  1. Not really. If you get blown out, chances are you are not very good. If you play a close game, chances are you have a decent team. Either way, you always are better your second game.
  2. Do you guys think your Oline is better than USC? Tomorrow will show a lot. I don't get to excited with first games.
  3. As happy as I am about what I saw last night, it was only the first game. Many things can happen in a first game. What usually tells about a season is the second game. By then teams have film on you and can prepare a more complete game plan.
  4. UEI, I know this is foreign to you, but that is called football. When a player hits another player, it can cause fumbles. When a player throws a ball, it can be intercepted. As far as I saw, I did not see the USC team hand UCF the ball, well, once they did.
  5. 1. Did the USC guy just drop the ball or did he get hit. 2. The ball was falling out when he was falling. He did not have control of the ball. With replay and the SEC officials, if they could have overturned it, they would have. 3. That was a muff. But if UCF did not have good coverage, he would not have muffed it. Glenroy Watkins was killing their return guys and the punt returner knew it. So what your saying is, every turn over USF gets, its a freebie.
  6. You did not get them because you did not earn them. There are no "freebees" in football. When someone fumbles, its because someone hit them. I would say UCF game a few "freebee's" away as well.
  7. Triple, unlike Cuban here, I don't have a second favorite team. My team is UCF and there are no others. I trash UM because they play by their own rules. As a NON State school, I don't care for them much. Their fan base is nothing more than a bunch of bandwagon fans. Bianchi was dead on. No other school in the country could have so much success and still not be able to sell out a game.
  8. It really does not matter. For this argument, with the cost of land, it makes no sense for a University to go out and purchase this type of land for a stadium that does not generate that much revenue.
  9. Actually false. Most major retailers do own their land. Home Depot, Wal Mart, Lowes, Target and so on all own their own land. It is rare that any of these actually lease. In Florida, you are charged sales tax on leases. That can be a hefty penny every year.
  10. Miami will always be known as thugs. Miami will always be known for wearing fatigues and getting their ass kicked by Penn State. Miami will always be known for Luther Campbell Miami will always be known as the school wanted more by the FBI than the NCAA. Miami will always be known for cheating. Miami will NEVER be looked upon as a real Florida school.
  11. I disagree. The only time the Orange Dump is sold out is when UF or FSU is playing there. When either of those two teams play in an Orange Bowl without UM, they have no problem selling it out. I just don't understand why Cane fans don't want to accept that they have the thug following. They don't have real fans. I am a native Floridian and I have met only one UM alum. I have worked all over the state as well.
  12. This argument would hold water if not for one thing. When UF plays at UM, there are more UF fans than UM fans.
  13. Agreed, but land is land. Its hard for those landowners to sell that land and replace it in their portfolio. None of those land owners want to show the gain on sale and pay those taxes and to do an exchange is getting very difficult.
  14. JimUSFsig is correct, but let me take it a step further. There are many owners of that mall, that is why it has yet to be redeveloped. For instance, Dillards owns their parcel, Sears owns theirs, Burlington Coat Factory owns theirs then their is another company that owns the front store. I have not even touched the outparcel issues. There have been some major retailers trying to figure out how to purchase that thing, but its got way to many moving parts at this time.
  15. 27 graduates in 16 years. That is all that needs to be said.
  16. I love it, threatened a law suit. Now its time for the non BCS conferences to sue the BCS again.
  17. I would love to have some big time tranfers, but not if they only get two years to play. I would much rather have a kid for four years who grows through the system. Tell me, what is the difference between a JUCO star and a transfer with two years left to play.
  18. Transfers can be good or bad, considering how much time they have left and why they are transferring. I just wonder how this works out come recruiting time. I would think schools recruiting against USF could possible use this against them. All one has to do is say that, "sure they say you will play this position or that position, but they take transfers consistantly and you never know who will transfer next." Or it could be said that "Sure you are the only WR we are taking this year." And that is true until they get a transfer. All one has to do is look at Carlton Hill. UM told him that he most likley would be a WR, but USF told him he would get a chance to play QB. Now I know I will get blasted for this, but how much chance did he really get, a week or two as a true freshman. Now he is practicing as a WR. Now comes Amp Hill and Pat Carter. Where will Carlton Hill end up next. This is not bashing, this is for argument sake. Tranfers are nice in moderation.
  19. What else is there to do at UCONN? What is the closest other Div 1 football team?
  20. Cyber, I added something to the conversation. If you don't like my rep, get over it. There are other moderators and administrators that don't just look at who is posting, but actually look at the post. I am a firm believer that if USF loses to UCF, Leavitt will be hearing the foot steps of the AD.
  21. Mav, you should know that cyber starts most of the BS and also breaks most of the rules. That is why he does not go to the unmoderated board too often, without his little delete button he can't hang in an argument for more than one post.
  22. Bulldoug, to a point you are right, but you are missing the big picture.  Does O'Leary want to beat USF, I am sure he does.  Does he want to beat them more than Marshall, I doubt it.  I don't know if O'Learyis a lifer at UCF, but I do know he is here at least five years.  Fact is, UCF can pay as much for a coach as many of the mid level BCS teams.  O'Leary gets paid quite well.  Also, UCF is doing everything he is asking for and by the time his contract is up, so will the BCS and also a good chance of more conference shakeups.  GOL has not singled out any game.  If there is one game to single out, it would not be USF, it would be USC because of the national TV audiance. Its amazing cyber, everyone else seems to be able to speak respectfully, that is except you.  Due to your blind hatred for UCF, you can't even have one post without a slam.  Sad
  23. As much as you hate UCF cyber, no one goes into a season with the goal of winning one game. Maybe in your life you have such low goals, but most people set goals, that when achieved, mean something. Yes Omni, they are fans as I am. I have no access into GOL's inner circle. I have no access into the locker room. What I hear is reported on either message boards or in the newspapers. Sure I know people in the AD's office, but they hardly call me with updates from practice. What I do know of GOL is, he is an old time football coach. He is not going to circle one game and put the whole season on it, especially the second game of the season.
