  1. Earned promotion. Closing on the recruiting trail is valuable and we got a pleasant glimpse into DC Sims. Hoping he stays a while until FSU comes calling ().
  2. Interesting; thank you. I may just need to do the additional research to clarify when I get the time
  3. Exactly. This is the closest we’ve gotten to this. It’s happening. TDS reported an expectation of shovels in the ground the same summer of the Center’s completion. The pace has lagged but it’s picking up. And I’m ok with the progression now that the ball has started to roll.
  4. Apparently, there’s a 3/4 court press on this. I’m cynical too but this is the closest I’ve ever seen to USF getting over the line since the daggum feasibility study in 2018.
  5. You may be right, I may be thinking more of immediate eligibility in tandem with that extra year…
  6. This is true as things currently stand. I’m starting to become more skeptical of a snap back to “normal”. With the amount of money being pumped into sports (football), NIL, the increasing comfort with using the portal, and the merging labor movement, I would not be surprised for an additional year of eligibility to be granted in the case of transfer (likely once) due to HC or Cood. changes once the next NCAA constitution is ratified (expected next year or ‘23). — Back on the main point though, having more transfer players like MVS and KJ Sails as proud alums can go far in carrying the message that it may be better to stay home than try your hand out of state. Although, the right coaching staff has to be in place to help out on the “pride” factor…
  7. According to TDS, his may be an emerging recruiting tactic moving forward. Unfortunately, the portal is the best tool to get better talent that wouldn’t commit to USF a year or two prior, rather than settle on undersized or DII level talent to fill spots. I hope this changes with a steadying of the ship. Over time, if executed properly, transfer players could help swing local high 3*/fringe 4* recruits to come to USF instead of wasting time and energy hoping to get a chance out of state.
  8. Open ASAP. Why blow an opportunity to have a huge opening and THEN the Miami game a year later (hopefully after establishing some new traditions)?
  9. Anyone else think that it gets overlooked how bad most coaches are at clock management? Even Saban makes mistakes (to be fair, very very rarely because most games are out of opponents hands in the 4th when this really matters). CEO coaching is vastly different from coordinating. That’s the biggest hurdle for first time HCs and the VAST majority don’t get it right, especially the first time around. That said, CJS can’t have his dad on the sideline as “extra eyes” if he’s not being effective in helping this get worked out. It’s a cute story but I’m not seeing or hearing the substance of the arrangement. CJS should have a different former HC (with a track record of program-oriented success, of course) in the building if he needs more attentive mentoring but pops “ain’t it”.
  10. And THIS element is where the glaring coaching disparity truly is. Installing cute plays to be creative is one thing, but teaching and correcting high school habits should be the primary focusing for incoming freshmen. With all the tape coaches have on players before they even become HS seniors, it baffles me that it seems notes aren’t being passed on what habits have to be worked out before Week 2/3. Simple things like: throwing the ball away, sliding properly, and commanding urgency to the line at all times should be the first focuses taught in the QB room before reps are even allocated.
  11. He might be privy to that. With how good things are going with Sparty , I can see alumni throwing the kitchen sink at everything to keep him. Unlike at LSU, MSU has patience as long as you keep beating Michigan.
  12. That’s what Seems to be the biggest issue. Coaches are trying to compensate for our lack of talent/depth (of course they’ve made some glaring mistakes along the way) and they’re being reckless in the process. Most of us can see the improvements but we are also seeing these mistakes at a magnified level. I’m disappointed in the results so far, but I can see things pick up in recruiting with all the playing time available.
  13. Running in 95 degree heat and enough humidity to choke a mosquito? I could only imagine why…
  14. Thank you . If legal, it would be something that may benefit athletics greatly (as long as they’re winning and spending the cash right, of course).
  15. That seems like a reasonable of number of grandfathered club seats for those who desire “frills”. The rest (including me at the moment) can deal with bleachers without cup holders and all that.
  16. I’m hoping to lose money if we do. Haha Now it makes me wonder if there’s something against Athletics laying down a “challenge” to the fan base to donate like that in cases of wins…?
