Like I said I agree about spending so much money on old veterans, back in the mid 90's when they had so much success, a majority of the team were home grown guys, brought up through thier farm system.  Jeter, Williams, Pettite most notable.  And other guys on the team werent big name stars, Tino, Paul O'neil, and Scott Broscious.  It was mostly the chemistry between those guys that made it a great team.  And I think the Yanks need to get back to this way of building a team.  You have Jeter, Arod, Matsui, and most likely Beltran by next season, start building up your farm system and build a team around those guys with young talent.

To build a farm system you must be patient. After 4 straight non world series winners and Boston embarresing them and then winning the series, there is no way in hell George is going to be patient. The checkbook will be open.

Suspence:  You're right.

And so are you KR.  Yanks are in deep doo-doo if Steiney overreacts again.  But he will.

You're right, Clemens and Wells were expected, but I still cannot believe they let Pettite go, still to this day it pains me to think about it.
