  1. We actually moved the ball on Offense. GG boys.

  2. The Good: For once, the QB looked like a QB and the ball was moving on offense. The Bad: Slow DB's and Dropped passes in the first half. I saw several near-perfect throws land in the hands of a WR only to be dropped (if for no other reason than they were shocked someone actually delivered a ball to their hands) The Ugly: PenaltiesPentaltiesPenalties all day long. 19/170 (or some such outrageous number). It took too much away from the offense and gave too much to Houston. (That last Offensive PA call was questionable, then to have Houston do the same thing a few plays later and not get called for it just sucks) Overall, the offense is stepping up. The coaches just need to work on making sure we are all set when we need to be and that we don't have these shifting issues. Good game otherwise. 2-2 in Conference. We may not get the title or the BCS bowl, but we can sure as h*ll make sure UCF doesn't win it either if we fix some of these issues soon. Long time to the next game day. We might just have some good games the rest of the year.
  3. Maybe by getting reps in on the Offensive side of the ball in practice they will become better at catching the ball on both sides :3
  4. I like it. If a guy can play the position better than someone else and still has the stamina to play his position, put him in on both sides of the ball. And if you are deep enough defensively, put him in at another position. It isn't always a desperate move, some great teams in the last decade have put guys in on both sides of the ball or switched them to cover holes and still came out looking good at the end of the year.
  5. Maybe they'll spend so much time working on their uniforms and making sure they look good that they don't train all week. Then they'll be rusty and we can win the game.......... we can dream, right?
  6. Some might say that all he does is win...... I don't hear that song enough at kickoff because we never score anymore.
  7. Think about it, our offense won't be tired at all this week! They only played for about a quarter on Saturday. If our defense can get in some quality rest, we'll have the fresh-er team. Then at least it might be manageable :3 Besides, we can now play like we have nothing to lose. Go Win or Go Home: USF 27 Houston 24. (the optimism)
  8. At least the defense is putting up some good numbers this season. They play their hearts out every week now and they have to to keep us in these games.

  9. I feel like most students don't get till their seats until around three minutes into the game. XP
  10. It's not their university. It's the closest college to them geographically. That's not enough to make a person watch bad football. Agree completely about dissing the TB community BUT as far as students and "fans" go, I rarely quote Nicky Satan but if you want to be a college football program like most of us want, this has to be the attitude: "My sense of it is, I always say the fans are a part of the team," Saban said, according to the Anniston Star. "Everybody else should have the same sort of commitment. You don't have to do the work all week, you don't have to practice, you don't have to come in at 7 in the morning and leave at 11 at night, you don't have to do any of that stuff. "All you have to do is come to the game, drink beer, do whatever you want, party in the parking lot. I've never been at a tailgate in my life. All I'm asking is that you just come and have fun and stay for the whole game." <--(Baby steps) http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9880250/alabama-crimson-tide-punish-students-leaving-early But if it isn't fun to watch your team get smashed, why would a student want to go to the game? They can have the same tailgate experience on Campus for less money and they won't have to drive.
  11. It was our only chance to score a touchdown! We had to! XD
  12. I think it is safe to say we won't be seeing many students for the rest of the year at Ray Jay. This was a big chance to gain everybody's attention and win back the students and the offense blew it. (I feel for those defensive guys, they really did their best today and they were not rewarded for it) With the weakness of the AAC schedule in the coming weeks fewer students will want to see us play or lose to crap teams. If it gets to the point where all of my buddies stay back and just watch the game on TV or do something else during home games, I may just not bother heading all the way out to the stadium. No point if I can't have a little fun while I'm there. Its a sad time for Football. On the upside, Basketball is coming.
  13. Man. Can't wait to hear it from my buds on campus when I get back. I got the short end of the stick by going to this game XP lol
  14. I think I'll stick it out till the end. By the time the game is over, traffic will be gone and I'll have a straight shot home!
  15. There goes most people in the stands. GG Louisville. XP
  16. No excuse. Students are awful and have no school pride. I would smack my friends if they were complaining about a noon kickoff when I was in school. Get to the stadium. Support your school. Those who chose not to come may have less "school pride" than those of us who came, but they: 1) Got more sleep than me. 2) Don't have to sit in this heat 3) Don't have to pay parking to watch this (thus far) rather lame production offensively 4) Can watch this at home This game reminds me why I hate noon games
  17. Students around me in the stands are talking about leaving now. We need an offensive push or people are going to start heading out. :/
  18. Good time to maybe get some Offense on the field? :3 Please? Bobby? BOBBY?
  19. I'm here in the stands.....this feels awkward XD
  20. Overall as far as athletics go? I just think we need something to get people to go to games. Make game days more fun in the major sports and work harder to promote the better teams (women's basketball). If we take steps to get people out to games, win or lose, then I'd say we are doing well. I can see CWT doing better in football the next few years, basketball will rebound (pun 100% intended), and other teams will continue to do pretty well. We'll see how we stack up to UCF this year. Football they clearly have us beat right now, but who is to say what will happen in one month? Its college football. OCS? I (and many other students) wish. It would be so easy to get to games and participate in game day. We could walk right in, no parking money needed, no crammed busses that take an hour to make the round-trip that don't show up until after the end of the game. But we would need money for that and if it involves raising tuition to pay for it I say NO. We fill Ray Jay.....sometimes.....usually when we play bigger teams and only then because they bring everyone to our house. Maybe someday down the road if we get back to winning more often and they do something about he bus system for students going to and from games XP Give the team a few years. They'll get back on track.
  21. As much as I'd like to see us beat Louisville, I also realize that it is not likely to happen with this team. If they don't feel 100% for sure, keep them out of the game and save them for Houston. It would be a huge morale boost to the school and students if we win, but I'd rather it not come at the expense of Bench or Shaw out for the season because they aggravated an injury in this game. If we win, THANK GOD. If not, we still might have a shot at the conference as a one loss team. We may have to settle for that rebuilding year label, win what games we can against the rest of the weak conference, and plan/recruit for the future. Don't risk it if we don't have to.
  22. Much as I hate That Team Up North, they do a good job of keeping their community and alumni together. In these classic sports schools they have people coming back all the time to coach or teach. They try to only hire from a select group of people who have either attended the school or have strong ties to the school. Brady Hoke was a former assistant coach under Lloyd Carr and spoke often to Bo Schembechler, with whom he worked on athletic events. After the disaster that was Rich Rodriguez, UM wanted to get back to classic UM style. The hire was smart and popular with the fan base. In the last few years games at the Big House have been packed and more exciting for the community. I think it was partially a response to how crowds reacted after the disastrous seasons from 2008-2010 including the 2009 Ohio State take-over of the stadium. They want to keep people coming to games, keep alumni happy, and make it fun for anyone who gets out to the games. We don't have the lore of big teams like UM, Ohio State, Alabama, and Texas. We need to get our alumni more involved somehow come gameday. We need to make the hires of former coaches, student athletes, and students. Get people in here who know the university already and know what needs to be done to make athletic events more interesting. Create the fun traditions that will get fans involved on gameday. We need a USF guy who can step in to our athletics office and be known, who will make the right hires, and actively work with the different athletic teams to create a USF experience. Enough of borrowing music from other schools for kickoff too. Create something new. We need a guy with ideas and vision who is willing to work hard to make this school a leader. (Also maybe get us out of the AAC.....but you know....one thing at a time) Also getting Raymond James to look a little bit more like a home stadium on Saturdays could help. Vendors with USF shirts is definitely a step in the right direction(If there has to be a TB Bucs logo on it I'm ok with that, just make the shirt GREEN). I feel like I'm traveling to an away game and being served by people on the other team. While I would LOVE an OCS, I'm not going to push that yet. Get the wins and traditions going first. Then upgrade to an OCS. Easier for students to get to.
