  1. That was the worst performance I have seen in quite sometime by any team at the Cup. The most disappointing fact is that the team showed very little heart while recieving the whipping. We rarely challenged on the 50-50 balls, our outside midfielders wouldn't attack 1-v-1, and our defense made some crucial errors in marking and clearance. With the Italians winning their match today it looks like we will have to win both of our remaining games to qualify for the second round.
  2. My intent by this was to say that having Carson Palmer's brother on your team was not going to sway as many recruits as having the son of Phil Simms because that would garner National Attention. Also I agree that Carson Palmer is a better QB.  Simms stats are average in most games.  For instance, In week 6 Simms was 6-10 for 69 yds in a 27-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins.  Not awe-inspiring stats, but yes the big W over the fish.
  3. Hopefully the men's team is watching as they get ready to win our first national title next season.
  4. This topic has been moved to [link=http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=33;action=display;num=1149867963;start=0]Tampa Bay and General Sports Forum[/link] by Bulliever.
  5. The Carson Palmer/Jordan Palmer thing was a nice try, but come on. Phil Simms won a super bowl. Carson Palmer is on equal footing with Chris Simms. Both led their team to the playoffs. If we land Matt Simms it will generate very positive media exposure for USF. When your pops won a Super Bowl and your brother plays in the league, your decision of where to go will make headlines. Along with hopefully swinging a few recruits. However, I don't care what QB we get as long as he is good.
  6. Eric I really think the price for the tailgate should be evaluated.  I attended 3 road games and the bowl game last year and did not attend a USF sponsored tailgate due to the price.  Most of our groups consisted of at least 4 people.  At 4 x 35 you have 140 bucks for the group.  That's enough to cook steaks and buy a keg for the group with enough to spare for parking.  I have no clue how attendance is for these events, but I believe that if the price was lowered more fans would attend. Is the thinking set the price high to pull in the more affluent crowd/the high dollar donors and leave the crazies to tailgate with the rest?
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the score reqd on the ACT/SAT to qualify depends on your gpa( a sliding scale). This just goes to show the importance of maintaining a good gpa from day one in high shcool so you don't have to pull off a killer score on the test. Lots of these guys F off for a few years and then try to mash the gas at the end but have not learned the previous academic material and aren't intelligent enough to overcome such a route.
  8. Having night home games was a luxury we had as being a member of CUSA and pre CUSA. That luxury was afforded because we were rarely broadcast on TV outside of the local market. However, as we transition into being a bigger player on the national scene we will have day games due to television contracts which entails more cash for the program. Do I like noon kickoffs? About as much as I like a swift kick in the balls. Its about as good to my tailgate party as the undercover cops who used to raid when I was below the legal age. For students and other low responsibilty fans it does not pose as much of a problem as it does for the fans with young kids involved with youth sports. For those of you with youngsters I Feel for you, your posed with the problem of missing a child's game to attend the Bull's game. In a perfect world you'd be able to attend both the kid's game and the Bull's game. Hell in a perfect world, the OCS would be built, we'd have won a national title last year and I wouldn't be typing on this computer in Baton Rouge, but on the beach with some hotties.
  9. I have been out in Baton Rouge for the last 2 weeks and Laval was being hammered on local talk radio daily.
  10. That could definitely be a possibility as GunnAllen is a major suporter of USF athletics with Gunn being an alum. I have a friend who works at GunnAllen and will ask him to see if he has heard anthing of this sort.
  11. Glad to see that the tennis courts will be one long set of bleachers that allows a vew of all courts instead of the the proposed one stadium court with additional side courts shown on earlier diagrams of the athletics district. Overall I think the District will be sweet once everything is finished.
  12. Nice to see SOL making the rounds. I sure hope he is drafted.
  13. 6pm Central time would be correct as It will most likely start at 7pm Eastern
  14. Do transfers in women's tennis have to sit out a year? We could have one heck of a team next year if Robinson is eligible.
  15. Thanks a lot Mr. Morsani. The softball team is definitely deserving of some new digs. My high school played in a better facility.
  16. Terry was on the ESPNU Broadcast. He also told me over the phone that Woolard came up to them and they talked for a few minutes.
  17. "he revealed he had another bag, containing 1.7 grams of cocaine, in the crevice of his buttocks." Isn't that CRACK then?
  18. I saw that also Big Tipp. I thought they should have rated our LB group in their top ten. Hopefully the boys will make some noise this season.
  19. Will it increase the likelihood of you getting mauled and never posting again? I hope so
  20. Here's my choice. The Watusi Bull of Africa. http://www.crazyforcows.com/graphics/guest_wasabi.jpg
  21. Man that is some awesome news. Reggie was the man and I'm sure he will make a good coach. He could also be a big coup on the recruiting front. He had quite a crew of players at his HS and will give us good ties to the coaches in the Orlando area.
