First, thank you to all the Seniors.

Second, we just got home from El Paso. The wife and I had a great time,,,,, except for the actual game. The Bulls definitely stampeded El Paso. The events were great. Props to the alumni organization for putting on well organized events. The fireworks show (not a USF sponsored event) was fantastic. The pep-rally was a bunch of fun. All the people I met were great. The El Pasans seemed to be rooting for the Bulls. I even had vendors mention how many more USF people were in El Paso.

Third, RELAX. That was an awful third quarter. You can read the quotes and tell that the team did not have the intensity that they needed to win that game. So the blame goes all around, players and coaches. Frankly I was disappointed that the fans (students excluded) were not making more noise. It is encouraged to make noise while we are on defense. Oregon had the game plan on how to beat us, run the ball and bring the house on defense (Rutgers?). Maybe a little play action or slants would help here.

They are a young team and will learn from this experience. Yes, it was a tough pill to swallow but they will remember how much this hurts. Remember Charlotte a couple years ago, that hurt also. This is a growing pain that programs go through and use it as motivation in the future.

Remember it could be worse, you could be a golden knight!

Jay

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
