  1. I don't see a problem with his comments. What's wrong with them?
  2. Harangody's good. He's real fun to watch.
  3. Does anybody really care about basketball? Not one post that I'm aware of about the best conference tourney in the country. I don't think USF's bball apathy has much to do with the team's success, or lack there of. I think that basketball is just not important enough to most people around USF. And that makes it real hard to find a decent coach.
  4. You seem to think ESPN is. They are not. Help me out with something here...nevermind. Look, here's a website that might help you focus your desire to rise up and smack down the powers-that-be...http://www.chomsky.info/. Great stuff that you could probably appreciate.
  5. I still don't know what point you're trying to make, and I don't know what to tell you HaulingBull. :-? Only one Saturday game sold out, and that was #17 Miami. An argument could be made that the only reason the UK and WVU games sold out is because they were rivalry games. There are no home rivalry games this year. This years home schedule is garbage, and I have a feeling Jurich knew Saturdays weren't going to be full crowds anyway. Murray State Middle Tennessee State Syracuse Utah Pittsburgh Rutgers If the stadium is only 89% full for the last Saturday home game of the season(senior day), then there is no reason to ***** about having more Saturday games.
  6. I think there's a word for it....SPIN Sep 03 - Sun 8:00 pm Kentucky 42,597 58 Deg Sep 16 - Sat 3:30 pm Miami #17 42,704 81 Deg Oct 13 - Fri 7:45 pm WVU #3 43,217* 39 Deg Nov 18 - Sat 7:30 pm USF 40,348 42 Deg Dec 2 - Sat 12:00 pm UConn 38,436 34 Deg * New Stadium Record I don't know what point you're trying to prove there, but what your chart tells me is that the Friday night WVU game beat any Saturday's attendance. And the Sunday UK game was 110 people shy of beating every Saturday game. More people go to non-Saturday games than Saturday games. I'm not sure I know what you mean by "SPIN". I mean, a noon Saturday kickoff on Senior Day, fighting for a BCS berth, 11-1, needing to beat UConn to win the BE, and it was 5K short of capacity. Where were all the people that are supposedly calling for more Saturday games then?
  7. lol Easy there, Che. You won't find many people more anti-big business or anti-ESPN than me. However, everything in my previous post still stands. Bottom line is Jurich is the final word on dictating when we play. Period. And he is very much for the city of Louisville. (He's expanding the stadium to 65K knowing that there aren't enough commitments, and with the intention to lower upper deck seating prices considerably to a.)fill it up and b.)give kids and lower income people[i.e. me lol] easier access) Thursday(and Friday) night football and UofL was almost a joint venture. Both sides got something out of it and made it what it is today. Now, everybody wants a piece of the weekday spotlight. (see FSU-Miami) Like I said before, more people in Louisville go to weeknight games than Saturday games. That's who's standing up and being counted.
  8. Guess who's been arrested again? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/ncaa/03/03/bc.fbc.scarolina.garcia.ap/index.html This kid sounds like a winner. :
  9. Bucs get Plummer and Jeff Garcia... http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6524670
  10. To be fair, though, UofL football owes a whole lot to ESPN. Jurich made a concerted effort to get as much national exposure as possible to build up the UofL name. And really, the program's still not at the level that we can do without the benefits. In one of those articles, I think, it says that weeknight attendance has been better than Saturday attendance lately, so not too many people can be ********. They didn't even sell out the last home Saturday date last year.
  11. But move on to what? Just a new coach? Just crossing your fingers and hoping that some miracle worker(a la Gillispie) is going to magically turn everything around? IMO, that's about a .02% chance. It's a wish and a prayer more than a sensible solution. I think a main point of all of this is that it's going to take more than a new head coach to make a difference here. At this particular school, at this particular time, a whole lot more than a head coaching change is needed to make this program a winner. It's like changing the cufflinks on a horrendous suit.
  12. It probably says that until more people care about basketball than baseball, Woolard isn't going to care.
  13. Lutz wouldn't be a bad hire. I always thought he was a Charlotte guy though.(The city) Isn't he from there, or something like that? He certainly seemed to get the most out of his talent. He was good at getting the diamonds in the rough, too. Well, that's what it all boils down to. Without that commitment, the only shot the Bulls will have is if they find some super young hidden talent somewhere, a la Gillispie or Grant, before they make a name for themselves. Otherwise, you're just going to have some retread that never was, or a has-been that wants to retire...er...earn a paycheck in Florida.
  14. That's not what you want to hear from the national media leading up to the game, though. I'd want to give Auburn every reason to overlook the Bulls.
  15. UK wants him, but they're not going to hire him straight from USA. They still have a lot of reservations about Ford, and this is his second year at UMASS, a bigger school. (I think Ford will be awesome somewhere) Stay away from Coach K "proteges". Amaker, Snyder... I've never heard of Arrow, but I like his name. Former Pitino and UofL assistant Reggie Theus may be interested in joining the BigEast. He's doing well at New Mexico State.
  16. Pelphrey at South Alabama would be perfect, IMO. But he won't stay long. I think Amaker is garbage, Lutz is past his prime(which wasn't awesome to begin with). Ford knows he can have any big-time job he wants in a couple of years, i.e. he's not coming to USF. Butler's coach probably has a better situation there. USF is just in a real tough position until the Athletic Department commits to wanting to see the bball program succeed. Which they obviously don't right now. USF can regularly fight for NCAA births, but it will not happen until the leaders get serious about it.
  17. It has to be the toughest sport in the world to officiate. It's incredibly fast, and the invisible lines regarding violence and on-ice conduct make it so hard, I would imagine.
  18. Everyone except the Big East is overrated to you. I think it's obvious that teh SEC was hands down the best conference this year. You're probably right, but I don't know how you can tell. They don't play anybody but each other.
  19. What a minute. Did that article say that he made a threatening gesture towards a cop in a back alley with his pants down? LMAO
  20. The excuse is that Gillispie is a special, rare coach. There aren't enough Gillispies to go around. A&M lucked out. Period. You ask, "what is up with Mac?", like why can't he be as good as Gillispie. It's a stupid question. Gillispie is better than 95% of the coaches out there today.
