  1. I was just on the PSU Message Board on Scouts, and had a hard time finding any conversations about the Bulls. I'm sure they don't know much about USF, but could they be taking us lightly? I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.....
  2. Go to a sports bar and they'll have ESPNU. At least if its a decent sports bar, it should have some sort of ESPN football package.
  3. I think he's right. Some schools never got into taking JuCo transfers. I can't recall any for ND in years past, and I think Michigan is the same way. Penn St. is old school in that aspect.
  4. KB, that would do the trick. The University of Alabama at Auburn....I like that one.
  5. This drives me nuts too. A friend of mine here in Atlanta calls USF, University of Southern Florida every time I bring them up. He knows the correct name but refuses to say it correctly. He just says it to get under my skin, and it works, so I try to ignore it. Hopefully he'll know the name when we beat the hell out of Auburn in '07..... Go Bulls!
  6. As scary as it sounds, no one knows the offense better than PJ at this point. Maybe in a month it will be a different story. But going into a hostile road game doesn't bode well for a brand new QB, so we'll probably be stuck with Julmiste in the opener. I just hope he improved dramatically from last year. Go Bulls!
  7. I could see CJL using Denson around the goal line ala Brian Fisher. Confuse the defense by switching to a goal line option attack. He's done it in the past, so don't be surprised.
  8. I don't think its a terrible thing to travel to Miami by bus. Those players are going to be so amped up to play in the Orange Hole against the 'Canes that 5 hours will fly by. Now the ride back to Tampa might seem like 10 hours depending on how many points are rolled up. I can't figure out why more people don't get season tickets. With all of the alumni in the Tampa/St. Pete area, you'd think we'd be up around 25,000.
  9. I believe all three of those teams originally had grey facemasks. USC tinkered with theirs and went to that garnett color for a few years, and UCLA went to a dark blue for a time period, but I believe they all went back to the original grey. Why? Tradition! While I'm not a fan of Spurrier or the Gators, he brought back blue jerseys and grass turf based on the past, so he earned a little bit of respect.
  10. S. Bien, I understand your point. At this stage it is very subtle. Other teams in the past have made subtle changes to uniforms with black, and it becomes a primary color. Look at a team in our old conference, TCU. They used to be Purple and White, and now they have black jerseys. Northwestern is another that comes to mind, as is DePaul in hoops. Hawaii is another. And I won't even list all of the NFL teams that go that route. Tradition is Green. As long as they don't change the primary color than its not a big deal.
  11. BullHeaded, well said. If no one can tell the color difference, go with the Green?
  12. I like Nicholas' response to Jones. He should be concentrating on stopping Penn State in Happy Valley.
  13. Yep, if we pulled out black jerseys with green trim, we'd look like Hawaii. That would be terrible. My point is to keep Green as tradition. I'd hate to have black somehow outweigh the green as the primary color in the future, especially with jerseys.
  14. Bullfreak, good point. I believe John Lynch was a QB at Stanford prior to moving to DB/Safety. It probably does help the mental aspect of playing D.
  15. How about a Marquel Blackwell (#10) throwback?
  16. ND only brings out the green jerseys as gimmick type games anymore, the last being against Boston College in 2002. I grew up a ND fan and can tell you no true Irish fan likes them wearing green. In fact the last three times they've worn them they've lost. ND's colors are Madonna Blue and Gold.
  17. All I'm saying is to try to keep the tradition as much as possible. Since we're only 10 years old, we don't have much tradition to build on, so its nice to keep what little we have. But, if it helps us win ballgames, I'm OK with the change. Go Bulls!
  18. Velcro, you're probably right about not being able to tell the color from the stands. So why not keep the dark green, which is their true color? Wouldn't that make more sense than to change it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....reminds me of the New Coke scam.....
  19. USF needs to stand alone in their colors, or people will mikstake them for UCF. How many of us grads have had to correct people when we say USF, and they ask, "oh, the school in Orlando?" Black only clouds it up even more in my opinion.
  20. White has always been in our color scheme for football. They've always worn white jerseys on the road, and if I recall the very first football game in USF history, they wore white pants. Tradition Bulls!!
  21. Doesn't the athletic department realize that our colors are Green and Gold, not Black and Gold? That is pathetic.... Since when is black in the USF color scheme??
  22. I'm not a fan of the green on green. I like Green Jersey and White pants with stripes down the side of the leg for home games. On the road I like the Green pants with the white Jersey. And keep the Gold Helmet. It's just about the only tradition we have with football at USF. Go Bulls!!
  23. When you break down each QB and their stats, they are very similar. Patterson threw for about 280 more yards for the entire season, but they had an extra game (bowl game). Julmiste actually ran for 50 more yards so its basically a wash. Syracuse will definitely be favored going in, unless the Bulls have a serious turnaround. Most likely somewhere in the 10-12 point range. But favorites sometime lose when they shouldn't ala USF versus Army last year or Syracuse versus Temple.
  24. It looks like I'll only be making the UCF game this year. I've been waiting for this one a long time, so I can't miss it. Plus like many Bulls fans, I have some good Knights fans, so we're making a big deal out of it. We've been talking about a possible matchup for 10 years it semms. Hopefully they push 50,000 through the gates that day, if not more.
  25. I'm not sold on Patterson, much like I'm not sold on Julmiste. To call him another McNabb is a bit of a stretch. I wouldn't call Julmiste another Blackwell. I believe both had more INTs than TDs last year. Sure enough, Patterson had 10 picks and 7 TDs. I'm not saying it will be an easy win, as none of our games will be. But, USF should be able to hang with them and possibly win it in the end.
