  1. I think we should not only have no names on the jerseys, but also no numbers. Guys just out there in fully blank jerseys
  2. After we crush a terrible terrible FAMU team the talk of beating FSU will be hysterical.
  3. superficial surface comparisons can be done to USF as well. USF < USF -- The Bulls lost their starting quarterback and best WR in school history. The Bulls went 4-8 last year, but according to the computers regressed statistically year over year from their 2-10 season ranking them in the bottom 10-20 teams in all of college football.
  4. Pump the breaks a bit on the "one of the top defensive coaches in the SEC" banners. Tom Allen was a line bakers coach for two years at Ole Miss. Not the architect of the 4-2-5 scheme there. A position coach.
  5. he didn't lie He didn't have the opportunity to. So we don't know if he would or wouldn't have
  6. I think it's fair to note that USF's 2014 F/+ ranking was 123. Green and gold glasses off, we need a major improvement to hit the 6-6 mark. We'll need to legitimately move into the top 60 or get a little lucky in the 70's/80's to get there. That's a 40-60 spot improvement year over year, just to get to 6-6.
  7. USF better build something bigger than Rungrado 1st of May Stadium or not even bother
  8. Yeah, we lost pretty badly to FAU two years ago. We weren't really much better last year. I don't see how we can really make a great case to be clearly better than anyone.
  9. FIU beat FAU........and both prob would've beaten USF last year. I don't think you realize just how bad USF was last year. Seriously, about 6 or 7 plays was the difference between 4-8 and 0-12. Even still, USF looked like crap in all 4 of those wins There is no way USF was "6 or 7" plays from 0-12... USF was no where near losing WCU and U Conn (and the rain makes everyone look like crap)... SMU was the only game where we were one play from losing - but White engineered two great dries to win the game... Tulsa it took some time, but that second half was a thing of beauty. USF was also exactly three plays from 6-6... so USF was not "BAD" ... USF was inexperienced (as the 2nd or 3rd overall youngest team in FBS) and had problems with focus (hence so many dumb penalties)... and because our OL could not protect the QB, teams simply stacked the box against the run. Maybe you missed the Tulsa game, but a play or two could have easily turned that game into a loss as well.
  10. Amazing! I'm cracking up at my desk with that one. I've gotten a call from some of the basketball team over the years, which was pretty cool (One was Stan Heath!). That said, unless you're a women's soccer season ticket holder, they should limit the people making the calls to the football and basketball players/coaches. I appreciate the idea, but making the women's soccer teams make these calls is silly.
  11. Oh, and Bobby Eveld should have started over BJ Daniels. That's what really held Skip back from succeeding.
  12. So, you're suggesting it's the guy that sold JPP fireworks that is the problem?
  13. That's a completely fair and level evaluation. The most optimistic evaluation I can muster: Let's say our offense is much improved #80 (-1.3) instead of #116 (-7.2) Let's say our defense is much improved #50 (2.6) instead of #74 (-0.7) That would put or total "score" at 1.6 which would rank us at #59 overall. Though, there's no way we're 40 spots better on offense and 25 spots better on defense. Maybe we get one or the other. Maybe we get a little bit of both. But when being #59 out of 128 is a wild exaggeration, things are not going well.
  14. TV won't matter? TV is the only thing that matters. Well, not really. But very nearly. Aren't Cincy and USF the biggest TV markets left unaccounted for? Per Nielsen , it's Houston @ 10 and us at @13 of the names that have been thrown around. Cincy is lower than Hartford ... That is surprising. Nobody will argue the TV market size for Tampa. It is really more does that translate into viewers for USF or are they still going to watch the other Florida schools? That argument is silly. Only die-hards will tune in to watch USF play (Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, ECU, SMU, Temple [pick one]). USF will easily carry the market playing B12 teams.
  15. I've got a solid 4 of 5. When my wife finishes her fellowship program and gets her first real job, I can step into the "willingness to take risks" catagory. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do, but it will be something.
  16. With the upper decks closed (to season ticket holders) the lower bowl should be reasonably full for this one. It's the first game of the season, which will get a bump in attendance in general. Couple that with playing FAMU who tend to bring a pretty strong contingent to watch the band. I would gather the attendance to be fairly good.
