  1. It's a simple finance exercise to demonstrate the monumental value of an OCS. I personally would prefer to go to Ray Jay. I live 4 miles from it, I can access it easily, it has great video screens, great seats, and great clubs/suites. That being said, the monetization opportunity for our own building is **** near infinitely better than at Ray Jay. To those that said tickets will be higher...I'm sure that SOME tickets could be higher but the revenue opportunities outside of tickets should be far greater than tickets alone.
  2. Correction: Sun American USA Conference presented by Spirit Airlines
  3. USF vs. NC State/first half UF is the 'paper straws' of USF Football! Right back on topic;)
  4. If any USF athletics people are monitoring this, please note that if there are paper straws anywhere in this stadium, I am OUT in all ways. USF should be synonymous with freedom and common sense.
  5. Honestly I had the best spot I could have asked for. I am very appreciative of them!
  6. Apparently I have to make a significantly larger donation to be able to buy parking passes in Lot 5...unless someone is at that donation level and can buy those passes and sell them to me because that would be amazing...hence my poor-dom. I do currently keep it in my driveway as it is almost 12' tall but after the season, my wife is requiring me to find a home for it so I am searching RV storage places, people w/ warehouses, etc. If you know of any, please share! Lastly, I will never live somewhere with an HOA. I believe in freedom and America.
  7. I will be in Lot 9 and will have the tallest set of flags in the lot! Come by and have a beer! @John Lewis Sorry I'm still poor:(
  8. Thanks! There is a closet inside the 'vertical' part that should hold everything we need locked. The shape is inspired by the Athletics building (sort of). Turns out that an arc like that requires custom metal roofing panels which are shockingly not available at Lowe's. Took me almost 3 months just to get that part figured out!
  9. Always warms my heart to see the leader of the site have his post edited for language via the filter he implemented:) That being said...well said!
  10. I think Lot 9 unless @John Lewiswill give me a deal on Lot 5 passes!
  11. As promised...maybe 90% the way to completion but Rocky's Hideaway is close enough to make it's debut on Saturday. Started as a flatbed in February 2020 and I thought it would take 2 months. In my defense, we added quite a bit to it...and also I am an accountant, not an engineer. It has a grill, 2 TVs, 8 barstools, a 9 foot bar with green/gold epoxy. It is dedicated to Big **** Cousin Rick(y) and inspired by Puc as an ode to the exalted CJL who also started in a trailer. Looks like we are going to try to beg for as much space as we can get in Lot 9. @CousinRicky @puc86
  12. I honestly thought we were close enough...really sad day for me today
  13. Honestly the firestick is awesome. The quality is high, its cheap and functional. I do hate the remote app however. If anyone knows of a better system with an app that is a remote that actually stays consistently connected, let me know! For $20-$25, the firestick can solve all of your problems. 4k is like $40 I think. Super easy.
  14. Super disappointed you don't like Puckles!!! I very much disagree that Iowa State, Baylor, and Kansas State have more fans or alumni than Cincinnati. Additionally, the endowments from such esteemed institutions such as West Virginia are embarrassingly low (and lower than USF's) which do not suggest material alumni support or "invested eyes". I did not say all of them, I said some of them. And I stand by that.
  15. Puckles: I generally agreed with this sweet graphic upon seeing it. But the more I think about it, I am disagreeing. This is really all about TV money and the new Big 12 contract in 3 years will be based on the number of eyes on games. While I agree that the Big 12 schools have stronger attendance than most of the AAC schools, the local markets for TV are just not good and advertising revenue opportunities in smaller cities are definitionally lower. These are the 8 remaining Big 12 schools and metro areas: 1. Baylor University - Waco, Texas - 82nd largest media market 2. Iowa State University - Ames, Iowa - 72nd largest media market (Des Moines) 3. Univ of Kansas - Lawrence, KS - 133rd largest media market (closest to Topeka) 4. Kansas State University - Manhattan, KS - 133rd largest media market (closest to Topeka) 5. Oklahoma State University - Stillwater, OK - 44th largest media market (closest to Tulsa) 6. TCU - Ft. Worth, TX - 5th largest media market 7. Texas Tech - Lubbock, TX - 145th largest media market 8. WVU - Morgantown, WV - 24th largest media market (closest to Pittsburgh) For the AAC, Navy has a national audience but otherwise falls into the Baltimore metro which is 26th. Outside of that for media market size: Philly (Temple) - 4th, Dallas (SMU) - 5th, Houston - 8th, Tampa - 11th, Orlando - 18th, Raleigh (ECU) - 27th, Cincy - 37th, Tulsa - 44th, NOLA (Tulane) - 50th, Memphis - 51st. That's every single team in the top 51 whereas the remaining Big 12 has 3 of 8 in the top 51. I certainly recognize the national recognition associated with the likes of Kansas and West Virginia, but I cannot say that the name recognition of Kansas State or Iowa State translates into the Tampa media market anymore than the local USF team does. I just don't see the financial benefit of moving to the Big 12 in the form of TV dollars and I don't think these specific schools (Cincy, Houston, UCF) generate enough non-TV football revenue to offset an inevitably lower TV contract than they would get in the AAC. Unrelated, the football team performance for every single one of these schools has been mediocre for the last decade (at best), with the lone flashes coming from Art Briles' Baylor teams which were clearly playing with a different set of rules. Since 2000, a team not named Oklahoma or Texas has won the conference a total of 7 times. Outside of the name "Big 12", I don't see a scenario where I would want to go there. The 'New Years 6' is going to go away with playoff expansion or re-imagination given the state of the Big 12. So no guaranteed NY6 game either. I'm trying to find the upside to the Big 12...I don't like the AAC much either, but its better than these hillbilly schools in the middle of nowhere.
  16. About a year ago, we cut the cord completely and switched to YoutubeTV. Only ended up saving like $20 per month but now I literally get everything and can watch from any device, including on my tvs, with no cable boxes. It really is quite amazing and honestly one of the best things I've ever done.
  17. How about on like Tuesday? It's not done yet! Big push this weekend!
  18. John you haven't seen this trailer. It's going to blow your balls off. You will see where the money went!
  19. Technically not true. I can't buy a parking pass (or 2 in this case) because it requires a significant increase in donation level.
  20. I generally park in Lot 9 but I built a new trailer for this year and I am bit concerned about it because of how tightly they cram you in to each spot. I spoke w/ John Lewis about parking in Lot 5 and he told me I was too poor:( Does anyone know if the parking people are more relaxed or more likely to give a little bit in any other lots?
  21. Honestly the best helmet we've ever had...I recently added it to my collection!
  22. I was at the Bookstore on Friday. All kinds of new USF merch and a lot of it from Adidas. It was all garbage...literally nothing but screenprint vanilla garbage. Even polos and pullovers are screenprinted. Every shirt is paper thin and feels cheap. I don't know who would pay $75 for a screenprinted polo...just really depressing. Its ****. I will keep my 4-9 year old Under Armour stuff until the holes are too big to ignore. I'm so sad about this.
