  1. What has been the feeling around here if we were to end up losing to UCONN and WVA? Do we still have a good shot at the Car Care Bowl in NC? I feel confident that we will come out on top but there is always that thought of us playing our butts off these past few weeks and not getting anything to show for it if we lose two in a row. Come on boys...stay focused and get the job done in CT!!
  2. Bulls 30-17 (30 should be just below the high temp that day :) A. Jackson 340 Let's hope that cold weather gear is ready to go for these one!! It's gonna be **** cold.
  3. I'm not too sure on how credible this is or not but my season tickets are next to a few older (65+) men who are both football and basketball season ticket holder and they both told me that one of their close school officials told them the game would either be played at 1:30 or 3:30 and would not be played at 7:00. He actually said that you can call the school athletic department and get this info as well.
  4. Agreed...but there should be no reason why the students don't turn out. It's been too long for a game and they should be ready to get rowdy. ****, I always view the day games in a different light. You can go early and enjoy the game/day and then have the rest of the afternoon to do whatever! Guess some folks just don't see it that way.
  5. Has anyone heard what kind of ticket sales we have had for this weekends game?
  6. I highly doubt that Julmiste will not be our QB next year. You have to agree, even though he has given us all minor strokes and unexspected jubulation at times, he will be a very tried and tested senior. There is a lot to say for having significant game experience. But as stated Rezz...CJL will play the person who gives us the best chance to win. I just feel that will be Pat next year. It won't hurt Grothe to take another year to learn the offense and battle with Hill. Hill will be our #2 and should get more playing time next year. Then it will be a battle between Hill and Grothe to see who will lead this team for 2 or 3 years. Either way, I think the future at QB looks bright.
  7. It's hard to believe with the # of alum's in the area that we can only get 3,500 season ticket holders....I thought that I read somewhere that there is something like 40K plus alumni in the area?? Anyone have stats on this?
  8. Holder since day #1 ;D Hope to have a total of 8 this year and have actually recruited a friend of mine who is a PSU grad to buy 2 this year. He's already paid me for next year!
  9. Question??  Does Tom = CJL?  ???  Is CJL trying to increase his stock by spreading ridiculous rumors?  : Oh well...we all know that he is a hot commodity and I'm sure he will be mentioned for various job openings this year. Sure would like him to stick around but you can't fault a guy for leaving for a better "all around opportunity".  We all would jump at the chance for bigger national school and more $$. The only thing we can hope is that CJL really really wants to make USF "his" legacy, similar to a Joe Pa or Bobby Bowden when it's highly unlikely with the college football landscape of today.
  10. Knight_Light or whatever your name is...why do you post so **** much on this board?? Do you have some obsession with USF? I'm sorry that you went to UCF, I really am, by **** you sure do want to know every f'ing thing going on with USF. I bet there isn't one topic on this board that you have put your two cents into. You know what...I really don't care if there are folks on this board that don't mind it...I think it's a f'ing joke that you UCFer's post as much as you do on this board. Obviously you guys wish you could Bulls! But really dude...how much time do you have to monitor every thing on a USF BOARD!
  11. I know that the growth has been rapid, but I just don't get the feeling that the school and community as a whole really gets behind this school. I know that it will take time, I just want to see more being down by the higher ups, even if it's just a bunch of crap to get the community excited. Why can UCF get the school to meet and discuss a new stadium and actually get it approved? We all know that it is highly unlikey that the state approves it but ****, they at least are making an effort. We just sit back and defer any and all comments when it comes to discussing a new stadium. On another note, his could be a great year for USF. When ;D we do win the Big East and head to the Sugar Bowl, it will really do a lot for the school. At that time the university & community better get behind the athletics. When this does happen, the school better make some changes or there are going to be a lot of pissed of Bulls fans. We all need to be more vocal by sending e-mails, letters to Genshaft, Woolard, etc.
  12. From what I can recall...from prior news articles is that he was in fact offered the job at Alabama. The thing that I don't understand is how does a university with over 40K students not have enough money to do things like: 1)  pay the head football a competitive salary with other BCS schools (this of course assumes that we either win the Big East or at least make our first bowl game). 2) Build facilities to compete as a "major" university.  Although I think some plans are in the works since Woolard took over. Heck, we have been behind the eight ball as long as I can remember.  There is the need for our athletic programs to be taken care of in order to succeed.  Genshaft and all know this but really only seemed concerned about elevating the school to a tier 1 establised research university.  Why can't we have both??  Where has LeRoy Selmon been lately in getting out and pounding the community for $$ support.  Why do I feel that USF is always behind everything and everyone else.  ****, even UCF, FIU, FAU, Stetson all have new baseball facilities.  Why in hell can't there be something done now to get things up to par? Sorry to get off track, but if USF wants to continue to climb the lader of college athletics, major changes need to be made.  If not, we will be sitting at Raymond James standing 10 years from now with 25K fans in the seats while the f'ing Orlando Knights will have a new stadium with 45K + fans that will only increase student and community pride in their school. Come on USF, wake up and spend some F'ing money!  We all I'm sure on the board give our fair share...it's time the school steps up!
  13. I saw that...what a crock of sh.t! > Hopefully after we finish the season strong and make a bowl game this city will get behind "its" home team.
  14. I would say this is a very important year for EC...not a good one and he might be on his way out!
  15. Bulls! 35-17 345 Jackson Bulls take the Cuse crowd out early with a KO return for a touchdown! C. Hill gets his a series in the first half...leading to a Bulls first down (of course hands off to Hall every play!)
  16. I agree...give him a series early in the first half and a series early in the second half. If your going to promote a true-freshman to the #2 QB spot, you have to give him some game reps. I like T-Man's plan: give him a series against SU and even if he hands the ball off to Hall 3 times, it's a plus. You would be putting the ball in your best players hands (Hall) which would be no different than what we have been doing all year. And just think, maybe on the 3rd hand off he pulls it and rolls out and hits his TE for a short completion and first down. Next thing you know he's full of confidence and ready to step in if something was to happen with PJ. Come on JL...give him some reps!!
  17. I disagree with moving Denson to running back. Ponton and Simpson will be just fine next year. Plus...making a move to running back from historically playing QB or WR is a very hard move to make. Of course Bush at UL did it but that guy is a freak. I think Denson has the athetic ability to be a good WR. He may get reps at both WR and defensive back. I don't think it would be in his best interest to even think about transferring again as a sophmore. From what I have heard he is a pretty stand up guy and would prefer to help out the team anyway that he can. We have to remember that when he came out of high school he was a very highly rated "athlete" or "duel threat QB". I'm sure his ego was hurt when Auburn told him that he would have to move to DB. I think with him maturing, he probably know realizes that he better do whatever he can to just get on the field and contribute. I'd really like to see Hill get some reps at QB...heck, give him at least one series a game. A lot of teams do that and it will only put us in a better position if Julmiste goes down.
  18. I say F' em. Shouldn't we want to separate ourselves from the "other" Florida schools. Shouldn't we have the "we want it all attitude" and take care of ourselves and not worry about UCF? I don't post here much but really don't understand why everyone always brings up UCF and whether or not it would be good or bad for them to be in the BE. I don't care what the upside is of their school, athletically or academically...we are USF and that's all that matters!
  19. Where does he get the $9 million from? Does he mean just for football?
  20. Did that just say the Elgin Hicks would be playing linebacker for them?? That has got to be one of the smallest linebackers around. Is it common in that league for receivers to play the linebacker position?
  21. I don't know...I think it would be a hard sell. Florida and Florida State are taken so the rest of the public universities in the state are by default left with a "directional" name. There are directional named schools out there that have big names and big followings. For example, North Carolina, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Southern Cal (as mentioned before). I think it will just take time to develope a national identity. The university is still relatively young, is only 9 years old football wise, and has just joined a major athletic conference. I really believe that in 20 years, we all will sitting around talking about USF in the same manner as people sit around and talk about school like UF, Miami, etc. Yes it will take some time do develop, but I think the university in general is in a great situation. Heck...how about Florida Tech :-)
  22. UM 35-14 315 Peyton Let's hope I'm wrong 2 weeks in a row!
  23. UL 35-17 310 Peyton Hopefully this is a reverse prediction! But honestly I don't see us able to pass much on them. PJ has done a better job this year of hitting receivers but I disagree with posters who say we have been conservative with our play calling. I don't think we are being conservative, JL understands that we have to run to give us a chance to win because PJ just isn't going to complete 70 or even 60% of his passes over the season. But I sure hope he proves me wrong come Saturday. GO BULLS AND PROVE ME WRONG!!
  24. Hopefully this will be a good hiring for the basebulls. It is nice to have someone come in who has some ties to the area, the school, and most importantly some major league experience. The big league experience is huge and his knowledge will hopefully rub off on the current players.
