  1. You see Omni, this is what makes some of you guys such fools. "I have heard", exatly what have your heard? Now you have an inside source in the UCF locker room. I am sure UCF really is putting that much towards USF. If you have read any concerning UCF this year, the goal is to go to a bowl game. That requires six wins, not one.
  2. Ah Cyber, you should lose your moderator status again, this time for starting crap on this board.
  3. I would say any incoming kid would be considered a sleeper considering they have not played a down of college ball. In that case I would say: 1. Rocky Ross 2. Joe Burnett 3a. Antonio Wallace 3b. Clarence Howard If you notice its mostly defense. God I love that.
  4. Bien, I think you need to chill out a little. I said Grothe could transfer if he is not starting. What is wrong with that, hell, USF has gotten what, ten tranfers within the past three months? I don't care what his father said, ask him two years from now if his son is not starting.
  5. That is if he stays. I don't think Matt will stand quietly behind Hill or any other QB. I think if Matt is not starting by next year, he won't be a Bull for long.
  6. Be careful how you use the term "directing." As a Coach, Kohn has to do what is best for his kids, not his alma mater.
  7. I think there is a much more important question that needs to be asked: They still make Old Spice? Just my opinion, but off all the QB's that USF has, as a UCF fan, I would like to have Grothe the most. There is just something about his kid that makes me think he is going to be one hell of a QB. He is not getting much press, but I would bet he will be your starter by the time he is a Soph.
  8. The thing about Poe is, the kid never seemed to get a break. He verbals to FSU, than he suffers the knee injury during his senior season. FSU never sends the LOI for him to sign and he signs with UCF. Two more knee issues than the neck thing. I know his mother and the story of Poe is just one bad luck break after another. Paul seems to be very much like Poe in that respect. I don't know Paul or his father, but I have spoken to Paul at various UCF events and he just seems like a solid kid. I hope if football is his passion he makes it back on the field soon. But for now, I just hope he recovers and shows no sign of injury.
  9. As of now he seems to be okay, although the severity of his injury is not known, at least to the public. I don't know if an injury like this is career ending or the player can make it back. Paul had movement in his limbs so the worst was avoided. Lets just hope any of us don't have to see something like that again. I watched Antonie Poe go through that, it seems to happen to the best kids we have and I am talking about off the field kids.
  10. You just have no clue as to the money down their. Have you ever been to Boca. There is a certain Indian Tribe that is just waiting pounce all over this.
  11. The biggest benefit of making a bowl game, non national championship, is the extra practice time the team gets, about a month more than non bowl teams. UCF lost over half of their practices last year due to weather, this year UCF has not missed a day. How many practices has USF missed so far this year?
  12. Wrong again, anyone that listened to GOL last year would tell you that he said it was a three year process and don't expect much out of the 2004 season. At the kickoff luncheon he clearly said this year, he just wants to teach the kids to compete for 60 minutes. Now this year, he has a different tune. As for him being on the hot seat, I have not read or heard one booster complaining about GOL. I know a lot of people that give to the program and none of them are concerned about GOL.
  13. What does the City of Boca have to do with rich alumni? I said there was a lot of money in Boca and I right, its not the citizens fault that they have morons running the government.
  14. Culpepper will be better this year, sure the big play might be taken away, but Daunte showed last year he knows how to spread the ball around. The scary thing about Daunte this year is, he will have the ball more. The Vikings finally found a way to improve the defensive talent on the team. I don't think losing Moss is that big of a deal, he was a distraction that was not worth it, plus, this Williamson kid out of USC is going to cause problems for defenses. Oh and Leftwich is a joke. This will be his last season as a starter.
  15. More smoke and mirrors from the USF crowd. I don't think I ever applied for the job.
  16. They will get this done, one way or another and the way they are going about it is the right way. Screw what the papers or locals think, its the schools property to do what they wish with. There is a lot of money in Boca and FAU has a lot of wealthy, powerful alumni.
  17. Where do you get this from. I have never bashed USF radio, its hard considering UCF is so weak in that same area.
  18. Your Oline won't be as bad as UCF's was last year, that is about impossible considering the youth that UCF had to go with last year. That being said, I just can't understand why you think your QB play will improve. No one is doubting that talent level is higher, but you are putting stock in kids that have never played a down of college football. One thing is for sure, your Oline will not be as good as last year, put that with a QB that has never played and you have a receipe for disaster. If Hall can get good yardage on his first down carries, USF should be okay, but if the Oline doesn't open up wholes for him, QB is a sitting target.
  19. Yes I know that, but they are funding the whole thing with bonds. You have to wonder as good as college baseball is in Florida, why USF never built a stadium. USF never had to build its own basketball arena and did not have football expenses until eight years ago. So what the hell did USF do with that student fee revenue.
  20. You have to wonder why USF has not built a new baseball stadium. They are not that expensive when you compare it to other athletic facilities.
  21. Sorry, I did not read that. Either way, the Notre Dame deal with the Big East is a bad deal for the Big East.
  22. Maybe so but the Sun/Gator is skewed because you have the ND factor there who does not split money with the Big East for football. Both the Gator and Sun will take a six win ND team over a ten win Big East team anyday.
  23. the word was he got his test score, but his GPA needed to be raised. I don't know how you do that in the kids last semester in school.
  24. From everything I have read, it is going to take a miracle for this kid to make grades.  Even if he did get his test score, he is fairly far away GPA wise.  Why not just go JUCO and worry about Div 1 in two years.  As a DE, he will do just fine with two years of Div 1.
