  1. Smazzie...how did the "transition" go for USF in Hoops when they joined CUSA?? I think the "transition" going into the Big East will be even "worse" then the "transition" USF had while joining CUSA Hoops. KL
  2. True...I should of said "announced" attendance. My bad. KL PS. Remember the Trib article last year about a hoop game with an "announced" crowd of 2,800...but the "actual" crowd the reporter wrote was 800 plus.

  4. Actual attendance or announced?? You will set records though for both next year. VERY nice home schedule!! KL PS. My prediction? USF "announced" average attendance next year: 39,932 Actual average attendance next year: 32,433
  5. Imagine what the Wisconsin Band would be like infront of 20,000 plus student section in a game in Madison? Most UCF Fans said that the Wisconsin Student Section was the best anyone of us had ever seen. The Band sits right infront of the Student Section in Madison, and both are involved well before kickoff to well after the game (5th Q). If ya'll ever get a chance to go see a game in Madison, TAKE IT!! It's a blast! KL
  6. He helped design this: http://arena.slu.edu/arena2.html Plus, he was the leader in regards to all the financial requirements of this beautiful arena. KL
  7. That's why the School Presidents are in charge. BCS Teams (currently) keep 94% of all the Bowl Revenue. If Div I-A had a NCAA "sanctioned" playoff....ALL 117 teams would get a share of the $$$$ pot. BCS Presidents don't want to share the $$$$$$$. Simple as that...has nothing to do if the playoffs would be fun, would work, etc...its all about the $$$$$, which the BCS School Presidents know they need now more than ever dealing with Title IX Expenditure issues. KL
  8. Good point Nokia...just in yesterday's Orlando Sentinel, it has comments from the Big 12 Commish Office, who is the top dog in the BCS. Here's the blurb from Mike H's column yesterday: Big East sources told the Boston Globe that the BCS partners had agreed to count Louisville as a Big East member this season when it came to the BCS standings. That's important because under BCS regulations, a conference is subject to having its automatic bid taken away if it didn't average a top-12 finish for its champion over a four-year period. This year's Big East champ Pittsburgh, finished 21st and Louisville was 10th.  Big 12 Commisioner Steve Weiberg is serving as the head of the BCS, and the Big 12 office disputes that report, saying the proposal is being considered but that nothing has been decided. While the folks in the BCS make head-scratchingly bad decisions every season, this one would be horrendous. Uh, guys: Louisville wasn't in the Big East this season, so why should its ranking count for the Big East? It's unbelievable that this is even being considered.
  9. Remember...the Twins left in 2001-2002. Last year's NCAA Team at UCF was 2 years removed from the Twins last game. Yes, team ball was important..but that was mostly due to the Roberto and Dex, 2 JUCO players that we brought in. Who knows what UCF would of done if they had stayed...but I also think Coack Kirk got better after they left. KL
  10. It was clear even at the last UCF/USF Game...Graham Twins were some of the best players on the court...even as Soph. It was a joke when some people like Sher and others, that said the Twins weren't even good enough to play at USF...let alone in the CUSA. KL
  11. Really? How so? Almost every decision you make in regards to one impression, vision, image, positioning, strategy, sales goals, you name it, etc...revolves around Marketing. I'm sure some would be interested to hear about the "more". KL
  12. Great marketing move (wasn't some on this board just blasting your marketing dept this week?). Some fans wear the same merchandise for years and years and years...but when you change your logo...CHANGE your COLORS...that forces even the cheap folks who don't notice holes in their shirts...to go out and buy NEW ONES! That's why even Pro Sport Teams are changing their logos and shades of colors much more frequently...its all about $$$$$. Also...believe those numbers listed are "Sales Numbers"...not gross profit numbers...but USF should still get a good chunk of it. KL PS. UCF is still stuck with a 2-name school when Sloan thought Knights (Fighting Knights was our cheer) was not politically correct. Now, we have to squeeze Golden Knights on everything...from helmets, uniforms, etc. DUMB...DUMB...DUMB!!! Plus...colors Red and Black signify Royalty (guarded by the KNIGHTS), so UCF could of had Red/Black/White for school colors...would of sold MUCH more product then 20 different shades of gold/yellow, but mostly white merchandise.
  13. Come on...give the kid a break. It was only a 1/2 a Kilo. :
  14. Bull2000...if USF ever got Butch Davis...that would be HUGE!! He could really make an impact in recruiting South FLA...which has the most Div I-A available in the State. As a UCF fan...I HOPE that USF doesn't get Butch Davis. He could do GREAT THINGS at almost ANY school in FLA. KL
  15. Grunge...interesting view. As far as discipline...believe USF "again" lead the Nation in most penalties per game. Believe even when USF didn't lead the Nation in penalties...they are usually in the Top 10. Does lack of discipline ON the field, reflect the lack of discipline OFF the field?? Many coaches think there is a strong correlation between discipline OFF the field, and discipline ON the field. Everyone knows what type of "discipline" Leavitt gives many of his players (most just "hugs") and has views which he has stated in the Tribune ("I decided in early Spring that I would not suspend ANY player that got arrested in the off-season). When ESPN announcers are going off about one of your players (believe it was a DE during the UAB Game) on how he was yelling, becoming insubordinate and condescending to your head coach, on NATIONAL TV, and the annoucers are dumbfounded on why the kid wasn't sent to the locker room, and just a few plays later, the kid in SENT BACK IN!!! You have an obvious discipline problem. It all starts up at the top. USF AD's in the past didn't care about "discipline" or public "perception"...it was all about the "W". It worked...ya'll are joining the BE. But when you are losing...on National TV...by 3 TD's..and your players are trash talking...and trash talking so much that one ref just shoved a USF player in his FACE MASK to shut him up...ya'll have a problem. Many at UCF saw this same exact thing unravel over the past 2 years...without control...it could take double that to turn it around. With the point about discipline brought up by you and now MANY OTHER USF fans, especially over the past month or so....your team/program might be entering a slippery slope..that could take a while to get out of. KL
  16. Great Catch smazza. Yes, just like many teams, young players do play...but with all of the "experience" that USF brought back from last year...those upperclassmen (Juniors included) didn't perform well at all. KL
  17. Powerful letter....sounds like a letter another team in the State of FL could use. ::grinrabbit:: KL
  18. Correct...lower bowl capacity that USF uses for RJS is 41,441. Yeah...like more than 1/2 of them were used yesterday...LOL!! If maybe every 5th or 6th seat was used...that might of been generous. That would of meant an actual crowd of 6,800-8,200. That game reminded me of the Hoop game for USF last year...when they had an announced crowd of 2,800 or so...and the ACTUAL crowd of just over 800. Maybe inflated attendance follows Paul Porter around. Maybe USF's attendance would go UP if they just got RID of him!!! He has to be the WORST PA announcer of ALL-TIME!! He is the #1 reason why I can't even handle free Magic Tix anymore. Not worth it to listen to him for 2 hours (3 hours for Football!!! How do ya'll do it!!) KL
  19. Notre Dame is looking for HOME FOOTBALL GAMES only more so in the future. ND has already announced that they will go from 6 home games a year to at least 7...and sometimes 8 home games per year. They are ended some of their home-home rivalries...and are interested in almost any team that wants to travel to South Bend...but without a home game in return. ND had already announced that they are trying to make their future schedules "easier"...not have as many home-home vs Big 10/SEC/ACC Teams...and only keep a few tradition home-home...and fill out future schedules with just ND HOME GAMES. KL
  20. LOL!! BB....a little "backed up" this AM?? UCF will only bring 50 fans to Tampa next year?? LOL!! Again...sorry for trying to be RATIONAL!!! Even your own fans understand that to have a RIVAL...FANS HAVE TO SHOW UP!! I don't think THOUSANDS of USF fans will ever travel to Cinci....EVER!! Back to Earth BB...(and or try some Pepto). Oh...UCF will bring more than 50 fans next year....everyone knows it will be a least 55!!! LOL!! 50 fans!!! KL
  21. Normally, rival games are PACKED with tens of thousands of fans...with thousands of visiting fans helping to cheer on your team. USF had what...20-30 family and friends there?? Plus..it doesn't help if the home team doesn't have many fans of it's own... Was channel surfing yesterday afternoon...saw your game on Sunshine early in the 1st half...and I heard a Cinci fan clap...and it made an ECHO in the stadium!!! ECHO!!  (I haven't heard one on TV since watching a college baseball game). If Cinci had 19,300 at that stadium yesterday (stadium would be been almost 2/3 full if that were true) then UCF will have 50,000 plus for our finale vs Kent St. Wish UCF could count attendance like that!! That's not a rivalry...trust me. KL PS. Challenge for USF in in the future...is what team/city will thousands of their fans travel to in the Big East to help START a rivalry?? It's hard to have "rival" when none of your conf games are within driving distance.
  22. And QB Kraky was suppose to be the 2nd coming. Sometimes its the unknown/lesser ranked QB recruit that eventually gets the job done on the college level. KL
  23. It was listed and can be found on Footballscoop.com It's a Coaches Website that helps Coaches find jobs, find opponents with open dates, sells books and videos, ads for clinics and camps, etc... KL
  24. and be back on Spurrier's staff at USC. They didn't say that Spurrier would "offer" but that was their viewpoint as of today...that Franks would be offered RB/OC job at USC under Spurrier (of course Spurrier still calls all the plays). As most know...Coach Franks worked with Spurrier at UF. KL
  25. Where did you park? Booster Lots?? Off-site?? Public Lots??
