The words in bold are likely true. At least for now, I think the Big 12 is actually more likely for us than the ACC. Both might be afraid of us potentially diluting a tv contract. However, the ACC has two Florida members recruiting against us, while the other major faction might perceive our academics as inferior. The Big 12 has neither problem.
The ACC losing many teams could open a slot for us, but with Miami still there, there is a strong possibility we would be blocked just for be being a potential competitor with a Florida member. Ironically, the Florida "Big 3" might be blocking us like we were accused with UCF. But, even if the former is true, I doubt there would ever be a backlash from politicians, a sportswriter (like Mike Bianchi), or even many fans.
