  1. When you play in the minor leagues you get minor league refs. Another reason to gtfo.
  2. Looked like a face masking penalty by the WR. Flag then decided not to call it? Bush league AAC refs
  3. @belgianbull Has it mostly covered but are you including the extension of said horrible football hire as a separate or joint complaint? Since the hire and extension happened years apart, seems like it’s separate. Here is what MK had to say at the time (all the way back in Jan 2022) about the highly usual decision to extend the contract of a 3-18 coach. As the kids would say, tell me you don’t know what you are doing, without telling me… Kelly says the philosophy of the athletic department is based on patience, not knee-jerk reactions. "It’s not going to be about changing coaches every two or three years," Kelly said Wednesday. "It’s about how we can learn from what we’ve seen before. Why have we maybe not been successful in certain sports before, that we’re now doing differently in terms of providing for. And let’s see what we can do." Head football coach Jeff Scott received an extension through 2026. Kelly said he believes in the direction of the program despite Scott's 3-18 record. "I feel that the [coaching staff] is aligned," Kelly added. "They’re so energetic, they’re so encouraging. I feel that the student-athletes, at least the ones that come and express themselves to me, feel great about where they’re at. I think they feel it, that they’re on the verge and they don’t want to miss out."
  4. Also extended his contract. Worse, he was 1 of 4 ADs on the AAC expansion committee that helped select those schools. His fault. Decisions, especially poor ones, have consequences. Appreciate the assist, saved me some time.
  5. Unfortunately, I think MKs body of other “work” overshadows those games you mention. I will partially agree that MK has been responsible for things I never thought I’d see…just not the good kind of things, but that’s another thread. Appreciate your fandom.
  6. I hope this view isn’t shared throughout the athletics department. “Who” is all that matters if you are attempting to run a successful, nationally recognized football program.
  7. Certainly there’s a snowball effect with winning but I’m afraid the ceiling, even if winning, is going to be pretty low as long as we are in the AAC. At least that is what this year seems to be indicating since we have won some. That’s where I’d hope and expect to see USF attempting something/anything to attract students/fans to games today. Even the Rays have a concert series which has caused me personally to attend 2x the number of Rays games than I would have otherwise.
  8. Those were amazing times. I’ll know we are back to prominence when that is the case again.
  9. I’m in your boat that the game and my personal tailgate are the experience but apparently, based on the posters comment about USF students road tripping to others schools games, that’s not enough these days. Since there is no immediate cure for the lack of quality opponent (outside of a few OOC games), seems what could be done is to actually organize events to draw people out to the game/pregame. Music/DJs, pop up game day USF/football vendor market, selfie booths, kids stuff like face painting, etc.
  10. These corporate sponsorships are going so well we now get to hear the PA say, “3rd down is money down, brought to you by blah blah blah” on every defensive 3rd down. Don’t recall hearing that before Saturday’s game.
  11. Never been better. Guess that noon game was too early for the non-students as well. Lifted from Bull Disclosure on X.
  12. Well outside of our out of conference opponents we won’t be playing good teams so that is why I’m curious if USF is putting any effort into creating a better fan experience today. We tailgate in the lot north of the stadium (lot 2 I believe), next to the student section, so not sure if there are activities occurring in other areas around the stadium.
  13. Is USF doing anything to create a vibe for the students today? Does not seem like anything should preclude them from offering a better game day experience while at Ray Jay.
  14. This would be ideal. Very few will travel to see USF in a bowl game outside of the local area. A win could also deliver some desperately needed momentum and a bragging point we’d have for the foreseeable future.
  15. Anyone who was at the game today wouldn’t say “real support” is better than ever.
  16. There is parody in the AAC in that every team generally sucks and anything can happen on a given week. At least that’s my running theory.
  17. Interesting. So 90% of requested/supplied student tickets decided to no show. May be they should be giving them out at the stadium based on who shows.
  18. There’s a major problem when a school of 36k can’t get more than a few hundred students to a football game…irregardless of time and weather.
  19. Yep, better than the alternative.Knock on wood. Just making live observations. We are middle aged and have been here throughout so think most excuses for others/students are bs. Yeah it’s hot. You live in Florida. Deal.
