  1. Lets hope Miller gets Milton style revenge by burning UC to the ground when we play them this year.
  2. Miller also coaches Offensive Lines and has done so his entire carrier or so it appears.
  3. Reading that Article raises my hopes. It appears that Miller is very good and has helped Cincinnati become a top 25 Defensive Line. He also coaches Offensive Line. Great add for the Bulls.
  4. Only on the emote. I'd love a drink about now. Got a nasty cold and dragging. A drink won't pick me up but, I could fall into a nice sound sleep.
  5. Call me optimistic but, I believe we're building a Big 12 staff.
  6. Could king be coming on board to assist in QB development. Just curious.
  7. It's mainly psychological but, there are some studies that show diminished abilities in colder temperatures, even slight changes can cause them. When your body perceived that it's cold, it focuses your blood towards your bodies core. This helps maintain your vital organs but, causes your extremities, Arms and Legs to tire easily do to oxygen atrophy. Further more, cold air is heavier then warm air and causes the ball to be heavier and not fly as far. Being wet emphasizes this effect as well as overcast skies. So if someone is used to playing in such conditions, they'll have an advantage.
  8. I hope so. Our record in cold weather games isn't all that sparkling if I recall accurately.
  9. What you neglected to add; Oct 22 @ Temple - Average low temperature in Philly on that date 46 is degrees with 0.08" of precipitation. Nov 12 @ Memphis - Average low temperature in Memphis on that date is 44 degrees with o.19" of precipitation. Nov 19 @ SMU - Average low temperature in Dallas on that date is 45 degrees with 0.8" of precipitation. Any amount of continuous rain in 45 degree temperatures will effect the outcome of the game. It may not effect the first half but, after sitting during halftime and then coming out cold in the 3rd quarter, it begins to sink in. I hope we're prepared for the cold whether we have to play in it or not. Just my 2 cents as I'm familiar with those temperatures combined with rain and wind chill.
  10. I hate being right. They added none and soon will be forced to add 4 just to stay alive. Sigh! The Big 12's leadership is caught playing a game of Checkers while the rest of the P5 are playing Chess.
  11. The Big 12 is a joint property with Fox and ESPN. It is my opinion that the Big 12 is being manipulated as a destabilizing factor for other conferences to decrease their value. If it is to be used in such a fashion, it will have to become relevant. Fox wants into the southeast, ESPN wants to control all of college football. Unfortunately for ESPN, the B1G grew to strong to be controlled by them. So, ESPN settled on controlling everyone else. ESPN owns the SEC and ACC outright. They are also part owners of the Pac and Big 12. ESPN wants to push the SEC as the equal or better of the B1G at every turn. They want FSU and Ga Tech in the SEC. These are my own thoughts. Big 12 gets Florida market as well as NY and New England. Big 12 gets a Conference network leaving the ACC as the only P5 Conference without it's own network. FSU and Ga Tech bail. ACC drops in value and cost. Fox will be more then willing to flip most of the cost of the Big 12 to keep Texas in the fold and the ACC becomes the new American. Ta Da.....
  12. You may quote me now. They will add four teams or they will add none.
  13. Tomorrow's meeting is where the real wheeling and dealing will be done. Only the AD's can make decisions on Conference Expansion. So we will know more tomorrow or not.
  14. When the Big 12 adds USF, USF will be recruiting the same or similar types of recruits. At least they'll be at the same level if not the same system.
  15. They don't call it the "Dead Period" for nothing.
  16. Good stuff and to your last post; No I don't watch River Monsters. Ever since my daughter saw the episode where the electric eels attacked the horses and killed the cattle herder, my wife has forbidden that show to be viewed in our home. Sigh!
  17. This looks like our best chance for a winning streak this year. I hope we get the "W".
  18. Excuse me? He picked at my post attempting to correct it with an error. I'm sorry I'll go sit with the UCF crowd since we're dumbing down the board.
  19. Actually, the Bull Shark has been known to swim up "Estuaries" and bite victims as it can survive in either fresh or salt water. The problem with this is that my OP specifically stated lakes. Lakes are 98% of the time fresh water and are not linked to the open ocean except by rivers and streams too narrow and shallow for Bull Sharks to navigate. Now I know you may report the incident where a boy was attacked in Lake Pontchartrain but Lake Pontchartrain isn't strictly a lake — it's an estuary, a coastal body of brackish water connected by rivers or streams to the open ocean. The lake is connected to the Rigolets strait and Chef Menteur Pass to Lake Borgne, which opens into the Gulf of Mexico, (Lakes aren't usually directly connected to the open ocean). Thus by definition it doesn't qualify for my situation in the OP. Nice try though. Here's the link to the article. http://www.livescience.com/47364-shark-attack-louisiana-lake.html
  20. Hmm you've missed the point here. The point was to show one side looking to positives and the other looking to negatives. It's a lake and there is no known species of shark large enough t pose a danger to man that resides within a lake. That's why the comment by the Optimist is both poignant and factual. As to your point of whom could survive. Anything is possible with effort however, the obvious would be the swimmer with the flotation device. Sorry for being literal.
  21. On a side note, there's a funny thing about optimists. Four people are seated on a boat that's sinking fast in the middle of a large lake. Three of the passengers can't swim and they have only one life vest. The Pessimist: "We're all going to drown!!!!!!" The Optimist: "At least there aren't any sharks!" I say give COA a break. He's here whether you like it or not. So, sit back and enjoy the show.
  22. "Wrings hands together maniacally". Yes it's all coming together just as we planned. "Muhahahahaha".
  23. Urm, have you been to a Waffle house at 3am? The only thing rivaling the Short Stacks of Pancakes in the room (for numerical superiority), are the number of guns. Yes sir, It's Law city on a sugar and caffeine buzz.
