  1. We need PJ as a backup qb, not rb. You have to have a quality backup qb, in case your starting qb goes down.
  2. I thought all 3 looked good. Walt Smith, Ben Williams and Keeley Dorsey. Might not have as much to worry about as you think. Especially if Ponton's suspension is only 2 games. Gives us 4 quality backs.
  3. Does anyone in the entire universe believe we would lose to MTSU right now. No. I believe we were 1AA at that time, or just beginning to transition to 1A. Worlds apart from today. There is a reason oddsmakers have us 20 point favorites. Do you think they know what they are talking about. I think it should be about 30.
  4. 1aa. We have 4 other OOC games to schedule tougher games. Start with a 1aa to get the bugs out.
  5. If I remember correctly, in his first year he was sometimes referered to as Jean "Pat" Julmiste.
  6. It's stupid, change it to the other side. It can be done.
  7. If WVU finishes undefeated, they will play in NC game. There won't be 3 undefeateds ahead of them. A one loss team also will not finish ahead of them. They have too good a head start, starting at #5. If they had started much lower, then maybe. WVU has earned a lot of respect from national media, due to Sugar bowl win.
  8. Why do they point the camera towards the empty side. It makes it looks like no one is there on TV.
  9. But would you buy that ticket to Ann Arbor if the Bulls were playing an hour and a half away at the same time? Of course, you wouldn't .... No I wouldn't. I would be at every bulls game if I had the means to. Like I said, I personally wouldn't do it, but I can somewhat see his argument about the big game atmosphere.
  10. Couldnt disagree more here.  These two games are tune ups where you want your offense to come together in real game situations against someone besides their teammates.  Grothe is also young and needs as much experience as he can get before we get into the meat of our schedule.  If you think Grothe is going to be the starter of the future hear it has to be time to turn the page on the Julmiste era. See, and I see things differently.  I see Grothe as the QB of the future... but this season is about easing him in to the college game a little at a time... with Julmiste getting most of the snaps and game action (think what Lousiville did with LeFors and Brohm last year).  That way, Grothe doesn't have all the pressure on his shoulders this season, but gets some great experience he can use for his last three years. That was actually 2 years ago.
  11. I personally wouldn't buy gators tix instead of bulls tix, but it sounds like Ari is still a fan.  I am a bulls fan through and through, and that will NEVER change.  But, being originally from Michigan, that doesn't mean I don't occasionally watch the Wolverines to see the big game atmosphere in the big house.  If I was back in Ann Arbor for whatever reason, I might even buy a ticket just to see the 110K fans jammed in and atmosphere.  THAT DON'T MEAN I AM NOT A BULLS FAN.  The bulls are my team and I will always follow them and be a diehard!!!!!!
  12. He didn't have one attached to the article. Maybe it will be posted to the blog later.
  13. Grothe #1 on new depth chart. http://www.tbo.com/sports/bulls/MGBJLQ77PRE.html
  14. I'm with smazza. Before the season, I said PJ should start based on the fact we were told they were even and PJ has experience. I was even expecting big things out of PJ this year, hoping he had matured. Well seeing both the other night, it was clear to me it was not even. Grothe clearly was better and deserves to start. Question, has anyone noticed that PJ doesn't follow through on his long throws. Throws off back foot instead of stepping through his throws. May have something to do with accuracy.
  15. Thats absolutely correct. We need every BE team to do as well as possible. Remember the final BCS standings go a long way toward the next BCS deal after this one expires. I root for BE teams against OOC foes. We need as many top 10 finishes as possible. Whether it be WVU, UL, or whoever, along with a bunch of top 25 finishes by USF, RU, Pitt, etc.
  16. I bet if you compare blackwells career stats to grossmans they are better. Just a hunch, don't have them in front of me.
  17. There's not that big a difference between 5-11 and 6-0 or 6-1. 1 or 2 inches won't make any difference in qb play.
  18. I disagree. They only had 160 yards or so the WHOLE game. Don't care if they were playing a D111 team that is impressive. Most of their drives where held together by their qb scrambling, not necessarily good offensive play. Bulls basically held them to 3 pts, their td was a gimme. Of all the problems we had, defense wasn't one of them.
  19. All I ever see holtz do is talk up Notre Dame and Brady Quinn. Quinn didn't exactly light it up last nite.
  20. I thought I heard UL was already talking about expanding (read it somewhere??). Isn't WVU's around 60K.
  21. 1. He is on the small side. There is a noticeable difference in Pj's size an MG. He is probably 5-10 or 5-11 rather than the listed 6-0. That doesn't mean he can't play though. 2. True. 3. I thought the offense looked find and had good balance. About 200 yards passing around 300 rushing. Can't get better balance. The only thing that stopped them was miscues, penalties, turnovers, not the cowboys defense. 4. Agree, but we seem to have good depth, so hopefully that will help from one back taking all the pounding. Plus if we get MP and RP back it will help even more. 5. It's called growing into the stadium. As we become more of a top 25 program over the next few years, there naturally be more butts in the seats. It isn't going to happen overnight. Some programs have been playing for over 100 years, we have been playing for 10. In some of the bigger games (Miami) over the next few years, we will start filling it up or at least come close to filling it up. We do need an OCS, but you need it around 55-60K. If you sell the program short and only had a 40-50K seat stadium, what happens when your program grows. Then you have to expand. Something you have to think about. Also, I think and OCS would naturally add fans to the games.
  22. The whistle must have blown, because he clearly was not down.
  23. We should have been up 28-3 going into 4th, not 14-10. Their TD was a gimme, and we had 2 long drives that we would have scored if not for stupid turnovers. If we had played right the first 3 quarters, final score would have been 55-3.
  24. I live just down I-10 from you in San Antonio. Good luck the rest of the season.
