If you're going to copy everything that UCFs band does, which by merit of observation alone you've done

Hmmm, feeling a little self important today, are we? ::)

umm UCF fan. You really think UCF started that tradition?? LOL. Try telling that to schools like Army and Navy that have a real true tradition of singing both alma maters after the game with the players. What I would love to see happen is that the USF players stay and sing the alma mater after the game. That would be pretty nice to see.

Hmmn - how not to make this into smack....

I don't know how - so don't take it as such - but for here it goes:

If you're going to copy everything that UCFs band does, which by merit of observation alone you've done - and it makes sense knowing who your staffers are - then just copy the good stuff.   I think it's terrible that the UCF band plays the Alma Mater after the game and can't see how it would be better at USF or any other school.

I think everyone should put it at a customary time in the 3rd quarter or so if they really want it to be the "schools" alma mater and not just the band.

Just a general college football opinion.

Haven't seen UCF's band, so I can't comment on that, but I fail to see how that's "copying" from them. The alma mater is the last thing played in stadiums across the country. Do you honestly think UCF started it?

That said, it's always struck me as an odd tradition as well. I understand the reverence for ones school and tradition and all, but a solemn hymn just seems odd to me as the note upon which to end a football game. Nonetheless, I stick around for it as well. I don't understand those SEC kids who show up to football games in shirt and tie either.
