  1. Just speaking the truth BullDoug. I think Cincy will go back to being what they were in the 80s, a mediocre basketball team. They remind me of Houston in the mid 80s with Guy Lewis. What happened to them when he retired? Bottom of the SWC and Conference USA. Mediocre. Which is exactly what USF basketball is right now. Whether you like it or not, its the truth. That being said, Go Bulls!
  2. Someone at USA Today is going to pass out, when they find out USF is first over Pitt and Louisville.
  3. Wow, this is big news for Cincy. That is going to be a tough situation for a new coach. I think they will disappear from the rankings in the next couple of years and be like............well USF hoops.
  4. What is Coach Leavitt's contract length right now? Didn't they re-up with him long term after Alabama and Indiana came calling a couple of years ago? I think he does have a contract through 2010 or so. Not sold on the b-ball Coach, although he has his hands full with that program. We haven't had the recruits in the last couple of seasons. Big East should get us some, but we'll likely take our lumps to some really good teams.
  5. I didn't see Scott's email address, so I sent en email to John Gerdes. If he can't help, I don't know who would have that info, since he runs the Sports Information department. I'll keep you posted on what I hear........
  6. Yeah, I thought that was strange about the archives only going back to '02. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Would the SID be the guy to email?
  7. HowieP, good stuff. Maybe you can answer this question. Why isn't there archives of the first few seasons on the main USF website? I've tried to locate these before and had no luck whatsoever. I'd like to see some of those stats from the early days.
  8. I gotta go old school and say Charlie Jackson was the best WR at USF. He never disappointed in that first year.
  9. Sorry, its listed under the Dave Wannstedt article about Pitt on the main sports page.
  10. It should only make us stronger at WR. CJL knows best, since he sees them in practice everyday. Hopefully both of them have breakout seasons. Go Bulls!
  11. Right now on USA Today, there is a poll on who will win the Big East. Currently USF only has 1% of first place votes. That is pathetic. Only 4 voters out of 400. C'mon people show your support online at USA Today. Go Bulls!
  12. I think its a way for Tampa city officials to "save a little face" from what happened years ago in the FAMU/BCC Classic. I think it falls somewhere between conniving and honest. How many fans will FAMU bring into this game??
  13. As long as "Kicker" makes his kicks, than I have no problem with it at all.
  14. Until USF starts winning in the Big East, JuCo transfers will always be welcome. Miami, UF, and FSU don't have many of these simply because they don't need to have them. In this day and age its probably a good thing. I think kids who don't start for one school nowadays, are always looking for a better situation. This wasn't the case 15-20 years ago. It was a big deal to transfer. It just didn't happen that much. But it happens alot nowadays.
  15. Connecticut's only pro team is actually the WNBA. They haven't had the Whalers (NHL) for years. But judging from their basketball programs (both men and women) , they seem to support the teams that do well. And UConn is on the way up in football, very similar to USF. How many USF alums live in the Tampa Bay area? We should get more than 20,000 season ticket holders based on this.
  16. In Atlanta, watch the game at Frankies Sports Bar, just inside the Perimeter on Roswell Road. I was told that there would be 20-25 USF alums at this place. Go Bulls!!
  17. I don't think that changes the fact, that both QBs will play in Happy Valley. Having a more mobile QB versus their impressive D might help out, so that would be an advantage to Denson. But I still think Julmiste will see some snaps, if not start outright.
  18. Leavitt has earned a few more seasons. Now if USF goes 4-7 or 5-6 the next two years, his time will be up. But, this team he has is only going to get better, so a coaching change wouldn't help but rather hurt the team in the long run. Get off Leavitt's back, he's earned more respect than this discussion.
  19. Yep, as of right now, I'll be heading down to Frankies for that game. If that changes I'll let you know.
  20. Beastie, are you still going to watch the game at Frankies with the other Bulls faithful?
  21. Now if we could just get someone to throw them the ball we'd be scary. Especially when you mix in Hall, thats a serious one two punch.
  22. Lets hear it Bulls fans, two weeks to Happy Valley!! Go Bulls Go!!!
  23. Yeah, I don't like that UCF one either. How about......O'Leary, O'Lied?
  24. Jim, you're right about the trick play. Remember the OU game? I believe it was the start of the second quarter with the game still tied at zero. We ran a halfback pass to perfection for a TD, but it got called back on a flag. After that play, everything went downhill. Leavitt loves to pull out trickeration, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see it in the PSU game. They won't pull it out if its a blowout, but if the game is close I'd be looking for it.
  25. I'm OK with it being a tuneup game. Whatever makes USF get into more homes and opens up the door for us in the future. And who knows, anything can happen on a given Saturday in the fall. Go Bulls!
