  1. As a USF Chemical Engineering grad, I just want to clarify that we don't work in labs!   Most of the jobs are in industrial plant environments.  The last time I was in a Chemistry lab was at USF in '92.  I know that no one really cares about this, but I felt compelled to post it anyway!  ;D
  2. Bien (or anyone), Why do you say he's probably not coming? With Clemson apparently out of the picture, who is Brent's new favorite? Seems if he had it narrowed to USF and Clemson, then we'd be a pretty decent bet right now.
  3. Schaeffer is the kind of talent that can carry USF to national prominence - I don't care if USF is his 10th choice as long as he comes!
  4. BullGator is right on the mark. The D must be much better this year for USF to compete in the Big East. All the major players are back on O, and with PJ and the receivers a year older and more experienced, the passing game should be improved. PJ doesn't have to be a superstar, just more consistent. He has the tools. How about that pic of Brouce!?! I hope he gets some PT and shows us all what a stud he is.
  5. Glad to see the DT's adding bulk. Hope SJ is not too heavy at 220.
  6. The running game is supposed to be better, but they changed the controls so you have to use the right analog stick to juke now and I'm not used to it yet. The holes are supposed to open up better and the RB should be able to make some better moves to make guys miss. There is gang tackling now too.
  7. Carlton Hill, Grothe, WR #82 (not sure who that is), DeArmas, MLB #54 (Gene Coleman?), DB #28 (Tyller Roberts?). Might have missed one - but there are not too many Freshmen. Josh Julmiste, Mompreimere, Carlton Williams, Gachette are there as Sophs. Nicholas and Tim Jones are studs. So is Peyton.
  8. Only played a couple games, but completion % is much better - like 60%. PJ was 12-18 for like 256 yds against UCF. Short passes all seem to be caught as they should most of the time. Seems like the passes that could never be completed on '05 can now be caught - like deep outs. Don't know about the Big East yet, but the articles I've seen on the game say that problem has been fixed.
  9. I was in a Target in Atlanta this past weekend, and just checked for the heck of it, and they had it in the case. The guy said he wasn't sure whether someone had put it out by mistake or if the release was moved up to Saturday, so he sold it to me.
  10. Great thread. The question remains in my mind - Do we have 8 guys who can play on DL this year? Royal, Robinson, Searcy, Jones are proven. Cray has had some PT. Who are the other 3 who can play?
  11. Corso put on a Rocky head in the pre-game when he picked the Bulls. Haven't seen Rocky on the field yet, but I think the Rocky head Corso wore was pretty much correct.
  12. The game is finally getting things right - RayJay looks awesome, the Bulls uni's are the right color green, and the game plays much better. The roster seems pretty accurate but might not be as deep as I'd like with Freshmen. PJ is an 'impact player' who can get in the zone and break a game open. Hopefully he's as good on the field as in this game. Grothe and Carlton Hill are on the roster - Denson too. I've only played a couple of games, and the passing game is improved. No complaints so far. USF spanked the Golden Knights, so it seems accurate to me!
  13. Yeah . . . I can't wait to read about how the sky is falling when PJ gets named starter at PSU after Fall practice.
  14. Thanks, Howie. I didn't know that. I thought he was in for sure as a JUCO transfer. We're so undersized up the middle that I think we really need Coleman to live up to the expectations.
  15. I'm not trying to get everyone's panties in a wad, but this is not "coach speak". PJ will be the starter. Denson will play some too. Part 2 of that interview has me fired up! IF PJ improves like I think he will, then this team does have the chance to be pretty good. I was thinking 4-7, but maybe they will be capable of a few surprises. One player not mentioned who I think needs to be the man next year is Gene Coleman. I'll feel much better about the middle of the D if he takes over at MLB. I'd also like to see Searcy at DT.
  16. I generally agree, but some of it also has to do with Brohm's hype out of high school and a lot has to do with how well he played as a true Freshman. I think he'll prove he belongs on the list this year.
  17. I just watched the first half of the USF-Alabama game of a couple years ago this morning (couldn't stand to watch the 2nd half) and MoJo was all over the field making tackles, causing fumbles, sacking the QB. That was his first game at MLB after moving over from OLB. It just reminded me of how great he was at USF. Good luck MoJo!
  18. If you had watched any Louisville games last year, you would know that Brohm did not play "mop up" minutes.  Petrino had schemes to get him meaningful minutes in almost every game.  He played in the first half of every game I saw, and played I think the entire second half of the Miami game when Lefors was hurt.  I'm not saying he's the Heisman trophy winner, but he is really good and Louisville will not miss a beat on offense in 2005.  I take offense to the "mop up" part of your first post.  It just isn't true.
  19. Dude, how about watching Lousiville play one time before you make an ignorant post? Brohm played meaningful minutes in almost every game last year. He usually played by the 3rd offensive series. He came in the Miami game when Lefors was hurt and played great.
  20. No, he did not face the #1 defense. Petrino pits #1's against #2 on both sides of the ball. He just ate up the #2 defense, but I don't think you should hold that against him. You have to see how calm and in control Brohm is of that offense. He also puts the ball exactly where it needs to be. He has incredible poise for a Sophomore. Michael Bush started a tailback. They had a Sophomore (I believe) at #2 TB who looked great also. The running game looks like it will be fine. Petrino has a great system and there is talent galore. Three stud receivers return as well.
  21. I saw the game and it is even scarier than you think. Brohm is the real deal. He looks off safeties, has incredible touch and instincts, and is a great leader. Once again, Louisville's offense will be incredible - expect them to not miss a beat from last year.
  22. Playing a generic defense is not uncommon in Spring games. It's not like PSU did it just to showcase the offense.
  23. Beastie, was it Buck and Kincaid who made the comments about Schaeffer? If so, believe it. Buck Belue, former UGA QB, has lots of connections and is usually on the money with his reports.
  24. I agree that this type of response should be rewarded. You have to pay $3 shipping which stinks, but I ordered mine.
  25. You are right! That should have read CO-Champs anyway. FSU, Arizona State, and Ohio State shared a piece of that one.
