  1. Should be a great event. Thanks to all that plan on attending. Don't forget the home opener on Friday the 9th at 6 pm. Nice thing about this years weekend series games is that the Saturday games are at 6 pm instead of noon or 1 pm. That way family's have no excuse to bring the little ones out for an early evening game after little league, etc.
  2. To stop all the rumors...why don't we just get Greg or Brett to ask the questions and report on it??
  3. While I do not care for UCF, I do think they are taking a big step in building the OCS. The picture I have seen on the UCF homepage for athletics look pretty good. Despite the fact that it is pretty much a steel built stadium, the exterior looks good (per the artist drawings). While I like the fact that we play in Raymond James, I'd still prefer to play in a 40K+ steeel stadium of our own, packed with fans and students. No doubt that they will have a huge increase in attendance next year. USF should do whatever they can over the next 5 years to get an OCS.
  4. chicky9914...that's great! To all other board members...don't be afraid to get out and support sports other than football and basketball. Everyone bitches about the athletic program and its budget or lack thereof but so many are unwilling to pay $$ to improve it.
  5. Does anyone know what will happen with number 10? I'd think the school should think about retiring that number from the football program is possible.
  6. Smazza...don't think anyone is really "counting" on Ford but rather hoping that he becomes the running back that he is hyped up to be. He has the physical tools as we all know. I still think it's a lot to ask of a freshman to come in a be the "guy". I'd expect to see Plancher/Williams/Ponton get most of the carries early unless Ford shows that he is clearly better.
  7. Sheriff...I have to agree that CJL could always give praise to past coaches who put so much into the program.  You say that his response was a "corporate like response", well I say yes it was and he is like the CEO of the program.  As I'm sure you know, the corporate world is one where hard work pass off, and if CJL has to work his assistants that hard to achieve success than so be it.  I don't think you will find one extremely successful or wealthy person out there who doesn't put in the hourse to get it done.  I myself am one who values family/quality time more so than the $$ that goes in my pocket.  There's just those out there that choose success over what others value more.  Despite the fact that CJL is hard to get along with and seems to run his assistants ragid doesn't minimize the fact that they all have gained valuable experiences while at USF and will only make them better at their next positions.  I guess a question to be asked is why does Burnham stick around if CJL is hard to work with?  Is it possible that he comes from the same school of hard work that CJL does?  Maybe some of these younger coaches have a different mentality.  I for one sure see that in my profession where the kids coming out of school just don't have the same work ethic.
  8. S._Bien...what do you think about all the WR we signed last year (06 class)? I was looking back at the rivals commit list for last year and we had 3 or 4 three star WR that I believe got red shirted in 06 (Sherman, Alcin, Mitchell). We have to be happy that we have some good young receivers for MG and the gang to throw to over the next few years.
  9. Brad...can you keep this as an Important Topic on the board? The baseball and softball programs are having a kickoff banquet Thursday Feb 8th. Coach Prado did something similar to this when he was at UL and it turned into a great annual event. We all know that softball has been doing some great things over the years and baseball is on the right track getting back to one of the power teams in the country. Come on out and show your support. http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=36641&SPID=2917&DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=746251
  10. BigShoop...you should. I know that Lelo was trying to get some sort of beer garden or something like that set up for the games. Either way the team will have a lot more excitement than the past few years.
  11. Sure hope we can keep recruits like this...I'm sure he will be a high draft choice and will take some sweet talking to get him to turn the $$ down.
  12. Too bad we won't have him for 3 more years.
  13. Great opportunity for Ross. Having played with him I can honestly say that I think he can hit .300 just about anywhere. A true hitter and an all around good player.
  14. How the hell does he have Louisville and Wake at #17??? This is ahead of BC/Navy?? Come one what a bunch of crap.
  15. I thought regardless of actual Bulls fans buying tickets, I thought the school had to sell at least 10K...meaning that they would buy the additional tickets if not purchased through alumni, fans, etc.
  16. Does someone have info on Grothe, Selvie, and Robinson making All American?? My duddy left a message that they all made Freshman All American.
  17. I'll be purchasing two and donating to students as we are expecting our second baby daughter on the 15th. I'm so bummed I won't be there but will be watching with my two little girls....my oldest who already says Go Bulls! everytime so she's a football game :-)
  18. http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=699270 Gotta get out there and support the team. School needs to get the local TV and radio stations pushing hard after we find out where we are going.
  19. I believe they are in the early stages of drafting plans to add boxes in the Sun Dome. Also...I think the floor this year is new and was purchased after one of the basketball movies that came out last year. I can find out the details if anyone is that interested. But yes the floor is new this year. The main reason to buy a new one was they really felt that the floor they had before was not the main reason for so many injuries over the past few years but definately had something to do with it.
  20. You have to admit though that WV ain't no Alabama. Same can be said for USF. That is one storied program and assets aren't an issue. But I sure as hell hope that CJL feels differently. This is his baby and hopefully one day he can be remembered as someone like Bryant, Bowden, Paterno, etc.
  21. Ok...I guess that could happen if UL wins Saturday and Rutgers wins and Florida loses to Arkansas. Thanks for the info.
  22. Will be interesting to see if the Times or Trib has a story tomorrow with quotes from CJL. Funny how a Miami paper is able to get through to him but our own backyard papers didn't?? Makes you wonder who can you believe?
  23. So would the Bulls have a shot at the Texas bowl if Rutgers beats WV?? Looks like that would be a better match-up with us taking on a Big 12 team. We would both be 4-3 in conference but we beat them head to head so wouldn't we be the 3rd place team??
