  1. ND only brings out the green jerseys as gimmick type games anymore, the last being against Boston College in 2002. I grew up a ND fan and can tell you no true Irish fan likes them wearing green. In fact the last three times they've worn them they've lost. ND's colors are Madonna Blue and Gold.
  2. All I'm saying is to try to keep the tradition as much as possible. Since we're only 10 years old, we don't have much tradition to build on, so its nice to keep what little we have. But, if it helps us win ballgames, I'm OK with the change. Go Bulls!
  3. Velcro, you're probably right about not being able to tell the color from the stands. So why not keep the dark green, which is their true color? Wouldn't that make more sense than to change it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....reminds me of the New Coke scam.....
  4. USF needs to stand alone in their colors, or people will mikstake them for UCF. How many of us grads have had to correct people when we say USF, and they ask, "oh, the school in Orlando?" Black only clouds it up even more in my opinion.
  5. White has always been in our color scheme for football. They've always worn white jerseys on the road, and if I recall the very first football game in USF history, they wore white pants. Tradition Bulls!!
  6. Doesn't the athletic department realize that our colors are Green and Gold, not Black and Gold? That is pathetic.... Since when is black in the USF color scheme??
  7. I'm not a fan of the green on green. I like Green Jersey and White pants with stripes down the side of the leg for home games. On the road I like the Green pants with the white Jersey. And keep the Gold Helmet. It's just about the only tradition we have with football at USF. Go Bulls!!
  8. When you break down each QB and their stats, they are very similar. Patterson threw for about 280 more yards for the entire season, but they had an extra game (bowl game). Julmiste actually ran for 50 more yards so its basically a wash. Syracuse will definitely be favored going in, unless the Bulls have a serious turnaround. Most likely somewhere in the 10-12 point range. But favorites sometime lose when they shouldn't ala USF versus Army last year or Syracuse versus Temple.
  9. It looks like I'll only be making the UCF game this year. I've been waiting for this one a long time, so I can't miss it. Plus like many Bulls fans, I have some good Knights fans, so we're making a big deal out of it. We've been talking about a possible matchup for 10 years it semms. Hopefully they push 50,000 through the gates that day, if not more.
  10. I'm not sold on Patterson, much like I'm not sold on Julmiste. To call him another McNabb is a bit of a stretch. I wouldn't call Julmiste another Blackwell. I believe both had more INTs than TDs last year. Sure enough, Patterson had 10 picks and 7 TDs. I'm not saying it will be an easy win, as none of our games will be. But, USF should be able to hang with them and possibly win it in the end.
  11. 5-6 or 6-5 is truly where I think they will finish, but I'm hoping I'll see a better team on the field this year. I agree with you about RU, 'Cuse, and UConn being tough, but these are teams we have to beat or we will be cellar dwellars with the Bearcats. West Virginia probably is a loss, but they did lose some key people.
  12. Here is a breakdown of the USF schedule with Must Wins, Winnable Games, and Probable Losses. I believe USF can finish anywhere between 5-6 to 8-3 depending on what happens in those 3 crucial Winnable games. at Penn State- Certainly a Winnable game depending which Julmiste and defense show up. Pounding Hall will help keep the clock rolling and should make for a low scoring game. FAMU- Must Win UCF- Must Win Louisville- Loss. They are the class of the Big East this season. at Miami- Loss. Not the Miami of old, but still Miami. at Pitt- Loss. Tremendous offensive potential, with a defense to match. West Virginia- Winnable Game. Two things are in USF's favor in this one. One it is a home game and two it could be a letdown week after WVU plays UofL the week before. Plus they lost their starting QB, their highest Rusher, and leading receiver. at Rutgers- Must Win. This will be tougher than it sounds considering RU returns its three best weapons on offense (QB, RB, and WR). But if USF plans on playing in December, this has to be a win. Also, RU has to play Louisville the following week only 5 days later. at Syracuse- Winnable Game. They have a similiar QB problem like USF, similar RB like USF, and similar question marks around the whole team. Plus maybe they are looking ahead to Notre Dame the following week. Cincinnati- Must Win at home. UConn- Must Win. Another tough test, but if USF wants to compete with the Big Boys of the conference, they must win tough road games. QB Dan Orlovsky is gone, but the Huskies are still explosive on the ground. I'd like to hear what some other Bulls fans thoughts are about the schedule and my takes.
  13. If I'm not mikstaken, the Conference USA games are covered by ESPN during the week. Saturdays are for the teams with a BCS shot, while Wednesday games will be for C-USA teams.
  14. Sounds good Beastie, although I'm not sure if we can talk too much smack with our QB situation. Frankie's should be a good time as long as those Bama fans aren't there. There's also a Buffalo Wild Wings at Northridge and Roswell. I know a bartender there and he told me he'll definitely put the game on for me. That could be an option too.
  15. I live in Sandy Springs just off Northridge, so I'm not far from you or Frankie's for that matter. I'm a Class of 95 grad. I thought Frankie's was an Alabama and Georgia Tech bar. Could be an issue depending on the schedules of each team.
  16. First time poster, but are there any other Atlanta area Bulls fans? Would love to meet up with some other USF fans to watch the Penn State game. Also, is there a Bulls bar that caters to all of the games? Go Bulls Go!! JoeB
