DO SOMETHING
I am a die hard Bull’s fan. I bleed green & gold just like the rest of most of you. Last night was a hard pill to swallow but you know that challenge that was put before us as Bull’s doesn’t just apply to the players or coaches.
What is our role as a Bull’s fan.
So far all I have seen is complaining and pointing fingers. I was always taught when you start pointing fingers you should always look at the 3 pointing back at you. The major complaint is no talent, coaching, they don’t understand Bull’s Pride. Well moaning and groaning about things I understand helps soothe the savage beast so to speak but it still does not heal a bleeding wound.
So I am ready as a fan to “Do Something†that hopefully can make a difference in these player’s lives. I am not going to sit by and be part of the problem, I want to be part of the solution. We are just as much a part of this team as those on the field.
I have lived quite a few years and seen a lot of adversity in my life and so have many of you. We learned from it hopefully. However maybe it’s time to pass on that wisdom that we have learned and make a difference in these players. Let them see the heart of a true Bull!
I am laying a challenge before each of you. Think of what it would say to each player if a huge amount of letters arrives to our football team this week prior to them leaving for Michigan. These letters would be filled with words of encouragement and what it means to us to be Bulls Nation. This would be a letter written to the team to let them know when they go on that field they take us on the field with them. We never give up and when our backs are against the wall we come out fighting. That is what a bull does. No one can tame it. Just think for minute if each person & coach on that team got one or more of these letters handed to them. Let them feel Bull Pride in action rather than seeing nothing but complaining and criticism.
Our team needs fans that are going to walk along side them even when the chips are down. This is a tangible way we can “Do Something†to show our support. Even if I am the only fan who does this at least I “Did Somethingâ€!
It’s time we as fans stand along side the team and help get them through this. We need to dig deep like we are asking them to do and here is the address to send these letters:
University of South Florida
Attn: USF Football @ Leroy Selmon Athletic Center
4202 E. Fowler Ave.
Tampa, Florida 33620
Or better yet email an attached letter to Willie’s Executive Assistant, Julia Reed @ juliareed@usf.edu. Just put in the subject line: Team Encouragement Letter. Can you imagine coming in to work and have your email box blown up by letters of encouragement instead of complaining.
