Easiest road to the BCSposted: Wednesday, August 23, 2006  |  Feedback  |  Print Entry

I got a bunch of responses off the list of teams with the toughest road to the BCS a few weeks back. Most people asked about the inverse -- and this week's list is just that: Easiest road to the BCS. I know I could've included the entire Big East, but I'm trying to be a bit more balanced. There are also a few teams on this list with essentially no shot of making a New Year's Day bowl, much less the title game, but I am just looking at their schedules. So humor me!

1. West Virginia: This isn't the only reason why I think the Mountaineers are the best bet to make it to the title game, but it is certainly one of the biggest. WVU should be at least two-touchdown favorites in its first seven games, with the possible exception of a visit from Maryland. Overall, there really is only one game that figures to be against a Top 25 team (at Louisville), and if the Cards lose early at home to Miami and stumble someplace else along the way, WVU might not play any opponents in the Top 25. The Pack doesn't have to face Miami or Virginia Tech, and they get Florida State in Raleigh. The nonconference slate of Appalachian State, Akron, ECU and Southern Miss is putrid. The lone downside is they don't get Duk

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
