Sad thing in this article is that McGriff is the DRays career HR leader with 95. Ouch. I think this sounds like another publicity manuever, much like Wade Boggs.

Oh great. Another aging player who grew up in Tampa Bay, who will get some career-capping statistical landmark while wearing a Rays uniform.

Yet another ploy to take attention from the fact that they're the worst team in the AL (and second-worst in MLB)

How long will the Rays GM stick around - this guy has completely f**ked up the organization from Day One and his legacy continues to loom over the team even though Pinella is calling the shots now.

Players think they can come to Tampa Bay and just coast, stop trying because they know the team stinks. The Rays need to rid the organization of the losing attitude.

Baseball is dead because all contracts are guaranteed so players know they'll get paid regardless of how well they play.
