  1. So you're waiting to see how the season turns out before making an ultimate decision on Mac ..... Interesting. No, I think his decision has already been finalized. He'll still want him gone, it's just that the coach will deserve another year.
  2. Why bother? You won't be happy with a win. We can read it in your posts. I mean, if being a Bulls bball fan is so humiliating and disappointing for you, then why bother? It seems like you draw a whole lot more unhappiness from it than it's worth.
  3. We are gonna beat you silly, Bearcat. Hahahahaha. Ha.
  4. SEC team who does play a pretty difficult schedule. They beat Texas State, Ole Miss, Central Michigan, Miss State, Vandy, La-Monroe, and Georgia. P-U They may have played a difficult schedule, but they lost to the difficult teams.
  5. Yeah, the Cards will dip next year with or without Brohm, no question. Though, the OOC schedule is pretty weak. They play Utah, at UK, at NC State, MTSU, and ?. There's going to be an adjustment period with Kragthorpe, and I don't think they're going to win 10 games, but I just take offense to the idea that Louisville is going to fall off the map simply because the coach is gone.
  6. Man, that horse is gettin' it right in the crotch.
  7. IIRC, Fox didn't build squat at Nevada. That person was Trent Johnson. Johnson got the program rolling, and Fox took over a successful program. At least that's how I remember it, I could be wrong.
  8. I can't believe the number of fans that actually wanted Cantwell to play over Brohm this year. I knew of a bunch personally, that thought HC was better. I couldn't see it, though. I think we're going to realize just how good Brohm really was once he's gone.
  9. Does the 970 link play bball games online too, or just football? FWIW, I think the Bulls will win tonight. The Cards are barely treading water right now, and haven't won a game away from Freedom Hall in over one whole calendar year. The longest such streak since the 40's!
  10. Yes, but how much of Cantwell's performance was him and how much was Petrino's ability to gameplan with QBs? They might lose their 2 leading receivers, their all world QB, their leading rusher nad that is just the offense. How is ranking them 25 extreme? The Cards are not losing Douglas or Urrutia (they've already announced it). Bush didn't play all year. Losing Brohm will hurt, and I think we'll miss him a lot more than other Card fans do, but Cantwell is proven and very good. It's just that Brohm was great. But Brohm's said he's impressed with Kragthorpe as most of the other players that have talked with him are. So Brohm's not a lock to go (but I would if I were him). So far, we're not losing very much on offense. On defense they lose a bunch, but most of the big-time talent were underclassmen or redshirted. Contrary to popular opinion, Louisville has tons of talent. The NFL Draft has proven that over the past few years and will continue to show it this year and years to come. It remains to be seen what kind of coach we have... But the real obstacle is human bias. USF will experience it first-hand when they take that next step. UofL was the first team since the BCS was concocted(1998) that dropped in the polls after winning a BCS bowl. ....and he has 6-7 Alabama ranked higher than Louisville next year. If that doesn't tell the entire story of what college football is all about then what does?
  11. Not a chance. Louisville's had to hear that garbage for decades, so you won't be hearing it from them. It mostly came from the bluebloods at UK, but once the fball team got big we heard it from everybody else. I think it's a city school thing. Honestly, every Cardfan I know has bigtime respect for the Bulls. And I know USF has the team's full attention every year from now on. I think of it as a very civil rivalry. But a rivalry nonetheless.
  12. I think, since there are so few games on a football schedule, that there ought to be a whole lot less Div I...er..Bowl Subdivision teams. Ideally, I think they should redraw up 8 conferences with 9 teams each. That leaves 72 schools in the mix and everyone else plays DII or whatever. And with nine-member conferences, every school plays every other in the conference leaving two or three games against non-conference teams. You also shorten the season to 10 or 11 games. Leaving plenty of room for an 8 team, all conference champs playoff.
  13. I don't understand how that would be any more "antitrust" than the 65 team basketball tournament. Some get selected, some don't. As far as that playoff scenario, I think the conference champion element would (should) shut up a lot of teams. If you don't win your conference, you don't have that much to be upset about.
  14. Wait...I found something. I didn't write it, but maybe that improves its credibility. lol This one is from May 2002 and says that the SEC has had 15 major infractions in a 12 year period (1990-2002). Yikes! http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/stories/2002-05-24-sec-policing.htm This one is from November 2006 and details how 8 of the 12 teams have been busted for major violations since 1987, including 2 in the past year! http://espn.go.com/ncf/s/2001/1126/1284780.html It seems to me that at any given time, a team in the SEC is either very good, or on probation....hmmm.
  15. I don't have the time nor the ink and paper to complete such an undertaking. ;D But as long as you don't read it, I guess it never happened. So we're both winners.
  16. I always find it funny when people make outrageous claims http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SEC_National_Champions#Football Does it mean anything, or tarnish those titles in any way, knowing that the SEC is by far the dirtiest, most scandalous and cheatingest conference in college football history? I'm asking all SEC fans. I mean, it's common knowledge that most success in the SEC is found to be had in opposition to the rules of fair play. I wonder how that gets rationalized in the minds of SEC fans.
  17. I can't think of any of the other seven BCS teams having a problem with Notre Dame. Who would not be favored by at least a touchdown? Ohio State Florida Wake Forest Oklahoma Boise State Louisville LSU ?
  18. My bad, I get it now. :-[ And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. ;D
  19. Oklahoma is better than BSU? That's funny. They got dominated last night. OU was a couple of very lucky breaks away from losing big. What the hell makes you think OU is better than BSU? Guess what the same could be said for OU. Their QB doesnt short arm s2 balls and they win by 14 and there is no overtime. There is a difference in an ineffective QB, and the ball taking a freak bounce into the back of a player's leg. One is bad football, the other is a bad break. I watched the entire game from start to finish, and Oklahoma had to fight and scratch like hell and get some breaks just to come back and tie it. Not only that, but it took them three tries to convert the tying 2-point conversion. Once they tied it, BSU was flustered and lost their composure. But they sure got it back didn't they?
  20. LOL Riiight. Oh, you mean against Michigan he didn't. I have a feeling he's thrown a few bad balls before, Musberger. Here's my argument...Booty-61.7% comp percentage 144.01 QB rating. Zabransky-66.3% comp percentage 162.57 QB rating. Uhhh how is that an arguement when i was saying a better QB would pick apart BSU and not underthrow wide open receivers on touch down plays. Zabransky has nothing to due with arguement in question since he wont be throwing to the oppsitions WR's or defending in the secondary. Not to mention USC's recieving core takes a big crap all over OU's, Dwayne Jarett would have tourched BSU even worse than he did a UM secondary that is one of the best in the country. Also where were you guys weeks ago when BSU finished their regular season undefeated i didnt see a huge out cry or even a mention of them getting a share of a NC. You guys talk about me being brainwashed by espn i think some people here need to have their heads checked as they jump on the BSU for NC title bandwagon. Also did you guys cry as loud when Utah shallacked a BCS team in their undefeated season and didnt sniff a NC? Seriously alot of people are so reactionary... You assume JD Booty is better than Zabransky. I gave you reasons that maybe you were wrong. As for Boise State, all I'm doing is defending them from people who are coming out of the woodwork to discredit their beating of OU. They prove they belong, and the first point you want to make is that USC? is better than them. USC lost twice to unranked teams. Does it matter how many games a team loses? I don't give two squirts where BSU ends up, but the bashing they take is incredible.
