    It won’t be harder to recruit after spring. There is another open transfer portal window in early May. If anything, there will be even more options then than there are right now as people seek fresh opportunities after spring ball. Many so called power program defensive players will seek fresh starts after finding out they’re not on top of depth chart after spring. Some will just be seeking new opportunities period.

    I'd like one more impact transfer WR also. We need to ensure then next Horn or Weaver is on the roster. I think we're good with RB's. We have several prospects that can man that position. The transfer from Florida, Joiner, Dukes, Powell, the NDSU guy, etc.

    I understand what you're saying and in a perfect world I would like to have a guy like the Indiana transfer also. We also may be selling the 2 guys that redshirted last year short. We are all assuming they aren't any good. They might be really good. They have decent size at 290-295 pounds and can easily be beefed up to 300 by fall camp. Let's hope these guys are studs.

    If we're going to a 3-3-5, like I have heard, then we really don't need anymore DT's. There is one DT and 2 DE's in that system. We have 4 NG's in excess of 290 pounds. Rashad Cheney can man that position. Would it be nice to have one more big body at the DT position, absolutely, but we have 4 scholarship big bodied DT's now. I would like to sign the Sio guy from Indiana, but not losing major sleep over it.

    Haha. When I clicked on this I expected to see a photo of CAG with Dwayne Johnson. I thought maybe it had something to do with the XFL and/or former USF players signing with XFL. No one knows who this other dude is outside of Tampa.

    You can add a max of 32 players. 25 players for your normal class plus up to an additional 7 for the amount of transfers you lost. We've signed about 22 or 23, so we could sign up to 10 more, but my understanding is that we do not have 10 more spots available at this time unless more transfer out. My best guess according to what I have heard is about 5 or 6 more scholarships to offer. That is a rough estimate. I don't have exact up to date figures.

    If Wright ends up like Jordan Cronkrite, it will be a good pickup. I think he will be.

    All the recruits have essentially already been signed so the second signing day means virtually nothing. Transfers can sign now, so unless there are any more high school recruits, nothing will happen in Feb. Other than maybe a onesie or twosie here and there, the signing class is essentially complete. CAG can add transfers any time. We already know who has been added and signed. Yes, a transfer DT or WR could be added but they don't have to wait until Feb 1.

    The windows are for putting your name in the portal, not for signing players. CAG can sign players after that date. In other words, they are for entering the portal, not exiting the portal.

    Just as a reminder about the transfer portal. A player can't put their name in the portal anytime they wish. They have to wait until the transfer portal window dates. Those are Dec 5 - Jan 18 and May 1 - 15. If you don't get your name in one of those windows, then too bad. On Jan 19th, all of our roster is safe until the next portal window in May.

    There are two transfer portal windows. One from Dec 5-Jan 18 and another from May 1-15. You have to put your name in one of those windows, otherwise you can't transfer and play immediately. He could transfer out in May, along with anyone else on our roster. We also, in theory, could lose someone today or tomorrow.

    Yes, he has another year of eligibility left. He was Indiana's starting DT last year. He's like 6'3, 315 or something like that. He has 52 career tackles from the DT position, playing in the Big 10.

    Do what you want. No one is forcing you to donate to anything. Just don't be surprised if USF continues to suck and can't pull in any decent recruits. Other schools are funding NIL, including other AAC schools.

    Everyone, literally everyone, goes by tickets sold/distributed. So USF is no different than anyone else. Look around at AAC stadiums and see what is announced compared to what is actually there.

    Then USF will continue to be a bad FCS level program, if people think like you do. Them's the facts. It's your money, give to what you want, or don't give at all, but if the greater USF community doesn't give to NIL, then the football program won't be able to attract recruits, and will even lose out to so called group of 5 programs that are funding NIL such as SMU, for example. We will fall further and further behind even the Memphises, and SMUs, and UTSAs, and UABs of the world. Give to what you want to give to but unless NIL is funded, CAG isn't going to be able to recruit ****.

    Exactly right. Weaver sat out last two games. The offense scored at will essentially, scoring 81 points in two games. Not worried. Have even a mediocre defense and USF wins 7 games next year.

    We have 4 DT's in the 290 range. These guys can't be beefed up 10 pounds in the off season with a good nutrition and workout plan? 4 solid 300 pound DT's is plenty in your rotation. Obviously, you'd like more, but you can live with 4, if all are good players.

    So basically someone's word is irrelevant. Got it. Wonder what would happen if I told my boss I was going to do something and then didn't do it. Words matter. Don't make a quote if there is any possibility you might not back it up. It's really that simple. Just say nothing, that way you can do whatever you want.
