McCarney earns new deal

Glad to see him getting it done at a place not normally known for success.

 

UNT has their newer stadium, and I think they've started to hit their stride in C-USA (doesn't hurt that the "good" teams left)

North Texas coach Dan McCarney has received a new five-year deal through 2018, sources told ESPN.

McCarney's new deal will make him among the highest-paid coaches in Conference USA, a source said. McCarney made $545,300 last season, which ranked among the bottom half of C-USA coaches.

 

Is Mike Canales still his OC or did he go to South Alabama or something? Either way, I can see him on the rise to getting a better job if he keeps it up at UNT. I know some Iowa fans who want him back whenever Ferentz hangs it up.
