  1. I am stunned. No BS here, I don't know what to think. MikeG says" "NOPE-- my problem with this entire situation is the government. How do they figure that a guy like Fisher can afford this money in the first place? I serioucly doubt he has a job other than school and football. Even if he does, you are talking about 4-500 dollars a month. Most college kids are happy as clams if they can scratch that much together for themselves, let alone someone else. I don't see how they calculated the number. " The numbers are based upon the income of the mother and father. Then there is a table, you find the column of the number of kids involved, go down to the total amount of of income and thats it. The mother pays a certain percentage as the father. $480 a month fo two kids is probably the minimum. I have friends that pay over $2,000 for one child. He is lucky, his kids are not. "As for the mothers-- they seem to have jumped the gun on this IMO. Perhaps they are not the ones hounding Fisher for the money (the state loves to throws its weight around). If they are the ones-- they are may be doing this now to establish a better deal for themselves if Fisher gets a pro deal someday perhaps. Sure-- the state madated these payments and yeah-- he should have worn a condem and blah blah blah-- woulda coulda shoulda--- let's talk about the "right now" involved here. Fisher has a chance to have a football career, if not a normal job AS LONG as crap like this doesn't derail those efforts. Suffer a little today and get paid in spades later ladies. My guess is the social workers are justing chomping at the bit. 17K is nothing compared to the damage they may have possible done to this players chances to make tons of money done the road. You truely are a moron, think for a minute about the kids, what quality of life are they having about now. As for when, its a state, thing, nothing up to the mother. If you don't pay, they will find you. What is amazing is how long it took for them to arrest him. The loser did not make one payment. "You also assume he has been acting irresponsibly SIMPLY BECAUSE HE GOT A GIRL PREGNANT. Were you there? Do you know, FOR A FACT, that he had unprotected sex? Or that the girls lied to him about being on the pill? Or any of a handful of other things that happened like the condem breaking/being defective. Who knows what led to the whole thing in the first place-- and who are we to judge this person? " Well the state certainly has an idea of what happened. When you have to pay child support, that means family court. He had his day in court, knowing his track record, I am willing to bet he did not even show. "The state uses this to start a bill with the father to pay for the child whether they have the means or not. So to get money they needed, Fisher et al submitted to this situation (who knows how willingly this occurred-- no one has said jack about how he is handling this-- just assumptions). " Wrong again, Child support is a family court issue, not a welfare issue. To get child support, you have to go to court to get it. Open your friggen eyes there Mike. Whether he meant to have kids or not, he has kids, by his own admittance on the state records. If he is not a deadbeat dad, what is a dead beat dad. They guy has not paid one penny towards these kids, what did he think was going to happen. by the way, his run in with the police over a suspended license, that happens when you don't pay child support, so its not like he did not know what was hppening. Mazza, you are supposibly a liberal, what happend to protecting the children, or does that only matter if its not a USF player in trouble. I am not here to bash USF, but to read some of these posts defending this loser is amazaing. He could have worked out a million ways to handle this, but he chose to ignore it. He deserves jail. He lives in a nice dorm, eats nice food and gets everything for free at USF, I wonder what his kids eat at night.
  2. I did not realize his brother was on the staff, that makes sense. I would leave too.
  3. He and his father were at UCF's practices this past week. McMurphy is late on this one, Brandon broke this story last week. Either way, he is a good kid but I always am concerened when guys transfer because of new competition.
  4. You should. Looking at the new Big East, not one team finished in the top 25. Even a CUSA school finished in the top 25. Honestly, the new Big East is not as good as the MAC. If USF can't finish in the top three from the start, then USF will have issues.
