  1. We hired the “hottest” OC in the country from last year. Unfortunately it was running a system he didn’t come up with himself. So we have to hope he can 1) implement a successful system and 2) do it with non top tier talent. Big ask.
  2. So feel like it’s pretty safe to say Alabama was a fluky game and the last 2 weeks are more indicative of who this team is
  3. Did the same at the start of the season, went with Hulu which has CBSSN. Adequate replacement thus far.
  4. This should be highlighted more as a reason USF doesn’t have the luxury of patience. We’ve now been through an entire graduating class (freshman through graduation) where the students will have had no positive memories from any football events (other than their own making). No bueno.
  5. Most have a breaking point, everyones is different. At this point, USF has exhausted most goodwill so every bad loss or conference setback is potentially justification for even die hards to leave. Don’t know who these people are but this was from 2021. Sounds familiar. USF Talks Part 3: Jamie is done and the school did it to themselves. - The Daily Stampede WWW.THEDAILYSTAMPEDE.COM
  6. Re: last 6 mins…Pretty sure, “fair weather fans” left a long time ago. These are die-hards throwing in the towel. Very few people are committed “’till death do us part” to USF football. The rest of us all have a point in which the investment of time and money may no longer be worth it. As the podcast also said, it’s entertainment… or at least it’s supposed to be.
  7. It would be nice to pay that Homecoming beating we took forward to UConn. Children’s Harbor game and now a Homecoming, that should be poster board material for the team. Go earn some respect.
  8. Actually, I care. How many 100k donors does USF have? I’ve read of 2 in this thread that are close or have already thrown in the towel on donating. Not sure how you think USF is going to run a competitive football program with less money.
  9. Have to first get real numbers which seems to be a next to impossible task. Too many shenanigans are played with the announced numbers. With that said I have to imagine USF is top half, even with the state of the team. Metro area, large student body. Mentioned in another thread the other week, UAB has 1/3rd of USFs student population.
  10. Guessing it has something to do with bad product + wanting to continue to drink (illegally). Can’t say I blame them. The tailgate has been the best part about USF football games for a number of years now. Put a winner on the field against another brand name school, the students will go inside.
  11. This is my running theory at the moment. Best explanation for falling off a cliff the last 2 weeks.
  12. We will see. Announced attendance was 36k+ and the average difference between announced and actual attendance is ~16k so yeah, I’ll stick with 20k. If you are correct it will have been the smallest discrepancy between announced and actual this season.
  13. So the students care about mostly about supporting a winner and playing teams they’ve heard of, interesting. Didn’t read anything about the stadium being the cause for the lack of interest.
  14. Yes losing to FAU may be our rock bottom but not sure that’s something to brag about. Would have been worse if FAU actually had any fans or if anyone actually cared about them but all clear on that front.
  15. That period of football is why we have the adult-centric fan base (which you alluded to earlier) that we do. And it occurred because USF football was a quality product despite not having an OCS. Students don’t and won’t care about OCS traditions for a perennially losing team. See MBB and the YC.
  16. Been wondering about this myself. Mentioned to someone during the UAB game that the defense looked like they had mailed it in. Then the following week a repeat performance against another sub 500 team? It would provide an explanation for what seems inexplicable.
  17. Better crowd than I anticipated. Said 14k, think it might have been in the 18-20k range. That said, there wasn’t much to cheer about so it felt dead-ish for most of the game.
  18. So if fans/donors stopped contributing to USF athletics, do you think the AD would still be around to make the coaching decisions?
  19. Did Herman want the USF job? If so, I’d have done the same thing. I saw he made some comment before the game playing coy about little brother (FAU) competing with big brother (USF).
  20. Those are called “expectations” and people who haven’t given up, usually have them.
  21. It’s really amazing how seemingly every other team is on the rise except USF. Former peers on the rise leaving the AAC behind, former underlings on the rise beating USF at its Homecoming by 42. There are no valid excuses for the last two weeks. Something is absolutely rotten in the athletics department.
  22. Beat me to it. We are getting destroyed by glorified community colleges and on Homecoming to boot. Calm is the opposite of what needs to happen right now.
  23. Yes. That is the general way one would expect to commute around town. I find it odd that attending RayJay (6x a year at that) is the only time I ever hear this argument made. This supposed inability to leave campus doesn’t seem to impact other businesses…beaches, amusements parks, bars, clubs, etc. So perhaps it’s not the :20 drive (to park for free), perhaps it’s the quality of the product that they are rejecting.
