Seattle Slew was my favorite horse I ever watched race with Spectacular Bid a close second.

Secratariat was best but I was 4 years old and even being brought up by a gambler I still didnt know the ponys until a little later. I was 8 years old by Seattle Slew and probably had 25 visits to Saratoga in me by then and I loved that horse. Maybe cuz I remember my dad winning so much money?

Steve

I lived right over the mountain from NY in Mass and was also a regular at OTB.  I feel right at home there. Your dad must have taken you to Saratoga in August every summer right?

yes he did

let me tell you my"internship"  at the tracks taught me so much about human nature.

i learned things i could never learn in school

today the state would probably try to take me away  from him for "not raising me properly'

Im in same boat Steve. I taught a bunch of my 4th grade classmates how to play poker.  My father gambles for a living to this date and has had decent career. I am in stock game so basically followed in his footsteps.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
