I've been pushing for us to shut down the football program all year. Couple more games like this and I won't be alone anymore in this.

Shut the program down

Anyone coming around to my idea of shutting the football program down yet? I think any poster on this forum could do a better job than this clown we have running things.

Mitch Wilcox made the Bengals 53 as of now. Who else? Feel like we had a lot of players miss out

Usf football is a failed experiment. If the tbt wants to be taken seriously as a news organization they cannot lie to people. Why would they ever say positive things about an abject failure?

They have handled the misfortune of the big east football dying way better than us. Being independent prevents them from being tied to anchors like rice, fau, Charlotte, utsa, Tulsa, Tulane etc. Usf is sinking their own program by association. We should be either independent or folded altogether

I really hope not. I want no part in the b12 after they passed on us for cf. We should decline any offer from them. I'd sooner join the sun belt.

Agreed. This is completely ridiculous. In an ideal world the conferences are purely regional. I'd love a conference of only Florida teams. Or Florida and gerogia. Then a legit playoff. Unfortunately it's too far gone which I why I generally lean towards folding our football program.

No conference. If we don't fold the football program I want to see us go no stadium and play 12 road games per season as an independent. All 1-0s with big, sec, acc or pac schools. Take the paydays and play games people want to watch. No stadium, refuse a big 12 invite if it ever comes.

Pretty unbelievable how ucf gets every lucky break imaginable. Like had this ucla usc thing happened last year there's no way in hell ucf gets invited to the b12.

Care to elaborate? We are completely irrelevant now. We are literally on par with fau and rice. Ucf has in 10 years left us in their dust. Why is it smart to just keep doing what has failed us so badly? Either shut it down or go independent, all road games. At least that way we'd be on people's TVs.

I think you're on to something. I think a great idea for us would be to go stadiumless as an independent and play only road payoff games. We'd be able to fill a schedule with away games at Clemson, Alabama, Texas, fsu etc and draw a lot of interest. Keep ourselves in the national spotlight and have a lot of televised games. Then we keep ourselves in people's minds in case an acc spot opens up. BTW if that troll comment by the other poster was directed at me, I'm a former student and have been posting here for nearly 20 years. Attended most games between 06 and 2012 or so. The direction we've gone in since then makes me confident that the best thing for the school and the athletic program is to shut down football, if they don't want to do my all road games strategy.

I really hope we don't join the big 12 if such an offer were to come. They didn't want us last time, ucf is there, I'm not interested at all. Preference for me is obviously to shut the football program down altogether but it doesn't look like they will do that, so I'd say go independent and hope the acc gets decimated into the point of needing us. There is nothing interesting at all about this conference we are in. I won't go to a single game as long as we are in a conference with rice, Charlotte, utsa, etc. Going independent, even if it means playing uconn and new Mexico every week would at least leave us available to immediately jump if the acc lost 10 teams and considered inviting us.

There is absolutely no chance the acc takes us over ucf. Fsu moving does nothing for us but give ucf another step up. The time is now for decisive action. Call a press conference and announce that we are folding the football program effective immediately. Don't even play this seasons games. We can do this.

I just don't understand why this is happening now. Who is going to show up to watch us play rice or Charlotte in this stadium? This should have happened 15 years ago but since it didn't there's no point chasing sunk costs. I wish we'd just shut down the program altogether and focus on other things.

I'm sure we'll pack this ocs for our big games against Rice, utsa, Charlotte and Florida atlantic in the new sun belt.
