Bill Russell wasn't even right for a Center...

http://www.nba.com/history/records/playoffs_series_rebounds.html

Bill Russell played in 165 NBA playoff games and had a total of 4104 rebounds for a playoff average of 24.p per game.

I understand that I am just going to show it was definately not bill russell who never had one playoff season where he averaged less then 20 RPG.  I have the guys email adress and phone number who put this trivia question out if anyone can come up with a forward who had over 72 rebounds in a 7 game nba final series.

Here is some info that may be relevent...

most defensive rebounds in a 7 game series(NBA Finals):

72 - Larry Bird, Boston, 1984

Most offensive:

33 - Elvin Hayes, Washington, 1978

Marvin Webster, Seattle, 1978

The answer to this question is Larry Bird.  It did not say defensive rebounds but maybe larry did not have one offensive rebound the whole series?

The guy who asked the question was Nick Fortuna at the princeton sports desk,  609-750-4682  or email him at nfortuna@bloomberg.net if anyone would like too.
