impress you against Ole Miss yesterday? j/k Good luck against the kitties this week, don't ever let that streak die. I don't know if you followed it, but they gave up 40 points to LA-Monroe(2-7) yesterday in a barnburner. 42-40. They had to stuff a 2-pt conversion with a minute left.
  11. And that's what it's all about; "star power" and "image". Boo. Maybe one day it will be about football, but I won't hold my breath. I don't think the BE has any shot of getting two BCS bowls, unless there is some contractual obligation towards a top5 BCS team. If WVU and UofL win out, they will both be in the top6 of the final BCS poll. It would be yet another travesty to exclude one of them. But as it is... The Big10 is getting two. The SEC is getting two. ND is getting in if they beat USC or not. Boise State is getting in. ACC, Pac10, and the Big12 are getting one each (at least). That leaves the BE with one.
  12. Corso parted ways with Louisville unceremoniously to move to greener pastures in the Big10 at Indiana. John L. Smith anyone? It does seem he has a bone to pick at times. I agree wildrover, it should be absolutely mandatory that you have to win your conference to play for the NC.
  13. They're good.(I can't admit otherwise) But, they don't know how to handle success yet. It's only halftime though...
  14. I'm not signed onto anything, I just clicked on the link at the top of this page. (http://www.970wfla.com/pages/listenlive.html) It's worked great for the past hour. UofL wants people to pay for the right to listen, so it's hard to find. Try http://www.wcky.com.
  15. Working great for me. I usually like to listen to the opponent's commentators to get a little perspective, but I usually have to search 4ever to get it. Thanks for making it easy. Good luck, Bulls.
  16. ;D Hilarious. WVU was beat up, not just beaten, beat up by Louisville this year. ("My funny bone huwts.") Without Michael Bush. WVU needed an onside kick and a fresh Pat White to beat Louisville in MoTown last year. (How's little Adam Bednarik feeling?) In triple-overtime. Eer fans should be counting their lucky stars they aren't on a two game losing streak to a lowly former CUSA team.
  17. I'm not trying to single you out, Joe. I just don't understand how a fan of a longtime underdog school like USF or Louisville could support the BCS. It was made by, and for, traditional powers only. It was designed not to legitimize the NC, but to exclude half the country. Sagarin says Rutgers schedule is currently ranked 68. Arkansas's is ranked 81. Virginia Tech's is ranked 69. Wisconsin's is ranked 61. I have no doubt whatsoever that if any of those three teams were undefeated, they would be in the NC game. Also, Ohio State's SOS is ranked 49. Is that so much more impressive than 68?
  18. Tranghese told the BigEast coaches not to lobby. He told them he didn't want to hear any ******** and they're following orders. Petrino said the same thing. He said they're not going to whine for sympathy votes like other coaches. Rutgers is in the discussion, but that's all they'll get. I don't care if they win out or not, there is no excuse for the only two undefeated BCS teams to not play for the title. That's the main reason the BCS was invented; to make sure that only BCS teams would get a chance. Now they want to change the game mid-season. Where was the talk about strength-of-schedule when FSU was rolling over an embarrassingly easy ACC before the expansion? Nobody questioned Texas's SOS last year. Or USC's the year before. Why not? Why aren't we talking about Michigan's SOS?
  19. Maybe? Maybe? An undefeated BCS school would get left out, and that's not unfair? I don't think any team should have to apologize for going 12-0 with two wins over top10 teams. It's hard enough just to go 12-0. Is Rutgers schedule the toughest in the country? No. Is it the weakest? No. But neither is UF's. At the end of the year, why don't we just take the top10 most difficult schedules and see who has the least losses among them? Because that would be extremely unfair.
  20. When is it going to be understood that WVU's offense makes everybody's D look terrible. I guess only when you line up against them. Those guys are seriously unstoppable. And I don't think it's Slaton and White. They're both awesome players, but it's the scheme. Every freaking run is untouched for 15 yards. The holes they have to work with are huuuge. And it does not matter whose defense they are up against.
  21. RockyTop, if there is anything you can do about it, don't let UK beat Tennessee. It would be just as maddening for UofL fans.
  22. just look at the SOS for all teams you mentioned sec doesnt need tough ooc when compared to big east pal because SEC conference is so tough you are trying to defend big east teams' schedule are you???????\ if you want someone pleasureable to talk to dont come to me you want to talk sports i am here I'd love to talk sports with you smazza, but you'd rather not. You've written the same sentence about scheduling a top15 program (whatever that is) over and over and over. Is that talking sports?
