Syracuse rallied late against the Cornell Big Red, going on a 3-0 run with under four minutes to play including the game tying goal with 4 seconds remaining, to send the national championship game into overtime. The Orange went on to hit the sudden victory goal and win their 11th national championship in their final year as a lacrosse independent. Syracuse will begin play in the newly formed Big East lacrosse conference in the 2010 season.
