  1. The REAL good news... Football is still THE sport at USF.
  2. Take off the upper deck, pirate ship area and all of the end zone seats and you could probably fit it there.
  3. Yeah, I found the same clips on him earlier. After watching the first couple of clips...  Which are the worst floaters for interceptions I've ever seen, my first impression is this kid is not one of the best choices for QB.  I'm just going off highlights though.  I'm sure he's a good kid, but we have a guy who can throw floating interceptions already.
  4. Websites like this are important for USF marketing and customer retention.  Let's face it, this site lets us live and breath USF football all the time, 24-7. USF Athletics needs to partner with the alumni association to make sure they aren't losing recent graduates who have already experienced football for free as a student.  Those alumni should be the focus for season tickets advertising.  They become especially important after they have settled into new jobs and can afford the season tickets. Make sure the product remains competitive.  After living in Tampa all of my life, it is my experience that this is very important.  Just ask the Devil Rays, Lightning (before John Tortorella) and the Bucs of the 80's and early 90's. Bandwagon fans will come when young USF alumni start talking about how great their team is at the watercooler.  It's all about grassroots marketing for USF football.
  5. Let me explain why I'm asking. I went to the bowl game... I went with a group of current students and alumni. Our group was very loud and noticed children in our midst. I felt slightly embarrased. Just wanted opinions.
  6. Acceptable or not acceptable? Opinions please...
  7. I think the article in the paper is "frame worthy." It really looks good. I'm keeping my copy.
  8. Here are some things that stood out to me: NOTE: compiled by Brett McMurphy. Spelling errors are mine. Listed under 10 best players: 1. MB 2. Anthony Henry 3. J. R. Reed 4. Kawika Mitchell 5. Andre Hall 6. DeAndrew Rubin 7. Chad Barnhardt 8. Kenyatta Jones 9. Rafael Williams 10. Bill Gramattica Listed under 10 Un-bull-ievable stats: SLEAZY IN SEATTLE: USF first bowl bid actually came in 2002. Well, sort of. The Seattle Bowl said it would invite USF if the school paid the financially troubled bowl @2 million. USF said no thanks and the bowl folded a year later. SIGN LANGUAGE: One morning in 2000, there were about 100 signs planted in front of the coaches' trailers touting walk-on receiver Terry Lucas. "It looked like a graveyard," Lucas said. Leavitt was furious. THe female fans who planted the signs also left the coaches dozens of No.43 (Lucas' number) cupcakes. Lucas played two games that year before transferring. Listed under 8 prominent figures Laura Gramatica: Don't laugh. She supplied USF with a field-goal kicker for seven years. I'm not going to type all of it out, but there is a whole page of this stuff. It was fun to read.
  9. I think the article's name is "USF at 100." It's a compilation of the best moments in USF history. It looks like it would be difficult to translate online because of the layout of the article. It's a full page in the middle of the sports section.
  10. I laughed, I cried...  Terry Lucas (I think that's the Sheriff) makes the 10 Un-bull-ievable (but true) bits of USF history... Awesome read this morning.
  11. From gousfbulls.com (not sure if this was posted yet) Looks like Harry is it so far today. The JC QB hasn't signed yet I guess. JUCO Defensive Tackle Frank Harry Signs with USF (December 21, 2005) Frank Harry, an honorable mention All-America defensive tackle at Pearl River Community College, signed a national letter of intent today to play for the University of South Florida. Harry plans to enroll at USF in January. A two-time all-state player for Varnado High School in Angie, La., Harry, 6-3, 285-pounds, went on to Pearl River, where he helped the team to two straight state junior college championships in Mississippi.
  12. I'm in section 135 rows 17 and 18. I'm in the large group with D1DDY. We have 15 or 16 people going in those two rows. See you guys at the game!
  13. I'm not a basketball person, nor do I claim to know what I'm talking about when it comes to basketball.  That being said...  Our teams seemed like they were WAY better when I was at USF. This was a couple of years ago (Conference USA, Seth Greenburg, B.B. Waldon era.)  It looks like our team needs A LOT of work.  I've been reading the posts, and it looks like it is just that our good players either left, graduated or hurt themselves before the season really started. Are any of these young players/recruits going to turn this team around?

  15. I thought he was good. I thought he was better than PJ at his worst. I would start him. BUT I would also tie our WRs in front of a jug machine and let them catch the ball or have it hit them in the face until they learn to catch the ball.
  16. The WRs need to learn how to catch.  I can't believe how many dropped balls I saw.  It was horrible.
  17. Wow... Just wow... I'm not sure what I'd do, but I'm sure it would involve a website asking to fire our athletic director.
  18. If Leavitt leaves, IMO it kills recruiting and momentum despite Big East affiliation.
  19. We're here to help you. I'm still between steps three and four right now: Stages of shock Psychologists believe that we have four stages of shock: 1. shock is when we are so surprised that something bad has happened; 2. denial is not wanting to believe it is true... even though it must be true; 3. anger is wanting to blame someone or something for what has happened; and 4. acceptance is finally understanding and realizing nothing can be done.
  20. Wow, I forgot about that post.  Put up or shut up for true Bulls fans next week.
  21. I knew you were not serious on your other posts. You're too much of a Bulls fan to let this game get you down. I'm right there with you on the frustration, though. We need to take care of business next week and in our bowl game.
