  1. On the women's side, Tristen Webb now out for undetermined amount of time. http://gobulls.usf.edu/Sports/News.asp?i=1950&s=Basketball
  2. I love the South Florida - West Virginia BCS showdown talk during this game. These announcers are talking like both teams winning out is a given and the December 3rd game will be huge. Gotta love it!
  3. Wouldn't they be quoting someone that it was the "worst memory ever"? They just make that crap up like they interviewed someone and it is totally untrue.
  4. game and during promo for the UL and WVU games this week, they show the BE standings and point out that "South Florida is still well within the hunt for a BCS bowl". In other news, at halftime Bower said that the Thundering Herd were poking their fingers in his players eyes. Why can I see this game on TV and not my Bulls?
  5. Please point us to this requirement - link?
  6. fireman - here's what SC is pointing out: http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1131476577 However, I would not put it past the old school BCS bowl committee members to find some loophole or do some back room negotiating if they just did not want our Bulls.
  7. That's pretty interesting. Conflicts with what the WV reporter is saying. I do remember a discussion on some sports talk show earlier THIS season about the 5 places in the BCS rankings rule. Who can give us the definitive answer?
  8. I agree - I think a 8-3 USF team comes within 5 places of a 9-2 WVU team, but not ranked ahead. Just win out!
  9. I knew there was was a 5 places ranking rule that would dethrone the champ for a BCS bowl. They didn't want to get into a situation where a 6-5 BE champion played in the BCS bowl over a 10-1 BE second place team. I think that makes complete sense.
  10. CFN has USF in the Gator Bowl against VT. http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2005/Bowls/Bowl_Projections.htm
  11. I guess you guys are right. I can't find anything to back up the BCS ranking only. I thought there was some rule about taking another team from the conference if they are BCS ranked at least 5 places higher than the conference champion. Oh well.
  12. I believe for the BCS bid, they only use BCS rankings even for 2 teams.  There is no tie breaker.  For example, they would want to pick a 10-1 team ranked 7th in the BCS over the 6-5 conference champion probably not appearing in the BCS top 20.
  13. Interesting that UCF got 1 25th place vote in the Harris poll and USF does not appear. That poll has had some bizarre issues and it counts 1/3 toward the BCS rankings.
  14. RTB, I agree. I have posted before that it's great to get on a major station, but losing the extra hour of post-game talk and the call-in show sucks.
  15. by a larger margin than USF. This along with PSU winning big and the UL win will really help our SOS and ratings. It's great to be a Bull. Now what do we need to do to get the Syracuse game on TV somehow?
  16. Brad - there is no "technically" about it. Bulls are in 2nd place in the Big East. Who'd of thunk it a year ago?
  17. the play calling is awful - I guess we are trying not show anything creative to WVU
  18. Last week really affected the Miami average.
  19. Well, he did send those 2 hurricanes our way to disrupt the schedule 2 years in a row - just not on our side. Besides, he has his hands full tomorrow with Notre Dame - not sure he's gonna spend a whole lot of time on PJ.
  20. Unfortunately, I think on paper UCF would be the logical choice here. But I really like the idea of Toledo. Definitely the best choice out of the MAC. A competitive sports program, urban/BE type campus, mid size tv market with much overlap of stations/signals with Detroit.
  21. I don't think there is a need for a name change, but if it was forced on us, I kind of like UTB.
