  1. Smazza has been positve all week... scary Could this be a sign? or a problem...
  2. Even if we really were 52.... they arn't really 46.... (even though thats what that retarded poll says) Ohh well, "no respect... no respect at all..."
  3. Who is FAU? Seriously, I always thought you guys were one in the same, couldn't understand why you couldn't pick between I and A. Hope you were kidding....just in case, they are two different universities: FAU http://www.fau.edu/index.php FIU http://www.fiu.edu/ No.... they merged Athletic programs... why else would ESPN list them the same??? just kidding... DUH
  4. Be fair... CBS Sportline 119 rated them at 115 out of 119.... hey FIUer... hows Temple and FAU doing down there? I can't say I agree with us being #52... but as long as we arn't over 100.... http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/polls/119/index2
  5. I like the smack from a TEAM Just remember who we are playing... F_U!!!!!!!!!! The ESPN Bottom Ten: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2573548&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos2
  6. Offical ticket information will be advertised in the Oracle for two days. All you need are 1) Name(s) 2) U-number(s) (yes you can buy multiple tickets, with valid U-numbers) Expect them to release the tickets late this week or early next week. Less than 500 left (80 or so given as prizes). Large lists of U-numbers are expected, get in early! Remember, CURRENT TAMPA CAMPUS STUDENTS ONLY! Unless your branch campus is offering a deal, please remember you CAN still buy tickets from the athletic dept on athletics website.
  7. Anyone who does make a gift, thank you very much. At this point in the program, we really need the funds to do things like get those uniforms. I really do believe that it is important that the world sees a UNIfied USF! Thanks again.
  8. It has changed a little... but that was the last photo released to the Oracle last year.
  9. Exactly what I was trying to say... thank you. Still the same, we are trying to work out comunication to help these SG's get these deals, or at least know they can!
  10. I'll be honest... I am not sure. I'll e-mail the question right now to our student life director. You may be able to... you need... AT LEAST... the U number. I'll make sure, but for now I would say yes.
  11. Our hands are tied by state law. The current way the USF System is structured, we can not use the fee funds for other branchs. We are currently working with the administration to look into ways of co-operating with other branch SG's better. That would allow them to get into the same deals we do, while using their funds. We hope to fix this problem soon.
  12. Sitting in the senate meeting right now.... UCF tickets for USF Students -$5 with valid current USF ID at the Marshall Center Info Desk -Sell date TBA -Students MUST be from the Tampa Campus (Each Campus has an SG, with A&S money being collected from only that campus, A&S funds can not benifit those who do not pay them) -I am not aware of effort by an branch campus to obtain tickets.
  13. BTW: -$5 tickets (almost sure the price hasn't changed, I'll get you a final answer tonight) (SG subsidized the rest of the price) -CURRENT REGISTERED STUDENTS ONLY (State law on use of Activity and Service fee use, the funds that were used to pay for the tickets)
  14. Hopefully I'll have in my hands on one of the ads... or at least an offical statement. I'll also have our athletic guy start checking this forum.... I don't think he does....
  15. The thing is...this bulletin board is not the official etched-in-stone communicaitons method for USF. It could well be that something like that was in the works, and the other very real possibility is that it was a rumor that took root. I'd look for something from the university (officially) or a post from Eric Soncrant before I focused on $5.00 tix. I think there's also some SBC folks who hit this board as well. The SG deal was mostly set up through Student Organizations and was started at the McNeese St WBUL Student Radio Tailgate. Check the other other thead for more info, I'll get as much as I can tonight. AND remember... we are targeting students.... and lets admit it... most of the active people on this forum are alumni, which we can't subsidize tickets for (state law for use of Activity and Service Fees). That might be why we haven't updated everyone here! Besides... I'm a lobbyist... sorry. I know very little about the athletic's deals. We have another guy doing that stuff.
  16. I will get you guys a decent bit of info later today. From what I know... we have a long list of people waiting for the 500 tickets we have. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the Marhsall Center Informaton desk. Exactly how the tickets are being sold (limits, restrictions, etc) have yet to be finalized. I will get something hopefully tonight at the SG Senate meeting.
  17. spazza changes his mind a decent amount of times... but none the less I'm glad he agreed with the better side on that one. What can I say... the band needs a funding boost! I'll look around... but other than a few pics on a posterboard in the band office... I haven't seen anything from the first few years. I think when Sid left his crazy web site did too...
  18. Yea Zero... you should send some pics to me... I don't have anything online for the first years. Check http://band.arts.usf.edu/media.htm
  19. We would sell CD's.... once we can produce one. Already posted why we can't. Look out for it next year. I'll try to get somes files up for you die hards asap. No idea how fast.
  20. You're both right. RayJay's design doesn't allow for the band to echo off the west side so the rest of the stadium can hear - so playing from the northeast corner means only the west side of the stadium can hear. I remember sitting on the east side last year for a couple of games and I never heard the band. Yea... the location isn't the best... but we need the stairs to get on the field (we used to have to go through the food area which always become hell). They won't move the stairs, prolly with the students section need to rush the field. Good and bad with both though.
  21. 19 sousas and I was asked by a lot of people about playing to the east the guy above is right... we switch off every other game. East, west, east, west... but the pre-game show is always to the west. and shoop... we have tested ray jay... its impossible to ever hear us in the south end... thats just a pro-stadium's acustics for ya.
  22. Official Statement Concerning our CD: The University of South Florida 'Herd of Thunder' Athletic Bands regrets to announce that we will no longer be producing a Compact Disc this year. Our goal is to provide USF fans with a quality product for a reasonable price, which accurately represents the music you hear on Game Day. Due to recording quality, copyright issues, and music changes, we cannot meet those criteria at this point in time. The Athletic Bands hope to make some recordings available for download on the Internet within the next few weeks. We appreciate your patience, and hope you understand that the primary reason for the delay is so we can provide you with a product which will you will be satisfied with for many seasons to come.
